I've been going to Effi's for many years and for some reason, never wrote a review about how wonderful this gem of a place is. A woman-owned business, at a very convenient location near the train, shops, and restaurants, Effi's is outstanding on every level, from the pretty views to the excellent service. From the wonderful greeting by Dana when you enter, to the delicious, often homemade, treats while being taken care of, to the spectacular scalp massage, as Sigrid rinses you off, to the wonderful treatment and hilarious conversation with my stylist, Erin... It's all such a great experience! Highly recommend. They run this place on time with a great vibe and always a lot of smiles and laughter. Rachel , was beyond rude and not only was the whole process unpleasant at best Rachel actually sprayed me down the back with water without caring or trying to remedy the mess. But rudeness and yelling and not listening are not just bad, it is simply unacceptable. Save yourself from this frustration and go somewhere else. read more

Had my first appointment with Effi 10/11/19 - needed a "boost" as I had a wedding to attend the very next day. The salon is such a warm/inviting place - all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Effi herself - just AMAZING - listened to what I thought I wanted and then gave me her suggestions and options - I decided to trust her and could not have been more pleased!! The proof was that at all the family events that weekend - I got one compliment after another on how great my hair looked - THANKS EFFI!! So in addition to doing a fantastic job on my hair, Effi took it one step further.....I had recently been in an accident and was unable to sit for long periods (e.g. the time it takes to cut/dry your hair). Without any hesitation, Effi was more than happy to accommodate the situation and hopped up on a bench so that I could stand as she finished the blow dry part of my process - pic attached - now THAT is customer service!! Rude. I just called to find out what they charge for single process roots. I am new to the area and have been calling different salons to get a sense of what the going rate is for getting my roots done. A very specific service, for which I figure there is a very specific price. In fact, the other salons I spoke with gave me a set price. Not this place. The woman on the phone said "We start at $70." I asked why there wasn't a set price - trying to understand what I could expect if I showed up there - and she said "All the girls we have here are professionals and they have their own prices". I asked if that meant the salon had no price list, and she said rudely "No, we don't!" read more

I visited Effi`s Salon in Westport just before the holidays in 2017. I was there with a friend of mine that was getting a treatment done. Initially I was not there to have any services but eventually ended up getting a scalp massage shampoo treatment. I have to say that the vibe in the salon was amazing not only from the employees but also from the customers. Everyone was happy and vibrant. The massaging scalp treatment was amazing and very relaxing and my friend was very satisfied with her hairstyle. I highly recommend at the salon for anyone in the Fairfield County area. read more

This is my favorite salon. The new location is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is incredible. They know exactly what you want. There's coffee, TV, clean washing stations, and always a smile at the door. The floors are always sweeper, the front desk is beautifully organized and my hair is healthier than ever after going here. I always get a very warm welcome when I arrive and the new location is really nice! But Aleksandra, the esthetician, is absolutely amazing. I've been going to her for years for all my skincare and waxing needs and she is on-point every time! Consistency is key and with her level of precision you can tell that she cares. I saw Kacie (sp) at Effie's back in May of this year and I had a great experience with her! She really has the "Texas Blonde" highlights down. I was afraid after moving from Dallas that I wouldn't be able to find anyone in Connecticut who could duplicate my color. She was awesome. Can't say enough about how fantastic she was. In fact, I asked four different people here in Westport for recommendations, and they ALL told me Kacie was the best blonde colorist around. She didn't disappoint. I would give more stars, but the front desk kind of screwed up my appointment time and I ended up completely missing my cut altogether because they told me that my appointment was actually an hour later than the scheduled time. Not a huge deal, as they are a large salon with a ton of clients, but it was pretty inconvenient. I'm not sure about how competitive the prices are, as everything is about half as expensive in Texas. I don't have anything to compare it to, but from what I have gathered, it is one of the more affordable salons in the area. I think I paid around $250 for highlights, but call and check before going, as I am sure it differs according to length of hair, etc. read more

I have been going to Effi's for years. It is like a family. Both for the stylists and for the folks who get their hair cut and colored. We are all treated so well. Effi has been cutting my hair for many years, I've had my hair colored by Erin, Maria, Susan and Pam and I love each and everyone of them. Stephen cuts my husbands hair ( he views Stephen like a brother) and my daughter goes to Casey. We are all super happy. It is a warm, caring happy place. I went to this salon for the first time this week and had Effi cut my hair. I wear my hair very simply, and always show the stylist a picture, but somehow I don't get what I ask for. I am happy to say that wasn't my experience this time. Effi nailed it! I won't be going anywhere else. read more

HORRIFIC experience. I wish I could give something less than one star. My sister got a gift certificate for her birthday that she tried to use for her prom. She has waist-length thick hair. The "stylist" used a curling iron and spritzed it a few times with spray. That is it. No exaggeration, that is all that was done. They charged her $200 which was the full amount of the certificate plus $25 for tip. My sister was so upset she tried talking to effi the owner who basically laughed in her face and did absolutely nothing. My sister was in tears by the time she got home - there was not one single curl left in her hair. My mother an I spent an hour fixing the disaster they'd created and while I think she ended up looking lovely (SOLELY because of my mother and I), she was late for her prom. There have to be 100 salons in Westport alone. If you're willing to spend that kind of money, there are far better places. I certainly wouldn't risk it. read more
