To the Hand and Stone by Whole Foods on Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers. Reception was very poor. On Tuesday, May 14, a visit was made. The front of the house lady was not 'made-up' for work, not very professional looking. Dress to impress business owner!! Rule is, always look your best ( at any job) when you're representing a business. Second loss, No engagement with client, Could have showed more interest , ask questions...in who walked through the door. No time for me? No time for you. As a result, you all lost potential clients. I tried to make an appointment on line and it was impossible. After going thru the usual process, when I was ready to book the service and time, there was no way to advance. I was stuck having gone thru all the steps and at the end couldn't get an appointment scheduled. I thought maybe I did something wrong so I went thru the process again and the same thing happened. I then went back to step one and searched for an H&S from google and it said there wasn't a location near me. I tried the Hand and Stone Estero location twice. First time I had Angel, she used a flat massage device on me that was able to "dig a little deeper" so she wouldn't have to exert her own energy to do it; the massage device helped her do it a bit harder. Well, I was sore for days afterwards, won't be going to her again. Second time, I had Mildrie. She started out by not introducing herself (she was on the phone leading me back to her massage room) so I did it myself. Then she was on the phone massaging me with one had several times, which I was very disappointed with...then finally when I asked her how long she had been at Hand and Stone, she said 9 years...the place hadn't even been opened that long. Finally, the scheduler scheduled me for 60 minutes, instead of the 90 minutes that I requested for the second massage. Needless to say, I won't be back. Buyer beware. Don't waste you money! I received a "one hour massage" promo in the mail and thought I would try this place. I called for the appointment and was upsold a "15 minute scalp massage add on" for an additional $15. The massage was one of the worst I have received. Sloppy, haphazard, and the therapist would just stop and rest during the procedure. U was massage for 45 minutes. No joke. The 'add on' was putting peppermint oil in my head- and wasn't a 15 minute scalp massage at all. I paid $75 and gave the therapist a very small cash tip as a courtesy. Absolutely terrible. I was grossly disappointed that when I was asked for a review (1 local, 1corporate) I gave a pretty clear evaluation of my bad experience & said I would like someone to contact me before publicly giving a bad review. It's the second time I come to this place and I have to say that I like it. It's not the best massages I had in my life compared to multiple places in the US and Europe BUT the place is new, clean and zen. The staff is welcoming you with a great smile and explains everything quickly without any sales speech, just recommendation. With the membership this is right priced, you get a 1H massage for $49, which is definitely a plus. The place is convenient and the therapist are providing massages at 7PM which is good if you work until then. Finally, Maria and Melissa provided different massages but with a really good technic, I liked both, the ambiance is calm, the music Zen and they use hot towels at the end. I felt really relaxed all the time and peaceful. The massages were not a full hour as expected more 45 min so I keep a star until this is solved. read more

I am really shocked by the assistant managers reaction today. I woke up with a sore throat and cough. With the COVID situation most businesses prefer you not come in when feeling ill. Hopefully I just have a cold, but at this point I don't know. I explained the situation and the assistant manager just stated their policy that all same day appointments are charged. (She said if I get a doctor's note that I have COVID they will reimburse the charge.) I am shocked that they don't care if someone is sick and comes into the business. I feel they don't care about their employees and customers. Another sign of their attitude is that all the therapists I have liked have quit. I understand businesses are trying to do their best under this pandemic however, this place has NO EMPATHY for their customers .I needed to cancel my contract since my doctor recommended that I be extra careful during this COVID time due to health reasons. Spoke to manager, explained situation and she just said ; sorry but you signed a contract and we need to charge you a cancellation fee plus the two months you haven't used. My gym contract was canceled with no upcharges and I will definitely recommend them for understanding a person's health situation. BEWARE when you sign up to this place , no sympathy here! Horrible service canceled one of two massages that we scheduled at same time as a couple. We had to get baby sitter this was planned for a week. Tried to see if they would try and move someone else for us to take their spot because of are kids it's not easy to get away, and she would not said that's not fair...... wouldn't even try so I cancel the other one and she had the nerve to tell me she will have to charge the cancelation fee which is a percent of service. This place was very clean and the staff professional and friendly. I highly recommend Adalys for a deep tissue massage. She is excellent and very attentive to your needs. The introductory offer for new clients is $59.95 for 50 min then $89.95 thereafter unless you join. I will be back next winter. read more

