This is the first time I've done my BLS through Safety Training Seminars. The place that I usually…read moredo it at I believe no longer is operating. My team lead at work told me about Safety Training Seminars and how she always renew her BLS here, so I thought I'll give it a try. I was happy to see that there was a location right down the street from my house. I scheduled my skills training for a Saturday, so I started to do my online course about 2 weeks prior. The online course was really thorough and informative. I feel that although I've done this a couple times, I still feel like I learn something new each time. During my skills training at the facility that they have, I was given instructions on how to enter the facility. I was having trouble getting the emergency locked box opened to get the key to enter the place, so I called the number for assistance. Everybody whom I encountered when I called was so nice to me. When I called to let them know that the code I was given didn't work, the person whom I spoke with assisted me in finding another one. I got in and had a bit of difficulties but after that, once I got started it was smooth sailing! I'll be coming back to do my BLS here in the future!

I am a healthcare worker and needed to renew my BLS provider certificate ASAP. I found Safety…read moreTraining seminars online and was able to schedule my online course and skills training within the week! It was simple, convenient and thorough. My skills test was with a VAM and I thought it was extremely helpful testing that way. It is able to monitor the correct depth and timing so I can get a better idea of how it would actually be if I had to perform CPR. I would definitely return when I need to renew again!

My first Adult/Pediatric CPR AED course was at this location back in January of 2014. I believe I…read morewas in the same course as the first reviewer where the instructor was over an hour late. The environment seems questionable and the fact that roughly 10 students were waiting outside for an hour seemed even more odd. A student finally received an email for the code to enter the building and everyone seated themselves in the classroom. At 10 AM another student received an email that the instructor will be there in less than 15 minutes. Class was scheduled to begin at 9 AM. The instructor finally arrived an hour late and began passing out handbooks and setting up the classroom. 5 minutes later a student got up and hollered at the instructor that he's untrustworthy given that he arrived an hour late and should've apologized right away instead of setting up the classroom. My second course was March 2016 to renew my certification. Thankfully Janice was on time and made sure everyone knew the course agenda. She scheduled a break that would suit everyone's schedule. Overall I wouldn't recommend this location if you are being dropped off by a friend or parent. There is nothing within a reasonable walking distance if is class dismissed early. There's a Sonic, Starbucks, and McDonald's within reasonable driving distance. Plenty of time given that break is half an hour.

I came here on a Saturday morning to complete the in-class portion of the CPR/AED course. When I…read morefirst got there, I was definitely unsure where to park. I had to do a couple of loops around the building in order to find the lot. It is small and off to the left hand side if you are facing the front. The building is a bit run down and not the most aesthetically pleasing to eye but they are there as a resource so that is better than not having them at all. After parking, I had to enter from the loading dock on the back side (heads up for those interested in taking the course). I was a bit skeptical about how successful the day would be but it actually turned out great, mainly due to our instructor. Ingrid Pocock was really welcoming and patient throughout the whole class. She definitely knows what she is doing and I would highly recommend her as an instructor. She took the time to make sure that all questions were answered and that everyone could properly practice the skills for certification. She is the reason why I reviewed this place a 3/5 stars. (-2 for the building and confusion with the entrance). If this review were solely based on her skills as an instructor, I would give it a 5/5.

I urge anyone who has had a negative experience with EMS University /Universal to file a complaint…read morewith the Better Business Bureau and, if applicable, dispute the charge with your credit card institution. https://www.bbb.org/process-of-complaints-and-reviews/complaint-acceptance-guidelines After taking payment, the school stopped responding to emails and requests. Classes and students from various courses are mixed, and everything will be on Zoom, including "hands-on" requirements. The phone number that Victoria (Vicky) Yu (administrative lead) provides on other social media outlets is a bot; you will never be able to reach her or anyone else. EMS University/Universal is also not an accredited school for first-time EMT students. It is only for continuing EMT training.

I truly believe that every family who enrolls in this EMT program is serious about learning and…read morecommitted to succeeding. But I have to ask: does this school actually have a customer service department? when you need to help... don't waste of time. The instructors only teach the classes. Whenever students encounter problems, they are told to contact customer service--but customer service is impossible to reach. Since the day we enrolled, getting in touch with anyone has been extremely difficult. 2 days finished 400 page to 600 pages, its normal for someone who's just starting out in this industry to need some guidance. We never received any orientation for new students. The website did not clearly state that failing the exam three times would permanently lock students out of the practice system. Instead, this policy was only explained on the first day of class--after we had already paid all of the tuition and fees. Isn't that too late? Shouldn't families have the right to know this information in advance so they can make an informed decision? I guess no one tell you EMT exam is easy! everyone needs take more time to studying ,more and more! Is this a military selection process, or is it a training school? Who gave the school the authority to train students this way? A school that truly cares about its students should respond to their questions and provide support. Asking students to study nearly 600 pages in just two days before taking an exam--is that really a reasonable educational approach? Is that truly the only option students have? If this is how the program is designed, is the school's only goal simply to operate the program without caring about the experiences and feedback of the students and their families? My child has only one week left before completing the program. We have sent several emails, yet not a single one has received a response.
