Ok. I question some of the cleaning practices there. The French nails had waivy lines so they don't look right, but they give a nice pedicure. Biggest issue is they will add on extra services without telling you it is extra. Mani is 13, hand massage is 3, and pedi is 25, but somehow it was 48 plus tip when I left. read more

I'm from out of state and read reviews and was encouraged. So I called. Small cute salon. Comfy chairs and relaxed, clean environment. I made an appt the day prior and they started my mani pedi w/in 5 min of arriving. I got a pedi and gel mani. Gel removal was a gentle removal without dremel tool! Yay! I chose to do a 5 color ombre (gradation) effect on my hands and Amber, my tech pro, was so helpful and patient and I am so happy w the colors. She took her time and my toes and nails are beautiful. I can not say enough nice things about this place and the staff there. They are all friendly and extremely accommodating. I called this afternoon because I broke a nail (yes, I know, horrors). They squeezed me in, even though it was after hours. I wasn't charged for it because I had just been there less than a week ago. All of my experiences with them have been wonderful. I stopped by the Hands Down because of their great Yelp reviews & I was not disappointed! 1- Staff: They were very friendly and accommodated my late arrival and stayed after their closing time to finish the job. The manicurist, Debbie, did a fantastic job and was very nice. 2- Environment: The spa is very clean and well ventilated. Always clean and equipment is always sterile, which is very important to me. Staff is always professional and friendly! Having an occasional pedicure has really helped me with walking long distances, no more ingrown toenails. read more

They are awesome and very affordable! I stepped in, 50 minutes before close, asking (hoping) if they could take a walk-in. They were very communicative, stating that I could wait until one of them was finished with their current client. When all was said and done, she ended up staying past close to finish painting my nails. $17 later, plus tip, I had beautifully, freshly painted nails! Thank you! read more

I chose this salon for someone & called ahead to pay as a gift. She enjoyed it very much, thought it was exceptionally clean, the girls were all very nice and she said they had a lot of colors. I just relocated back to the shoreline from California and was miserably disappointed with the quality of nail services in this area. Tried a few places, really worked with the girls to achieve the same high standards that are the norm in San Francisco, but just couldn't find a place that could hit the mark. That was until I tried Hands Down. What a refreshing pleasure! Brenda did a Shellac mani and an exceptional regular pedi and everything was 100% perfect. Plus the salon has a lovely atmosphere, and is very clean. Everything nicely sterilized. All just right. I get my nails done regularly, have for years, and this place is the real deal.
