Friendly, efficient and accomidating. Always nice to reserve a room when I'm in the neighborhood. They also do business meetings and rent party rooms for a holiday event. read more

The water pressure in the shower is light. If you're like me, then this is a dealbreaker. If it feels like water coming out of a watering can, then it ain't for me. But aside from that buzzkill it's a good hotel. Rooms have been refreshed and there are plenty of onsite amenities for the business traveler as well as a family of sightseers. Lots of parking around the building so ask for a room next to a side entrance/exit. The location isn't ideal since you're on Route 17 so navigating during rush hour can be a hassle. This would be the second big bummer outside of the water pressure. Fridge in every room though... read more

We had a very quick stay here at the Courtyard. We arrived quite late into town and the front desk person was very nice. We received two bottles of water and cleaning towelettes. It was a smooth process. Only thing is that it is tucked of the highway and the signage is not great to find the hotel. read more

I'm so DISGUSTED with the management and lack of sympathy at this "hotel". I reserved a $300 reservation at this hotel and 4 hours later, I had to cancel due to the fact that my Father (who is ill with cancer) decided he was too sick this day to make the trip to NJ from NH. I called 4 HOURS shortly after I scheduled the reservation two separate times and was denied my refund request and was charged $140!! No where on their website does it say that you HAVE to pay a cancellation penalty after 4 hours of booking your reservation. ***MAKE SURE YOU DON'T MAKE A MISTAKE AT THIS HOTEL. *** read more

It's exactly what I expect of a Courtyard Marriott. Comfy bed, clean room, Bistro serving Starbucks coffee. Efficient staff and check in process- we checked in using electronic key via the app on my husband's phone-so cool! Convenient location for a stop by. I'm happy. Only thing is the confusing entrance and exit. That was a little frustrating. read more

Standard Courtyard experience. Decent staff. Hotel and rooms were clean. Room was surprisingly quiet considering being located on a very busy highway! Lots of shopping and places to eat just a short drive away. read more

Awesome place to stay. Every member of the staff I met in my one week stay was friendly and helpful. Unlike other hotels I've stayed in recently, they didn't sacrifice the bathroom space in order to provide the spacious room. Comfortable bed in a large room, great water pressure in and equally large bathroom and the most effective blackout drapes I've come across and thoroughly appreciated as I was working overnight and sleeping during the day. Downstairs, they have The Bistro which serves breakfast and dinner. It has a good variety on the menu at very reasonable prices. Included in the menu is also a collection of some of the more popular Starbucks drinks, which saved me the trouble of having to go elsewhere for my fix. Would definitely recommend this location. read more

The experience in this hotel was nothing but pleasant. The staff at front desk was very welcoming and nice. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. One thing though was that the room promised a microwave and refrigerator on the website where i booked but when we arrived there was only a fridge and no microwave :( The pool was very nice too. A good way to calm down and relax; the outside seating area was well kept. I also loved that i got my room on the second floor! We liked it so much that we have booked a second stay. Thumbs up for Courtyard by Marriott Paramus read more

We stayed here one night while taking delivery of a new Tesla. It was nothing to write home about, but it was definitely a decent place to stay. some items in the building were dated and could use some refreshing, but overall still very clean, and the Business Center was greatly appreciated. read more

This doesn't look like a large hotel, but it is a very busy hotel. With only four floors it can take forever to get one of the two to pick you up. The lobby area was always hopping. Look for the Syms and Lenscrafters entrances as the hotels entrance is not clearly marked. Rooms were clean and comfy. Had to call down for linens, blankets and pillows for the sofa bed and they did arrive quickly. Free wi-fi is a plus. Good central location, but if you are not from the area you will want to know that there is a NJ blue law for Bergen County preventing retails sales on Sunday. That's right-no malls, no discount stores, no home improvement stores. NOTHING retail is open on Sunday! read more

This HOTEL gets 5 stars 1st for allowing a DAD to check in at 10:30am on a Saturday morning during the summer.. Perfectly serviceable hotel. Not the worst or best place ever. It is in a great location, if you have a car. Unfortunately, the entrance to the property is not labeled at all, and if you miss the turn, it's a four-mile detour. If you don't have a car, DO NOT STAY HERE. You cannot walk anywhere. There is a Jersey Mike's "across the street." The "street" being Route 17. So, unless you think Jersey Mike's is worth dying over, you shouldn't try to cross Route 17. Probably will never have occasion to have to stay here again. If I did, I would stay in a more walkable location. read more

This marriot is getting 2 starts because of how nice the guy who checked us in was. Besides that, here's why it's getting a negative review : we walk into the room, it looks nice and clean, we pull back the blanket from one of the queen beds and the sheets and pillows are stained with make up, food and who knows what else. The toilet had pre all over the rim of the toilet. I'll post of view pics of how the rooms look though. read more