My wife & mother had a massage at this place since we were staying at the Hyatt. My mom requested a female therapist 24 hours before hand (for a hot stone massage) and my wife requested a male therapist (custom massage). Unfortunately they were not able to accommodate those requests but did not have the courtesy to tell them until the time of their appointment. This establishment turned my spa day into a disaster. I have had a hand and stone gift card for years now, I haven't used it. A childhood best friend just passed two weeks ago & I've been a wreck. I'm not from Estero I don't have money like that, I can't just whip up 75 bucks every time I'm stressed to get a massage. So I go to the desk to check out & I quietly && calmly tell the manager how upset I was because I had not gotten what I asked for, this is my first professional massage I've ever gotten && it was not what I asked for (they also knew it was my first time getting one) you would think they'd at least try && make it special.... so the manager bailey who was arrogant as anything told me she couldn't give me anything back I still had to pay & she'll give me a free 15 dollar upgrade ! I was in the area and, found this place online by accident. I had Brian. I own a hair salon, am a gymnast, and a fitness competitor, so, i needed a DEEP tissue ( no sissy stuff for me) anyways i was PLEASANTLY surprised to have got someone who applied ENOUGH pressure to work out the knots in my back/shoulders. I have a membership and cancelled on June 10, 2016. They charged my card again on July 8, 2016. This is unfair business practices and if they don't clear this up I will report them to the BBB. Don't sign up for a membership they are horrible to work with and never call back with a response and no one will call back from corporate headquarters. The owners are unavailable and you have to go through the manager. All owners should be available to their customers. My massage was fair to good. This is very upsetting to me because I have been a good customer and they don't listen to the customer and ignore your request. I signed up for a membership at Hand & Stone and have been very pleased with their service. Some therapists are better than others but all have been good. You get a nice 45-50 minute massage for $50 as a member. It is always very clean and generally on time. My most recent massage was by Alina who did an excellent job. As a nice touch, she warmed her hands before starting. I found the experience to be very relaxing and therapeutic. Found this spa by accident. They are down one of the side roads of the Coconut Point Mall, right behind Talbots. Glad I found them though. Very professional. The hot stone massage was everything it should be - relaxing and soothing. They have lots of add ons to choose from - maybe too many to be overwhelming on your first appointment. Went with the foot scrub which I might skip the next time. Kind of ruined the relaxed mood at the end of the massage. Maybe if it was at the beginning, it wouldn't be so startling. First off they completely blew my mothers appointment. Two "receptionist" were there as we BOTH checked in. We filed out paper work and had a seat. Appointment was at 5 and I did not get taken back until 5:10 and my mother was not acknowledged until she went up to the front desk 5:30. They gave some shit story and did not apologize. This was suppose to be a girls day and something for us to do together and this "spa" completely ruined it. Secondly, I go in at 5:10 plus have to take my clothes off. So let's say she came back in at 5:15 I walked out of the door (after putting my clothes back on) at 5:50. It's suppose to be a 60 minute massage and clearly was not. This is for the fort myers location since yelp doesn't have an adoption for them yet. I had a couples' massage today for my girlfriend and I and the experience really wasn't great. The massage started late and ended a few minutes early, so you really only get 40 mins for the price of an hour. We were asked to fill out a questionare about our preferences, which really weren't taken into account during the massage; my girlfriend asked to focus on her hamstrings and the messuese didn't even touch them. Both of us agreed that the massage felt rushed and transactional where the masseuses seemed to just be going through the motions. When asked if the pressure was OK, we asked for a bit more and they both went 0-100 real quick where we were both in pain. There was no symmetry as my massage was different on each side of my body. Additionally, the overall customer experience dealing with paperwork and the front desk was negative. They nickel and dime you for every little extra with a menu-like form when signing in, including aroma therapy which is really the messuese just putting some oil on a towel and holding it up to your face for a few seconds. At the end of the massage, they give you a full on sales pitch to try to get you to sign up for monthly services. It's extremely inappropriate to pitch a customer after a "relaxing" massage. After we declined, we were pitched again. I will not be going back and I will not be recommending to anyone. read more
