My friend even spoke with the owner beforehand to explain how meaningful the appointment was. I was scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. soak-off and a 12:00 p.m. full set. I arrived on time and waited. Around 12:10, the nail tech finally sat with me, looked at my nails, and said, "Your nails are not off." I told her I had confirmed the appointment with the owner and that the soak-off was supposed to be included. She began using the drill to remove the nails, and the heat became painful. I asked her to stop. She then told me she didn't have time to do my nails, spoke in her language, and walked away. I asked the owner what was happening, and she simply told me to make another appointment because she had other people to take care of. After years of trying to give this salon chances, this experience was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional--especially on a day that was so important to me. I will not be returning, and I hope they take customer service more seriously moving forward.

The woman and her mother were clearly not regular clients at a high end salon which is not a judgment as much as an observation. As the client said, "everything was fine and everyone got along" until they went to pay the bill which was clearly more than they expected. Annmarie is extremely professional and was somehow managing to remain patient with this woman's unrelenting demands and criticisms. Annmarie is unconcerned with who is right or wrong, only that her clients expectations are met. I watched Meghan - the receptionist - address the woman's concerns with kindness, empathy and professionalism and consistent with salon policy. Anthony is the reason the salon is the long-time success that it is in a community known for chasing "the next best thing" and treats his staff and clients with the utmost respect. The salon and people this interloper describes is not my Salon Dematteo. I suggest she find a salon that she is more comfortable with. As a transplanted NY'er I searched a very long time to find talent comparable to my salon in NYC. Fifteen years later I have, and would, follow Annemarie and Salon DeMatteo anywhere.

For some reason the woman who gave me my pedi cut my big toe nail extremely short and in the process really cut me up and did some damage under the nail bed. I'm on vacation now and walking hurts (not great when you want to walk on the beach and around town) and I've been waking up at night with throbbing pain in my big toe. I'm now just praying it isn't infected. What is the point of getting a pre-vacation pedicure if it ends up hurting you and making you miserable and worried the whole time? I went in this afternoon with my daughter and it wasn't busy given the rotten weather. We were greeted right away and given cold bottles of water. They had Essie and OPI nail colors to choose from, but I always bring my own and they were fine with that. We opted for their Olive Pedicure for $35 - it included a 15 minute leg massage and the Pedicure Chairs were brand new and super clean. They had a special where you got a free manicure with any pedicure and it also included a complimentary back massage. We will definitely come back to this place!
