Came here twice for weddings . Won't be coming back, the wedding party was hanging out in the lobby and we were told that we had to go back to our rooms like children on a school trip! So trying to be respectful we went outside and sat on the patio area and once again we were scolded by the front desk concierge claiming he could hear us inside! Completely unrealistic he was upset he couldn't go in the back and take a nap, and people were having fun on his watch ... here for a good time instead treated like 4 graders! read more

Unless you like dark curly hair in your bath tub, don't stay here. The bathtub had so much hair in it, there is no way it had been cleaned any time recently. The carpet was also filthy and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. The heater also made a weird sound, all night long. Can't stress enough how disgusting it was to see dark black someone else's hair in the bath tub. Oh yeah, and the front desk people were not very friendly. read more

If you are expecting the boutique style Hampton Inn you will be let down! The entrance gives that updated feel but the rooms are old furnishings and carpet. Other hotels around wished I would have stayed somewhere else for the price. read more

It's a Hampton Inn...clean, basic, reliable choice. Usually peaceful and quiet when you need to catch some shut-eye. Decent breakfast is included in the cost of the room: oatmeal, eggs, make-your-own waffle, etc. Wi-fi. Small fitness room. I have stayed at this one several times on my way to or from somewhere else. Generally the staff have been wonderful--with a recent exception, just one evening front desk guy who was rather condescending and dismissive. So, I am not going to hold that against the whole establishment. The place is showing some slight wear--frayed shower curtains, door mechanisms that don't quite work right. Rooms with a valley view cost more...but given how little time I spend in a hotel room, and even less of that looking out the window, I am fine with the view of the parking lot. read more

Let me get right to the point about our not so memorable experience staying here for one night. First, DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 135 on the first floor (twin beds & facing the parking lot) because there is strange odor that permeates the whole room - not a fresh smell, a smell that reminds me of sour milk. Management do your guests a favor and spend some time in that room yourself and figure out how to get the smell out - maybe a whole room overall from rugs, new A/C unit to a fresh coat of paint may help. Second, the Room faces the parking lot and we noticed that if a car or truck backed into the parking space and if the driver left the engine running this room will fill up with Carbon Monoxide, not a safe thought. Thirdly, the small refrigerator in the room hummed on and off most of the night so don't think of getting a peaceful nights sleep. The only reason we stayed at this Hotel was because our friends made the room reservations and they wanted to use their points. However, at check-In our friends had an issue as well, instead of giving us rooms on the 2nd floor as requested 2 months prior they gave us rooms on the 1st floor. The reservationist stated that the 1st floor was all booked up and that she couldn't change our rooms. In my opinion I call that "bait and switch" - the only saving grace was that the Hotel charged our friend for one room instead of two. Honestly, I would never come to this Hampton Inn every again, the only positive was that the staff were friendly, and the coffee tasted great. read more

Oh, what a scam, no one gets "coupon"!!, Sept. 26, 2017 Tonight, I again tried to book a "coupon" rate as advertised in PA welcome station and online. The rate was again denied as not available for this night. Nicolle was night auditor and I explained that I booked three days ago and was told just to show the coupon and it will be honored. She blew me off, as she has twice before on this rate. Not the least bit understanding or helpful! I've have stayed in the hotel probably 40 times previous but this will be my last. Her final answer was see the GM in the morning! Satisfaction guaranteed? Not true for me as a Hilton Honors member, I will fill a complaint with corporate when I return home. read more

Honestly this place hooked it up for me. My boyfriend and I stayed here while on a trip to visit our friend who goes to college in town. The Hampton Inn is a great place to stay in hazleton. The staff is friendly, and the hotel is very clean, has a 24 hour fitness center, and a yummy continental breakfast. My only critique would be that the style of the rooms is outdated and so is the attached restaurant. Nice hotel altogether read more

Had a great stay here. 2 nights, Valley View. Awesome. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The room was clean and comfortable (I'm a bit of a germ-a-phobe, so I deeply appreciated this). The view was spectacular, especially at sunset. We also really enjoyed the complimentary cookies and the outdoor seating area. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and relax. Would totally stay here again. read more

We love Hampton Inns, we stay there 6 or 7 times a year, but last weekend in Hazleton, PA everything went wrong. We stayed Saturday and Sunday night. We were just there two weeks before and we had a great room in the new remodeled 3rd level. In fact, we requested the same room, no problem they said. When we checked in the room was not available. We were given a smaller room with 2 beds, no lounge chair (if we would had 1 bed we would have more space) The bathroom had a sliding door with no stop. Almost got locked in, could not get the door open. After finally getting out we let the front desk know, they promised it would be taken care of, which never happened. When returning to our room, we picked up two bottles of water and was told it was $5. We have always received two bottles when we check in. Not this time, we were told the free water was for Diamond Members only, which we are. He then reluctantly gave us the water. When we got to the room the electronic key would not work. Back downstairs to get new keys. He said "cards burn out" it's normal. Not the best weekend. read more

