Nice NY art in the room.

Great hotel! Staff was nice. Everything looks and feels new. Very clean room and bathroom! Another plus is free breakfast! It does get a little crowded during breakfast. Other guests can get a little pushy so make sure to go early to avoid the crowd! Small Inside pool with outside seating and the gym were nice.

We all enjoyed our stay here last time, therefore I reserved another four rooms for my family again since we had to attend another family affair in the area later this year. I used my Marriott Bonvoy hotel points to book all four king bedrooms for Saturday through Monday for a two night weekend. Each of the four hotel rooms cost me 49k points each or 196k points for four rooms for two weekend nights. Our Saturday check-ins and Monday morning check-outs went smoothly.I had not problem using my points. The parking lot was busy when we arrived on Saturday, but had less vehicles on Sunday evening. I had a standard king bedroom #233 located on the second floor rear of the hotel overlooking the construction of new buildings. See my pics. My room had a small refrigerator. The bathroom shower had liquid dispensers mounted on the shower wall to dispense liquid shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. I was disappointed that I was not upgraded to a suite as I was upgraded earlier this year, since I also reserved four hotel rooms earlier this year. My room had a 43-inch LG flat screen HDTV. We also again enjoyed the adjacent and connected Bonefish Grill restaurant. We will likely return here again if we have to attend another family affair in the area. I like the location of this restaurant to my other family and friends in Bergen County.

I did not have to wait on a long line.(I did check in online but still had to check in at the desk to get a room key.) My room was huge, clean, with comfortable beds and lots of storage space as well as a roomy kitchen. I had requested non feather pillows on the app and they were on the beds as I had hoped! There was a cute free breakfast every day. The area was always kept clean. The gym is lovely with plenty of up to date equipment. Oh... and you can stream HBO for free!! Can't wait to return.

The breakfast buffet was excellent! Every day they had different dishes. Great variety. There were plenty of options for people who don't eat pork and even for vegetarians. Usually the only protein is eggs. But they also had chicken sausage, vegetarian sausage, and a yogurt bar. Of course there was the usual continental breakfast fare: waffle maker, assorted cereals, assorted breads (bagels, muffins, etc), fruit, and juices. Although there are some empty spaces at this minute I snapped some of my pictures, when one thing ran out they were quick to replenish it. And they made sure to keep food stocked until the end of breakfast (sometimes buffets start emptying things out well before closing time). This was definitely appreciated by those who came a few minutes before 10! The space for dining is a bit small. Every day except one, it was very crowded. But they do provide trays so you can take the food to your room, which I did each day. Having trays was awesome--such a small thing but made a big difference! They also have a hot drink area available all day: coffee, hot chocolate, and tea (although the flavors are basic).

I stayed here because I wanted to be away from the masses and crowds, and the Waterstone Inn fit the bill perfectly. The inn is literally across from the lake, so makes for a perfect summer or weekend getaway. The inn provides kayaks and canoes free of charge to go out on the lake. I communicated with Maureen before my stay and she was very quick to answer any questions. She was an absolute delight to converse with throughout my stay. She mentioned they weren't sure if they'd reopen after 2020, but they invested more money into the property and made some renovations to make the place more comfortable for guests, despite being an older property. All rooms/suites have a private bathroom and locks for privacy. I stayed in the spacious Bradford Suite on the 3rd floor, but all the rooms they offered seemed equally delightful to stay in when I took a peek. The place is so small and cozy that I didn't encounter any other guests except during breakfast hours (I think only one other room was occupied mid-week). Breakfast is included and is delicious...the food is freshly made to order. There are plenty of places to sit for breakfast whether it be a couch in the lounge, the window-side tables with lake views, or the front porch. The nautical and lake themes throughout the property were very well thought out and tasteful to give you a "getting away" type of feel. The porch area is welcoming and the perfect place where you can enjoy spectacular views of the action on the lake. The property has a parking lot on property directly adjacent to the inn which always felt safe and secure. The town of Greenwood Lake on the NJ/NY border is very cute, and was the filming location of a lesser known recent movie starring Morgan Freeman called the Magic of Belle Isle. All staff I encountered were amazingly welcoming, so I wouldn't hesitate to run as small businesses like these deserve to be supported.

The rooms are cozy, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities that you need. Our room, the Montclair was full of windows, and we had a full view of the lake. The homemade breakfasts were so savory and yummy and let me not forget to mention the unlimited coffee, tea and lemonade that was provided throughout the entire stay. The location is close to many restaurants, shops, and the beach. We had fun kayaking out on the lake. Kayaks and canoes are available on the premises at no additional cost. This was our first time staying in Greenwood Lake and we simply loved it. Our stay at the Waterstone Inn added to our amazing weekend getaway full of everlasting memories. Despite letting the front desk know I had already checked in and was charged for the night, including the incidental fee, I was still met with intrusive questions and was prompted multiple times I would have the standard incidental fee added. Confident these fees already showed up as transactions on my credit card, I asked the front desk to check their database and of course, the fees had already been assessed. I didn't make it a big deal, however, online check-in exists for a reason; to minimize such interactions by simply showing your photo ID, which I did. The quality of my guest room was not commensurate to the newly renovated hotel which is advertised online. The bathroom was dated. My toilet had a malfunctioning ballcock that restricted water flow, and had it not been for my handyman skills, this could have easily turned into me having to switch rooms which wasn't an option for me. It was late, the front desk was checking in other guests when I left the lobby, and it simply wasn't worth the engagement. The sofa also had ripped upholstery and its attached bed was worn. But for what it's worth, the night's stay served its purpose. I did appreciate the onsite parking. Overall an OK experience and I will visit again when in the area.

Located in Montclair, NJ, just…read moreoutside NYC, the decor in this boutique hotel is sort of 'artsy Ralph Lauren'--classic plaids mixed with modern art and sparkly modern accent pieces. Each detail has been considered and seemed intended to delight: from the whimsical portraits of famous Georges in the lobby, to the selection of French pastries and cheeses at breakfast, and the Dyson hairdryers in the guest rooms. There were fun surprises at every turn. Where else can you eat a yogurt parfait in an adorable Emma Bridgewater French pedestal bowl under a large portrait of AOC? As someone who is a big fan of sweets, I was just tickled by the sight of the colorful selection of candy in the "secret" candy closet (which although perhaps is a poorly kept secret, was a surprise to me!), as well as the Häagen-Dazs bars in the ice cream freezer. We stayed in the Harry room which was just off the library and featured a cleverly curated collage of framed photos of famous Harrys--Harry Houdini, Harriet Tubman, Debbie Harry, and some less easily identifiable Harrys, which generated conversation (was Buddy Holly's name Harry?). I understand each of the rooms is decorated similarly, each with a different name. We enjoyed tea and cake in the library at tea time. The George offers a complimentary wine service every evening with several selections of wine as well. What an experience--a solid five stars--I hope to return soon.
