Renovation done right. Although when I first walked in and saw that the entire first floor was under construction, we quickly changed our mind about this hotel when we got to our room. They put us on the second floor and a pet friendly room, and it was quiet and comfortable. Brand new carpeting on the second floor. The front desk service was great and friendly. Breakfast was also good. Scrambled eggs, instead of the usual hampton inn egg patty. The location is great right off of seventy five. No water to purchase. I will not stay here again. With the perks being lowered for Hilton Honors and no free water at check in for basic reward levels, it's obvious they are not longer courting the casual traveler. Great experience from start to finish. The digital check in process made it super simple to park and head straight to our room. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The entire hotel was extremely clean. Even the out door areas were spotless. Keep in mind this is an older hotel so some things are a bit dated. Everything was clean and in good condition. The room itself was really unique in its layout. Typically hotel beds have window on the left or right side but the room I had the bed faced the window. Small detail but it really changed the feel of the room. If you stay, I hope your experience is a good as mine. read more

My family stayed here, along with a traveling wrestling team. The hotel was was clean, with nice amenities. The breakfast was a great help before rushing to the tournament. Our room was comfortable and we slept well. The AC was easy to adjust, which was a plus. I really liked the lobby area, perfect for socializing or getting work done. The staff was friendly, and there are a variety of options for dining in the area. It is a convenient stop off of the highway. We would definitely consider staying there again. read more

The rooms have been renovated and were quite comfortable. My brother and I got settled in our room when we realized the AC wasn't cooling the room. Mitch was on duty that night and he took care of the situation . Mitch was able to move us to another room (hotel was full that night), he checked the new room making sure AC was working properly before delivering us the room keys. Mitch had us taken care immediately and the new room was perfect for our nights stay. read more

Upon arrival in Ocala on the 26th of June, my wife, service dog, and I planned to stay one night at the Hampton. While checking in, I registered my wife as an additional guest and informed the front desk of the presence of my service dog. Fast forward to June 8th and as I'm reviewing bills I see I've been charged for my service dog! I contact the Hampton and the person on the phone states she will notify the manager who will contact me the following day. The following day there was no answer so I called again asking for reasoning behind the pet fee to which I am told the manager will call me back. After hearing nothing I called this morning to get an answer and am told that I "did not tell the front desk about my 'guest' (my wife) and did not mention a dog being with me" both of which I did while registering on the first night. After hanging up I called Hilton customer care and spoke with an operator who confirmed my wife is listed and that I was charged for my service animal. It would seem reasonable that they would refund the $75 without a problem in order to keep a customer, but that is not the case. Not only has the manager failed to return my calls, but someone has added their own version of the truth concerning the registration of my wife. This location will not be revisited by my family, and anyone with a service animal - particularly a veteran such as myself - should refrain from staying here. Lastly, the initial room we were given (426) had dust in the AC vents so after a few days we were required to request a room change as my service animal was getting bumps throughout her body due to an allergic reaction. Moreover, there was white hair matted down throughout the rug in the room, indicating that it is used by people who own dogs. We greatly appreciated the kindness of the front desk in moving us into another room next to the one we were in after notifying them of our situation. So, we were placed in the room next door (424) where the bathroom light and TV were inoperable so we requested their on-site tech to come fix it the following day. I found this location to be convenient for the needs of my family, but next time I will drive 20-30 minutes and pay more at another location. read more

I have always been a fan of Hampton Inn, but this location didn't appeal to me. Check in was easy, as I had already picked our room through on-line check in. The lobby is inviting and the staff was friendly. Our room was dreary, and not comfortable. The pillows were uncomfortable for sleeping and the bedding was as well. The TV may have been the smallest TV I have ever seen in a hotel room. It was so far away from the bed, and since it was so small, it was hard to even watch. Our bathroom had peeling wallpaper, and mold and hair in the shower. None of this is typical of a Hampton Inn. The breakfast was nice, and very typical of what I have encountered in the past. read more

Place is under construction. Checked in and when we got to our room there were 3 construction workers doing who knows what in our room. Kind of unnerving and we got stuck in an old room with malfunctioning air conditioning. Suggest you wait until construction is finished. Stay at many Hilton properties - many of them Hampton Inns. Overall, this location is just like the others. That's what we like - consistancy. The one thing I have to comment about is the size of the TV in the room. It was like a 32". (See picture). With the cost of TVs today, they could really afford to spend a few dollars and upgrade these rooms. read more

