Stopped into Hanalei Market a couple of times when I was in Princeville. It's a lovely market with very nice staff. Had a nice laugh with one of the checkers the last time I was there. They have a great selection of fruits, vegetables and shelf stable foods. They also have a lovely cafe at the back of the shop where they serve coffee drink and some hot food items. I had a jalapeño cheese bagel with butter and my partner had a lox bagel. We were both very happy. They also carry cold case items to go like vegetarian spring rolls and mango chia seed pudding. Wonderful market with fresh groceries, nice selection of items and even fresh flowers. Saw a beautiful bunch of sunflowers including rare white sunflowers! The cold sesame noodles are amazing! Great Little Market in the Heart of Princeville Such a gem! This place can get a tad (okay, really) busy on the weekends, but it's worth the wait. They've got fresh poke bowls, Korean deli-style chicken, and a great variety of sides. Prices are totally reasonable -- comparable to mainland grocery stores -- and the selection is fantastic: local baked goodies, fresh sushi, and plenty of grab-and-go meals or snacks for a quick, fresh lunch. Customer service was 5 stars -- super friendly and helpful staff who make you feel welcome. 10/20/23 One small market in the heart of Hanalei right across from another market, Big Save. I have to admit, it sure has a pretty good inventory of conventional supermarket goods, from fresh local produce to bulk self serve items (nuts) to cleaning solutions. What's more, There's a coffee shop in the rear that also serve up sandwiches & pastries. At the front side facing the main drag (street), there's a designated patio with a countertop & bar stools to enjoy your coffee & snacks. From what I recall before the pandemic, this location used to be a "natural"/vegan or living foods type of market. I notice more & more as the years progressed, many places in Kaua'i do not stay in business for too long except for a few choice places that have stood the test of time (especially mom& pops or small businesses types). This market looks pretty good with the things they offer to locals & tourists alike, I sincerely hope it lasts. read more

The shops are galleries, clothing, native crafts plus multiple casual dining options. The shopping area has plaques explaining the history of the native people as well as information on the land and topography. Very well presented! I stood at the counter trying to buy a few bags of coffee beans for 10 minutes while she didn't acknowledge me a single time. I can tell you immediately what people are going to bitch about and that is the price. Yes it's freakin' expensive, but not more expensive then other "primarily organic, know where your food comes from" type grocery store. I'm not a local, but if I was I would probably make this my go to grocery store. What I liked about the produce section was they let you know what was local and what wasn't. Honestly the majority of the produce wasn't local, which was ok, but tonight I wanted to make a salad with all locally grown food, which was possible. I had 4 different questions which I asked 4 different people and all came back with great knowledge to answer my questions. The cashier was super helpful and easy on the eyes. I'll be back to talk to her before I leave. I am amazed at how much they have crammed into such a small space. The pictures you see from folks are extremely generous in the size that they look compared to the actual space. I like to say, "it's so small you have to go outside to change your mind." My recommendation is never go into a store like this without a list and sticking to the last and then get our. Otherwise you'll spend your whole paycheck, like I do at Whole Foods. read more

On our way to Waimea Canyon on the other side of the island, we stopped in here to get some breakfast for the drive. Such a cute little place. It is a small market/ grocery store with lots of health items, juices, and sodas. They also have freshly brewed coffee and breakfast foods. Pastries too! I decided on the spinach quiche and it was very tasty. The crust was nice and flaky and the ingredients tasted fresh. Also had a delicious iced coffee and a cinnamon roll type pastry. Everything tasted so good. the people working were super nice. It was a busy morning so the service was a little slow, but that is island life I suppose. Definitely recommend. read more

It's a place to pick up some vegetarian or vegan groceries when you are on that side of the island. It's a little more expensive, but it is in the heart of Hanalei. They don't seem to carry any ready to go vegan food, you are better off going to one of the food trucks when they are open for a meal. read more

My husband ordered a smoothie. It was perfect. Not sweet- just fruit. Made with local coconut juice and other fruits. I had an iced coffee. I'm sorry to say that the drip coffee at this market is the worst and the most expensive - $5.50! Regular drip coffee that's not even organic.
