He is so meticulous with his work and everything looks beautiful! He wasn't afraid to tackle the mold and gross stuff in both our tubs to remove every bit of old caulk and then re-caulk them beautifully! He even researched our one tub to find out that it actually SHOULDN'T have been caulked previously in the first place, so he removed all of it and saved us from making the mistake of having it caulked again! He is so good at educating us about stuff around our rental house, which we really appreciated and needed to hear! He fixed our front door that used to SLAM shut and now it shuts so gently! He was mindful of our indoor-only cats and made sure to never let them out. He's very friendly, too, and we had some really cool conversations. He communicates via text very well and is VERY good about working around my constantly-changing schedule! We would trust him with anything we need done. He was at my house 2-3 hours and had to go to Home Depot to get some parts. He successfully changed out my garbage disposal and did a great job. We ran out of time with the TV mounting project since a lot of time was spent on reading the instructions and building the hardware, by the time he was ready to mount I had to run off to a meeting. I should have read the instructions and had the hardware assembled prior to...it would have saved me $50! And we would have had time to mount my TV. All in all friendly service, but I would rather pay by the project vs per a 30 min/hourly rate.

I needed to resurface two tub / showers in my 1956 apartment building. Jeff was prompt in generating his estimates, and reasonable in his bids. He was very responsive to my emails and phone calls. He coordinated and scheduled the jobs directly with the tenants, and showed up to perform the work on time. The first project was tiling the shower and replacing much of the plumbing that supplies it. Due to very uneven wall angles, an unleveled existing tub, and several other unanticipated hurdles, the job took Jeff far longer than he'd planned. Yet he did a very professional job of it, never complained, or hinted at increasing the cost of the job due to these surprises and extra work. The tenants were as pleased as I was with their new shower, the quality of Jeff's work, and their entire experience during the upgrade. The second project was installing a fiberglass surround in another apartment. In this case, the materials that I'd purchased were not compatible with my old steel tub. This required a parts run to Lowe's to buy a new surround, and since he didn't have my receipt, a second trip back to Lowe's to meet me there and return the original surround. Of course none of this extra work or time were anticipated when Jeff bid the job, but to my surprise (and to Jeff's credit), he refused my offer to increase the payment for this job due to my error. What's more, since the new surround materials cost less than the original materials he'd planned, Jeff reduced the materials portion of his quote to reflect the difference. It's quite rare these days to find a handyman who merely honors his promises - much less one who does the professional work, and goes to the extraordinary lengths that Jeff Herrera has. He's now certainly at the top of my Rolodex.

We hired EcoHandyman to install a radon mitigation system, new crawlspace vapor barrier, and…read moreinsulation in our home's crawlspace. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would recommend their services. EcoHandyman was the most expensive of the bids we received, but we felt the quality materials and work justified the price for our primary residence. They used a thick 12 mil crawlspace vapor barrier, reinforced to 15 mil under stored items, exceeding the flimsier 6 mil plastic typically used by cheaper contractors. The radon system components were high quality and installed properly for energy efficiency and performance. Throughout the project, communication was clear and all crew members conducted themselves professionally in our home. They kept us informed during each step and were thoughtful about protecting our space during the messy crawlspace work. Most importantly, the crawlspace improvements have drastically reduced winter radon levels from over 8 pCi/L to around 1 pCi/L now. The vapor barrier and added insulation also seem to make the floor noticeably warmer this winter. The overall experience gives us confidence that the work was done right. While the price was high, we felt it was fair for the quality and expertise. For any major crawlspace or radon work needed in the future, EcoHandyman will be at the top of our list to call again.