Hotel Quiet, clean and with plenty of parking, this is a Marriott property for sure. I tend to use Marriott as my second choice (I love Hyatt) and since our trip called for a NJ visit, this location was very convenient, We had a seriously helpful front desk person who helped us check in, got our keys and were on our way in seconds. Rooms were in excellent shape and the wifi connected in seconds - awesome. Shower pressure and temps were very good for a hotel - so all in all a good place to lay your head if in the area. be warned though- this location is tucked right off the exit of the Garden State Pkwy and Route 17. If you come off the ramp too fast, you can zoom right by it... then be prepared to do one of those crazy ass NJ turns that take 10 miles to accomplish. Plenty of parking all around. read more

The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. We arrived around midnight and was able to check in seamlessly. They also were helpful with extending the check out time, finding me a wine opener and also a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste. The rooms were very comfy and pretty big, with a couch and office chair as well. The only drawback I would say is that it's next to the highway so there's really no view and it can get noisy at times. read more

This is the best Courtyard by Marriott I've ever stayed at! Normally I'm not impressed by CM's but this one is so cute, so clean and the staff are so detail oriented, I couldn't help but be very impressed. First off, I stayed here right after the xmas season. Their holiday decorations were still up. They decorated the front desk with cute ceramic holiday houses laid on a fake snow blanket covered in snow and lit from behind w/lights. There were also complimentary peppermint sticks, m&m cookies, and HOT tasty apple cider! Xmas music was playing and w/their two fireplaces and other holiday decorations, their main lobby felt very warm and inviting. Their lobby is very big and always very clean. They set the tables the evening before. There's a small business center w/free printing and faxing complete w/a fireplace. The lobby has detailed maps of all stores surrounding route 17, which is useful for both tourists and locals alike! There's a small area that sells microwaveable meals like frozen burritos, lean cuisines, ice cream and drinks as well as candy, chips, and other microwaveable goodies like soup, chef boyardee, mac n cheese, etc. A microwave is put out for the night, which came in handy for my popcorn. Indoor heated swimming pool. 'nuff said. The rooms are pristine clean, bright, and modern. Everything looked new, from the crisp white clean sheets, to the spic n span bathroom. The shower curtain was not only very clean, but matched perfectly the framed pictures in the bathroom - a rich dark blue .. really what hotel goes out of their way to match the decor w/the linen? Same goes for the bed sheets and the framed decor in the main room. The shower head was huge and felt like rain fall. There was also an area to sit and bathe in the tub as well. Bathroom was spacious. The main room was modern, complete with a flat screen tv, nice digital alarm clock, mini fridge and a modern thermostat that worked really well n heated the room within minutes. Automatic lock upon closing the door. On my last day there, a voicemail was left on the phone asking if we needed anything since my last day was the next day.. which I thought was a nice touch. The attention to detail and extreme cleanliness of this hotel is worth every penny, a lil luxury for a good value. read more

Let me start this review by saying that it takes an amazing experience for me to rate a hotel highly. Hence only 3 stars. The rooms were recently remodeled and the bed was comfortable, but the heating and air in our room was blowing cold despite turning it off (overnight lows in the 30's - so not warm outside). That was weird. Others in our group had issues with hot water. And don't even get me stated on the terribly overpriced "Bistro"! $8 for a beer...seriously... This is not a personal attack on this particular hotel, I apparently need the experience to be close to perfect to enjoy a stay away from home. Maybe I'm too demanding. Not really sure. But I certainly didn't hate or even dislike it here. If there were half stars - probably 3.5 read more

Back again for another family event in NJ. Rooms are pretty much the same. Well maintained and clean. Service at the front desk is warm and welcoming. Area for improvement is the cafe. The slowness is due to insufficient staffing read more

Last week on a NY trip, I was feeling more flush with points than $$, so I went a-huntin' for point stretcher awards and was rewarded with a brand spankin' new Courtyard by Marriott in Paramus. Perfectly positioned a few minutes off the GW Bridge, I got free parking and a 25 minute drive to my appointment in the Fashion District, where parking was anything but free... This just-opened property had a redemption rate that was 1/4 of a standard night in the city, so you can stay a couple of extra days and have plenty left over for all of the new Broadway shows. Hot breakfast buffet is an extra $10 and they also have a decent Fitness Room and hot tub. They're close to the outlets...didn't have a chance to go, but they're rumored to be good. read more

Short and sweet: Located right at the crux of the parkway and rt 17 offers pros (convenience) and cons (noise). Friendly staff, complementary water, tea, cookies, and Internet. The gym is great for a small space but they could add lighter weights (under 10lbs) and a physioball. The pool is small and has a wheelchair lift. Standard rooms are large and comfy, though they're noisy from road traffic and hallway noise. read more