This hotel is just ok.. It did seem awfully pricey for the area and what it offered, but I was tired and just wanted to get some sleep before started the long drive back up again. The front desk was very friendly and the shower was good. The best was comfy as well. There was a lot of noise from the outside that made it a little difficult to get to sleep. read more

Very nice hotel located at a busy exit off I-75 just north of the FL turnpike. Many food choices as well as fuel and light shopping. Modern new style Hampton Inn with nice rooms and wide hallways with decorative carpeting. Room HVAC is controlled by a modern wall thermostat. The bathrooms are large with walk-in showers and hand rails. The rooms are very clean with a very soft bed. There is a microwave and refrigerator in every room as well as coffee maker with all the desired products. The breakfast area when I stayed was well stocked and well taken care of. The eggs were the normal Hampton fake powered eggs (fake eggs) and there were round sausage patties available. Waffle grill was available as well. Cakes and bagels of different types were available. Oatmeal had the consistency that it should. Coffee was hot and creamer was available. Don't take all this for granted because this was one of the best stocked and clean breakfast areas for a Hampton Inn! They had 6 luggage carts available in the lobby. The pool area was very clean as well. I would rate this Hampton Inn in the top 10% of all the Hampton's I've stayed in. read more

Very nice, clean hotel. This was our girls night out staying place. It's right off the interstate so really easy to find and get too. The lounge area to the right when you walk in, is absolutely amazing looking. Huge ceiling, t.v.'s gorgeous pictures of horses. The room was extremely clean, and smelled clean. The beds were so comfortable. I get nervous with hotel bed due to having a bad back, but this for me was perfect. Did not wake up with pains like I do sometimes at hotels. The room had a big fridge (at least for a hotel room), a microwave, and a coffee maker in the room. Although the coffee maker was in the bathroom, which I found strange. The bathroom was really pretty, and roomy. You didn't feel like you were squished in a tiny bathroom. Oh and if you forget anything and I mean anything, they will have it at the front desk. read more

This hotel still does not allow you to get your own. Also, I don't like the way the bathroom is layed out. It is open to the sleeping area so light shines on the one still in bed when the other is getting ready for the day. They call it a suite, but it is an open suite. The light switch for the bathroom is on the outside, so again the light shines on the one sleeping before you can get the door closed. read more

There's not many great choices of hotels in the area, but I'm glad my bf and I chose this one. It's clean, renovated and you get a complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning. The rooms are decent sized with a nice flat screen, big glass door showers and a large enough sink area for "his" and "hers" area. There's a tiny fitness room if you need a little workout. There is a pool but no hot tub. The staff is also friendly to greet you whenever you're in the lobby. I also like the 24-hour complimentary coffee in the lobby. Nice! read more

Not a normal stop when I'm in Ocala because there's not many choices close by when it comes to food. Unfortunately the breakfast area was crammed with people so i passed on breakfast, however Hampton Inns usually provide a better than average breakfast. Like everyone else mentioned, this is a nice, clean, basic hotel. The continental breakfast was carb-heavy but very tasty, and the all-day coffee was a nice touch. Our room was clean and while it didn't seem new, it felt like it was in good shape for the age of it. Bathroom was huge and shower was wonderful - lots of hot water. Hampton Inn & Suites in Ocala Florida was a real nice hotel. We had stopped to see the drag racing Museum and this place was close enough. I'm getting to where I really like the Hampton brand and this hotel was right in there with all the goodies I need. As it was only an overnight stay, and I wasn't interested in the breakfast I really don't have a lot to say. I slept well the parking lot was a bit noisy till about 10. And I have to say restaurants nearby didn't serve me very well. I guess maybe I'll drive through Ocala next time, but for an overnight stay this is a good place read more

This hotel was fantastic!! I came in on a red eye flight from LAX and had been up 24 hours!! With my Hilton honors I was able to check in early and when I got to the hotel at 12:30 in the afternoon just looking to kick back in the lounge area, I was given my room key and told by the terrific front desk clerk to go on up, put the dnd card on the door and sleep! I asked the "hostess" when she would be putting out more omelets and she replied that it was too close to 10am. I grabbed a coffee, headed back to the room and dialed the manager. He handled my complaint very well and offered a couple of gift certificates to get breakfast in the area. While it started as a bad experience, the attitude and action of the manager restored my faith in the brand, and will return if in the area. read more