I have to give this hotel 5/5 not because its a high end hotel of course but because it was an excellent value for the money. We made our stop there to go to the Bloomsburg Fair which is about 35 mins from there as the Bloomsburg hotels sell out fast and spike their rates this week every year. We booked two rooms ($99 each!) because we have three teenage daughters who can no longer share a double bed. We asked that they be near us and they gave us side by side rooms which was perfect. My girls loved that the wifi was free and seemed to work well. Rooms were clean with updated furniture, soft bed and good pillows. Shower had good water pressure and they have neutrogena shampoo/conditioner. Free coffee and tea 24 hrs in the lobby which is convenient and had a nice selection of teas and creamers. The best part of our stay was when we went to breakfast. As always, breakfast is complimentary and open until 10. It's your typical breakfast with turkey sausage, ready made cheese omelets, waffle maker, yogurt, french toast strips, oatmeal, cereal and plenty of pastries/bagels etc. but the best part was they had an outdoor terrace which overlooked a beautiful valley. Stunning fall views. If it wasn't Hazleton (which is definitely a stop over place as there is not much to do close by) I would have paid double just for the view. Ask for the valley view otherwise you have Rt 81 on the other side although the noise wasn't bothersome at all. Sound proof rooms, didn't even hear my girls and all their noise next door. If I had to find a complaint it would be that although it states in the bathroom that toiletries including toothpaste are complimentary, when we asked for toothpaste we were told that they were for sale!? This kind of threw me but it was late and I didn't want to bother the manager over toothpaste. There is an outdoor pool, which I didn't see or use and a fitness center that we didn't get to use either but I assume they are both upgraded as the hotel seemed newer. Definitely a great hotel to stop at for an overnighter on your way to the fair!! read more

All of the rooms comforter's stuffing had formed into softball sized lumps. Here for a wedding and everyone's room had the same issue. Housekeeping did not remove the disposable plates from the continental breakfast we brought back to the room. For $90 a night I think we would have been just as good at the $50 motel down the street. read more

Stayed here for a friend's wedding Memorial Day weekend 2017. The decor is nice. We stayed on the second floor, parking lot side. Hallways smelled like a bowling alley (smoke & funk). We called in our reservation months ahead of time and were told to call "day of" for early check-in. We called that morning (4 hours in advance) and were told NO early check-in; that check-in was at 3pm. We arrived at 2 and asked again. We were told "maybe your room will be ready by 3." Maybe? It was not ready until 3:45?! We had a wedding rehearsal we had to be at and needed to use our room. Ugh. Fine. Beds are so squishy it was like sleeping on a bean bag, not the most pleasant. They RAN OUT of breakfast the second morning of our stay. The hotel was FULLY BOOKED and they only had one waffle iron?? Power went out second day as well. NO generators on the property. Wow. Central Pa and no back up source of power. Staff seemed clueless about how to problem solve for room delays and breakfast. We actually had to tell/ask staff to make more waffle batter after all other breakfast foods had been depleted. Also had no emergency lighting in common bathrooms during power outage. read more

Never experienced this. DIRTY SHEETS. They had not been cleaned when we checked in. If we hadn't said something, they would not have been changed. And, we were asked if we wanted to change them. AC barely works, no soap, had to ask. And room had parking lot view. Never again. read more

Best hotel in this area! The back has a fantastic view with deck, fire pit and outdoor pool. We got the King Suite w/ fireplace and valley view and it was clean and very spacious (and includes a refrigerator, microwave, sink and dinette table). I also had a few other standard rooms for family members and they were nice as well; again, getting the valley view room was worth the additional cost for the standard rooms and the view from those was better then the king suite given where it was located on the floor. Free wifi, and hot breakfast included. Lobby has complimentary coffee and tea, fruit-infused water and fresh baked cookies, and a "suite shop" that has individual food and beverage items you can charge to your room (including frozen dinners and ice cream). The "Top of the 80s" restaurant was also good and easy to access from within the hotel when it was raining outside; also great views from there. Overall, convenient to major roads and local stores. What made our stay truly great, though, was Todd the manager on duty. At check-in, we had a detail which he immediately resolved. During our stay, he was extremely pleasant and attentive, especially when we had an older family member not feeling so well after a family outing. He somehow always seemed to be on duty and on the lookout to make sure everyone was happy and had what they needed. Thank you, Todd! read more

I have been staying here for a number of years with various family members when we attend family reunions, etc. in Sugarloaf. The staff has always been very pleasant and helpful, the views wonderful, the rooms clean with lots of pillows, clean linens, and comfortable mattresses. The included breakfast has improved steadily over the years with something for everyone. Last year our family party was held here at the Hampton Inn and everything was delightful. They also have a really nice outdoor pool and a fitness center which was also clean. The price is very reasonable and a restaurant is on site. read more

We were greeted warmly by the front desk staff after a long day of traveling. They shared with us that there was a NASCAR race in Pocono, thus the reason for so many hotels being sold out. The decor and carpet in the hallway appeared to have been updated recently. Unlike other reviews, we didn't notice a "smoky" smell. Our room with two queen beds on the 1st floor was very clean. The morning breakfast was standard and just fine. The breakfast staff were keeping the area clean and restocking items. Great view from the patio! I know the hotel cannot control the behavior of guests, but someone/some people staying on the 1st floor let their room doors slam all night long. Perhaps the hotel can consider the noise and echo and make mechanical changes, but the rudeness of the guests letting their doors slam was ridiculous. I don't blame the hotel. We travel all the time for work and for fun, so we are accustomed to hotel life. However, this episode of door slamming was among the worst. read more