I booked my birthday celebration through Expedia at the Courtyard by Marriott's location in Paramus NJ in January 2020. Due to last minute changes, I thought I would need to cancel my reservation. I spoke to an Expedia representative who helped me process my cancellation. I called back about an hour later when I realized I would be able to keep the reservation. The Expedia representative had me hold on the line while she got in touch with the hotel manager. The representative then said that they had reinstated my hotel reservation and that I wouldn't ave any issues with payment. She also said the hotel waived cancellation fees. To double check, I called the hotel manager myself and she reassured me that everything was processed and that I didn't owe anything. I checked out of the hotel after two nights and was advised by front desk that I was all set and didn't owe anything. I was charged by Expedia, as expected, then I noticed a partial credit posted to my credit card, and figured that the hotel and Expedia had worked out the total on my hotel reservation. Three months after the booking (and during a pandemic), I was contacted by a manager at the Courtyard, who emailed me stating that Expedia didn't pay for one of my nights and asked how many nights I stayed total. I asked her to please liaise with Expedia directly, which she ignored and asked me again how many nights I stayed. As she has access to hotel records, why did she need me to tell her this info, especially three months after the fact? I contacted Expedia first and they were completely unhelpful, and told me that they were never allowed to reinstate any cancellation. According to them, this reservation doesn't exist. They told me that I'd need to figure it out directly with the hotel. I pay extra fees to work with Expedia, rather than have to book hotels and travel directly. The representative on the phone just kept repeating that I needed to work it out with the hotel. I called the hotel and explained to the manager what happened back in January, to which she kept repeating, "You owe me money." I expressed my disgust in being charged for something three months later because of both the hotel AND Expedia's negligence to which she replied, "that's Expedia's fault, not mine. If you'd like, I can charge you in two months." ...... Is this not an actual bill, and do I owe it or not? Her attitude was completely dismissive and she even added at the end of our conversation "I was going to charge your credit card without asking, but I felt bad." Excuse me? I am appalled that any vendor would charge my card without my consent! Then when I agreed to pay, they accidentally charged me for both nights, and I had to tell them to correct it! When I received the receipt for this very late charge, the folio receipt showed that I stayed two nights in May. They didn't even have proper record of my stay back in January to charge me for my actual stay! I am disgusted by the way both Expedia and the employees at the Courtyard by Marriott. Due to the negligence of both parties, I had an outstanding debt on my record. As I mentioned, Expedia completely refused to take responsibility, and I spent hours on the phone trying to resolve it myself. I will no longer be doing business with either as this has ruined was was supposed to be a special event for me. NB read more

First off, let me say thank you to Maureen for choosing the perfect room for us! We stayed at the Mariott on New Year's Eve 2015. We were visiting Paramus to shop for baby furniture and I didn't even stop to consider that lots of New Years travelers would be sharing our hotel. When we arrived, I realized how very wrong I was as the lobby was filled with well dressed couples who were clearly going out that night to celebrate. That's awesome and I hope they all had an amazing time, but at 6 1/2 months pregnant I was terrified I would not be getting any sleep that night. Luckily, Maureen upgraded us to a corner sweet where we didn't share walls with anyone, and we didn't hear a peep the entire night! Chris and I both got a fabulous nights sleep and can't thank her enough. This is a nice Mariott, our room with a foldout couch and small kitchenette would be perfect if you were staying for a few days in the area. The room was very clean and bathroom spacious. The bed was comfortable. I will say the fold out couch was a little uncomfortable, just the couch I'm not sure about the bed as we didn't test it. All in all, we would hands down stay here again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! read more

Standard hotel, friendly staff. However our temperature control wasn't really working and the tv had issues-didn't really work well-had to call front desk to have them fix. I'm giving it a 3 for only one reason. I'm not big on walking into a hotel with smokers all over the front entrance. Very clean hotel. Only drawback is its location. Route 17 is very busy highway and difficult to exit and enter.

One of if not the nicest places I've stayed at at this level of hotel....and because I travel quite a bit I do have some experience. Room was fantastic. Clean, new and roomy. I had a double. In addition, the staff could not have been more courteous, especially Nicole at the front desk who just made checking in and out a breeze and granting me a late checkout. Later than I would have asked for. Just to be clear, I'm. It comparing this to a Four Seasons, but compared to other hotels at this level, it's just nicer. Only draw back is the location and having to exit and enter route 17 which is a crazy busy street. However, given the hotels proximity to both it and the Garden State Parkway there was no street noise. Definitely stay here if you can. read more
