Whale watching and snorkeling boat ride view
Melp D.

I had a blast with the Whale Watching and Snorkeling trip led by Jenna and 2 other crew members! Unfortunately can't upload video here but we saw dolphins and whales so close to our boat very soon after we started the boat ride and the entire 3 hours was magical!

The catamaran we took

My best friend and I booked this excursion for the second day of our trip, and it was amazing! Drinks and food were delicious! Usually I can't eat or won't eat the food they serve on these activities, but my Turkey sandwich was great. In fact, I enjoyed the trip so much, we went back 2 days later and brought 4 friends. I can't say enough about the captain, Kamiko. On both trips her crew provided outstanding service. I'm pretty sure it's because of her that everyone worked so well together. And when I needed to add 2 more people last minute, Eric who runs Hanauma Bay Tours helped us out even though he was headed to church. Obviously I can't recommend this tour enough. I'm hoping to come back to Hawaii with my family, and this tour will be booked again!

We went snorkeling and the fish were sooo pretty! The views are amazing, the gardens areas are pretty and the garden spiders are not poisonous but look scary.

I would say 2.5 Stars We were squeezed in last minute on the snorkel tour and were very thankful, but it seemed Robin was a little unsure of the details and had to call me back ( very friendly though ) . Eric called me back and was very friendly and helpful. We got great snorkeling direction in our way to the bay from our driver, we were excited. Had a great time snorkeling , besides the fact that my fiancé couldn't get a tight seal around his goggles for some reason, but we tried to make due and spent an hour snorkeling. WEAR SUNSCREEN! You will thank me later! I hardly burn but boy was I red when I got home! Only down fall was that the driver (Carl) forgot us and left us at the bay! I had to call him and let him know he was missing two passengers in his tour!! Super frustrating, plus we had to wait for him to turn around, and we didn't even get a 'sorry..' More of a brush off. I understand mistakes happen, but being almost left/stranded can be scary.

Not only does this have an awesome view, but the water is deep enough to jump into below!

We booked the Hanauma Bay and North Shore tour a day in advance and were greeted by the friendliest guy that next morning. Bon Jovy is one of the most jovial and laid back people I have had the pleasure of running into. We did a ton of things through the day (cliff jumped, snorkeled, paddle boarded, chillaxed) and although I'd usually be wiped out, the chats my wife and I had with Bon Jovy throughout the day kept us fully fueled up. If you are looking to book a tour, be sure to ask for Bon Jovy; good times are assured. At the end of the day, I didn't meet a fantastic tour guide, I met a friend who showed me around an island that's just waiting to be explored!

Highly recommended!! Enriching! Uplifting! Cannot miss!! Get ready to immerse yourself in the sand, sun an the sea. Damien was WONDERFUL and he will enchant you with his vast knowledge of Haw'aii. He relaxes you with his refreshing local music selection and his own musical talent. Thanks also for guiding me to an Internet cafe. He will guide you to any wants, needs, or bucket items on your list. Mahalo nui

I did this tour yesterday. Our guide was Serg, and our driver was Paul. They were both great. No issues picking up or dropping off from/to my hotel. We started by going up to the North Shore to see the Pipeline and look at the Volcom surfer house. {If you didn't want to do this and then go swim/ jump off a rock later, they offered an alternative option for $16 (I think) to go hiking and see waterfalls with a separate company (a few in our group chose this option instead of seeing the North Shore- we dropped them off and picked them up later)}. Once at the North Shore, Serg will fill you in on all things surfing- he is very passionate and knowledgeable about this sport and lifestyle. He'll then take you to a spot you can climb a rock and jump off it (15 or 30 feet) into the water below. He was pretty good about explaining how to stay safe. We had lunch at a little farm where if you picked the premium package you could SUP (stand up paddle board) or kayak. There was a selection of Coconut Shrimp, Teriyaki chicken (my pick- it was good), a vegetarian noodle option, pork, and garlic shrimp. Serg also offered PB&J, or a tuna sandwich. You can bring your own lunch as well if you don't want to pay for this, but once on the tour, these are the only options. The portions are large and filling - they come with a side of rice, a small pineapple chunk, and a small scoop of salad. You can pay extra for shaved ice. Afterwards, you start the SUP or kayaking down a 1-mi stretch of calm water. While Serg was out on the water helping, Paul made sure to take pictures from land of everyone participating which I thought was really nice. [A side note that was pretty funny- a premium luxury Hawaii tour group was at the same place eating lunch- made me think that they paid 2x more (or more) for the exact same services- not to mention, we had both Paul and Serg helping out while they only had one guy for a much larger group.] We then went to the Dole Pineapple plantation. It's basically a giant gift shop and while the Dole Whip was good, I was glad that we didn't spend too much more time there. You get to see pineapple plants in the back garden which is neat. They don't grow on trees! Last but definitely not least was Hanauma Bay. A note about transportation: the ride you're in all day can really make or break the tour you take. The bus we spent hours in was air conditioned and standard seating, but comfy. We had a smaller tour group which I'm not sure will always be the case, but the bus didn't smell or anything. Once you get to Hanauma Bay, it seems like no matter the tour you take, you must switch to smaller vehicles. I read beforehand another review with another company wherein the tour all got squished into a small smelly car so I was bracing myself for that to happen here, thinking "it's only a short distance, it'll be fine". Well- North Shore tour bus had *limos* come pick us up! Definitely way better than I was expecting, so roomy, and I felt a little luxurious haha. Anyway, Hanauma Bay was great. I only saw fish- no turtles, eels, seals, etc but it was still really cool. I had an amazing time, I'm so glad I picked this company. I always check reviews beforehand but you never really know how things will turn out. I feel very lucky. Serg kept us entertained the whole time with his knowledge of local agriculture, Hawaiian legends, surfing expertise, and enthusiasm. It's obvious he genuinely loves his job.

