Handylectric was very helpful in connecting new outlets and switches in my half bathroom, as well as diagnosing a weird wiring situation on my breaker panel. I noticed the problem on Saturday and it was fixed by Monday at lunch time due to their great response time. I normally handle minor electrical stuff like switch and fixture changes myself, but during a DIY remodel I couldn't get the breaker to fully cut power. The minute I got zapped by a still-live wire, I decided to call in the pro's. Turns out that one room's wiring is split across two breakers. They advised me that they could do the extra work at the panel but it wasn't totally necessary from a safety perspective. They answered our phone call right away, truly asked several questions in order to get the right idea about what was going on, and we set up an appointment for the following day. We had to change the time and they were very accommodating and PUNCTUAL. They arrived right when they said they would. Their prices were reasonable and they took the time to explain what was going on. They did their best to work with our very old wiring. In the future, we are going to have to replace our wiring and we will 100% be calling them to do the job. Although they got what we needed done at my workplace, getting power on a different panel to a different room..the process left more to be desired. First off it was a teaching experience where the main electrician was teaching the others how to do things like.. "you don't drill through drywall, you take a hammer to it" and which tools to use for what etc. I guess no one taught them that you don't stand on someones table to get to the ceiling which one of them did and broke our table (pics included) Maybe you would like to say the table was already flimsy, or it looks sturdy enough to stand on.. You just don't do that! It's not professional. What you do is move the table and use the ladder. Next, everything was sort of left in a mess. They drilled holes and hammered the wall and just left it. Ceiling panels were taken off & not put back. The pictures tell you everything. Everyone else seems to have had a great experience. The thing is: after 2 hours and $150 later, they still couldn't figure out my power issue so back to square one. In all fairness, the owner spoke to me on the phone and told me they would work with me next time (if) they come back. They suggested an upgrade to 200 which is probably what I need. Jeremy installed a new 200-amp service on our home and did a number of other jobs -- install a few outlets, replace switches, etc. He was great. His bid was very competitive, he walked us through the permitting process, even accompanying me to LADBS, and obviously we were happy with the work. I also feel he went above and beyond in several ways, like offering to return at a later date free of charge to install an outdoor outlet in a already existing box, and tracking down a drywall guy when the guy we'd originally contracted to do some patching was a no-show. Two other things that he has that plenty of other contractors lack: 1) He was always on time and always showed on days he said he'd show; 2) He cleaned up after himself when the job was done. They came out to wire an outlet/electrical box to the ceiling, so we could have a hanging light fixture in our living room which previously had none. I got a very quick response to my yelp text with the owner and a rough estimate via text--which most electricians/ companies don't seem to want to do these days! The guys that came were very friendly and got right to work. I was warned they might need to punch a hole or two in the wall to run the wiring to the existing switch, but when I asked them to see if they could work around that, they had no problem putting in the extra time and effort into getting it done without any holes needing to be opened up in the wall. I'm extremely happy with the job they did and would recommend them to any of my neighbors in need of a good and honest electrician. Jeremy has fixed several wiring issues in my house over the last few months. During the last one -- a short caused by wiring near my fireplace -- he discovered that a bad main breaker was causing my breaker panel to literally melt. He recommended an upgrade to 200A service (this was confirmed by a separate electrician from my home warranty company). My home inspector and another electrician that had done work earlier had missed this and we are glad Jeremy caught it -- it was a hazardous situation. They performed the upgrade in one day and took care of all the permitting at a very competitive cost. Jeremy and his crew have also installed a number of lighting fixtures in my house. Typically, I do not hire my contractors on the basis of their jokes, but I needed an electrician. To make a long story short, Jeremy is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with! I have two very old houses that need tons of maintenance. As a result I have worked with every single person on Jeremy's crew. The dimmer on our kitchen lights blew out on a Sunday evening during quarantine. We called HandyLectric and the owner picked up and even arranged for someone to come out the very next day. We were very hopeful. Two of their guys showed up on time, were pleasant and professional and since they didn't have the exact dimmer on their truck we ordered it online. They hooked up an on/off switch for us to use until our new one arrived. They spent roughly 40 minutes at our house and presented us a check for $300! They did say it would include their follow up to install the dimmer after I gasped. Still, I suggest you get a quote if you can up front and know they have a two hour minimum. They did come to install the new dimmer a few days later but that blew within the week. They came back to see why the new dimmer blew and told us we had too many watts of bulbs on our system so we finally called our old electrician who is usually too busy with commercial projects but since most businesses are closed right now he came over a few hours later. He told us exactly how to fix the high wattag (by replacing a few bulbs with LEDs), installed another new dimmer and charged us $40 total. read more

Jeremy and Luis were awesome! They replied to my texts and showed up within the time frame they gave. We had them over to diagnose and fix some dead lights. The wiring in our house is chaos, but they worked quickly and got them working in a reasonable time. We were so happy with their work we asked them to come back a couple days later and give us estimates for some other repairs and new fixtures. That morning, Jeremy texted well in advance to let us know he would be a bit late, and texted his ETA when he was certain of the time; he arrived at the given ETA. (This seems like a basic thing but most other contractors we've worked with showed up late with no notice.) Part of the estimate was to fix a closet light. To give the estimate he needed to take down the fixture. Because it was a simple fix, he ended up making the repair at no charge! He told us how he figures the pricing on the other things, so I have a good sense of what other similar tasks might cost. This transparency and openness increased my level of trust.