This Hampton location was incredibly convenient off I75 just a little over an hour outside Tampa. If you are headed to the Port of Tampa for a cruise, this is a great lay over. Ashley was informative and prompt handling our reservation over the phone and very professional in person. The hotel was very clean. Our room was also perfectly clean, and I am hard to please when it comes to choosing clean hotels. Jeanette and Sally were up bright and early preparing delicious food for our complimentary breakfast. They chatted with guests and assured that we all had anything they could offer. Really liked the unique long granite bar down the center of the room with bar stools. A good variety of seating in the commons area along with the morning paper. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights last week. This hotel is very well kept. Breakfast was great and so was the breakfast attendant. Housekeeping staff was very nice when I encountered them in the hallway. The only reason I would rate this hotel 1 star is because of management. In the morning the General Manager was inappropriately touching the young man working the desk on his rear end and front while I was getting coffee. When my husband and I were leaving the hotel Wednesday afternoon the General Manager was standing at the front entrance of the hotel yelling at the man who worked the desk in the morning screaming "Fuck you, you and I are done. Fuck you" multiple times and putting up her middle fingers at him while a maintenance man and a very nice black lady from housekeeping were overlooking the scene. I felt embarrassed and sad for the young man with everything I had seen in those two days. I don't understand why this hotel would have a General Manager that belittles her employees and sexually harasses them in front of other people. Everyone else that I had encountered during my stay was excellent. read more

Just a follow up to my previous review. I accidentally forgot 3 shirts in the closet when I left. I realized it 40 miles down the road on the way to Orlando airport. I called and the front desk person said no problem. It happens al the time we can ship it to you. I figured since she didn't mention an astronomical cost they would handle it. WRONG! $66.00 to FedEx 3 shirts (not overnight) that weren't new. If I had known I would have had them throw them out or donate them. Lesson learned.. I'll lay all my things out the night before. DON NOT STAY HERE IT IS NOT A SAFE AREA. I checked in last night at 1130pm on my way back home to Texas. At 330am video surveillance caught a car "casing" the parking lot for cars to break into and steal; at 359am my truck (locked and I had the keys) was stolen from the parking lot. I am stuck 15 hours from home and the manager Fenil Nagda would not even provide me transportation to the airport or a place to pick up another car. I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Ocala - Belleview on April 18 and 19 of 2016. I flew directly from my home in Los Angeles to the hotel; my home in LA does not have and has never had bed bugs. After spending one night in the hotel my arms began to break out and by the time I left the hotel after a 2 night stay the majority of my chest, arms, neck, back, ankles and part of my face was covered in bug bites. At the time I did not know what was going on, and I began the second leg of my journey, which was a 14 hour flight to the Middle East. I bought Benadryl tablets and cream at the airport but they did nothing to stop the relentless itching I experienced during the entire flight. After spending a few days miserably itching in Dubai I went to a Dermatologist who confirmed that the "rash" was indeed bed bug bites and he said it was one of the worst cases he had seen. I received an injection and had to purchase prescription pills and cream to apply over the course of the next 10-14 days. I contacted the General Manager at the Hampton Inn and got the runaround from the beginning. He claimed that he did not receive my emails or medical receipts and he was not immediately responsive when my friend who lives in Ocala stopped in to discuss this matter with him. Getting a reply was much like pulling teeth and I only seemed to get any answers when I threatened to write a negative review or take this matter up with Hilton corporate, the Florida health department, etc. I requested that my room charges be refunded and my medical bills be reimbursed. The Manager said there was no bed bugs in the room and after I pressed the matter he forwarded a "receipt" from the hotel's pest control service that read "no bed bug activity noted during inspection". My two night stay was comped under the 100% guarantee policy, but that's it. If there were even a 1% chance in my mind that there was another place that I could have been bitten by bed bugs, I wouldn't waste time writing this review. This ordeal has been extremely uncomfortable, not to mention the costs and time lost on what was supposed to be a vacation. When I received the diagnosis in Dubai I spent the next day and a half deep-cleaning my friend's apartment, cleaning all of my clothes on high heat and going through my 3 pieces of luggage with a fine tooth comb. Not to mention the time I spent at the doctor and pharmacy. Or waking up in the middle of the night feeling like bugs were crawling on me (even though they weren't). This isn't exactly how I envisioned spending my time in Dubai, and the lackluster response from the manager at the Hampton Inn has been the most frustrating part. Stay somewhere else! read more