View from the top of the hill. Tons of fishes!!

My new novel, DeathCon--a YA horror story releasing in February--takes place in Honolulu, and this journey was so rich with insight and history that I truly felt my spirit connect with the people and the land. They're both hilarious and very knowledgeable! ------------------------------- As a travel agent, I like to recommend yours or experienced that I myself have tried. While 'Im not much of a tour bus enthusiast, to ensure that my clients end up with a good one-- I decided to try Nui Tours. Unfulfilled promises by Jack (the owner): small group, Mercedes Van, all of the stops, snorkeling at a specific beach, we did not want to stop at certain places and were told we could customize, souvenir hats, 2 bottles of champagne, unlimited juices/snacks/drinks, and the discounted price per person. What we got: the bus was 30 minutes late, no one answers the phone number, HUGE OLD TOUR BUS (58 people), we did not get to choose our stops or how long we stopped somewhere, they had water bottles and Pringles (no juice/no champagne/no other snacks that were promised), and on top of several other things-- they charged us full price. WE ARE STILL AWAITING A REFUND of the amount that was overcharged. Jack has lied to us, taken zero accountability, and still refuses to answer the phone. I can't help to think that half of his warrants are for fraud at this point. There is no clear communication and several tour companies show up at the same location, so if you got suckered into these tours-- please verify with each driver to see if your name is on their list. Please choose a different touring company to support. If you have a car rented and need help planning your endeavors, feel free to reach out. Good luck out there!

Driver Mahea greeted us warmly and safely drove the large bus from and to Waikiki. Captain Jerry was informative and included our 6-year-old daughter to "drive" the boat and it was a highlight of her Oahu trip. Ben and Kainoa were friendly, made sure we had the appropriate snorkeling gear/life jackets for the kids, and gave beautiful hula dances. Cyre had great energy and was informative on the boat ride. Flo and Faavae were great in guiding the water activities. We saw dolphins, snorkeled with turtles, enjoyed the boat ride, and appreciated how a little bit of the Hawaiian culture was incorporated into the tour. Thank you to this crew!

We did the turtle tour on 5/13 at 8:30 in the morning. They teach everyone how to use the given gear, they antifog the goggles beforehand and sanitize all the gear well afterwards. They have snacks, water, and ginger ale. We saw two turtles within a couple arms lengths at the surface (you can't touch them but gosh they were so close!). We also saw about seven turtles chilling on the bottom. Tons of reef fish swimming so close to us too. The crew makes sure to point out turtles so you don't miss them. It was my first time in open water and the crew was welcoming from the start. They separate the groups so if you can't swim or are not great at swimming, you can stay back and hold onto a blue mat in the water where they teach you and help you feel comfortable in open water first. Even though I vomited afterwards (yes I took plenty of motion sickness medication ahead of time!), I highly recommend the experience. It's unlike anything else. The crew is so funny, they normalized not being able to swim well or motion sickness so you don't feel embarrassed. They get in the water with you (not all crews do!) and were super attentive, and encouraging. I felt safe enough that I was able to learn, get confident in the water and join the others and I still felt like I had plenty of great snorkeling time. Overall, GREAT company for actually seeing turtles! GREAT for inexperienced swimmers and people who get motion/sea sickness! If you're determined, you can still do it. The crew made me feel safe the entire time! You've got this, you only live once!

I didn't even get off the boat and my son already asked me "can we come back to this same boat again next time!" From the gate B, which is your entrance, make sure you read your additional info after your confirmation email, especially if you are taking a Uber or Lyft, or else you can get dropped off at the main area and have to walk and find gate B! It's a long walk if you do not specify, our u er drive was the one that asked me, what gate sir, or else you have a long walk. Thank god he asked us! So from the gate to the entire experience, it can be overwhelming, it's a lot to do, it's a ton of fun. I rated 4/5 for the snorkeling because it's open ocean vs doing this inside a "bay" You first get a cruise down the waters and learn about the city and the captain t Story tells you a lot of history and the buildings while we are cruising and then we turn around to the play and snorkeling areas! Wow! But knowing my kids they want to also PLAY! Thais is the boat, you have a water trampoline, a water floating board that you legit can lay on or stand on and play balance and or just lay, and a huge slide!!!!! Wow! And drink and snacks are included! We didn't even get a chance to grab a beer! lol (for additional $ on your own) Just look at the view and the photos. So this entire experience is just 5/5 We booked through TripAdvisor. This is 100% recommend, since this is also at open ocean, it's easier if you can swim and not afraid of the waters. They do offer life jackets and self blown floatation vests, your choice. Must do!!!!! See you next time!
