I had a great overall experience at Hammer & Nails. The shop definitely lives up to its "luxury grooming for men" vibe--I left feeling relaxed and taken care of. My haircut with Chrissy was amazing. She was warm, friendly, and easy to talk to, and the conversation made the whole experience even better. She really set the tone for a great visit. The front desk staff (I'm sorry I forgot her name) was also very welcoming. She took the time to introduce the services and even gave me a tour, which I appreciated. The only part of my visit that didn't quite match the rest was my pedicure. The technician--Arlene or Marlene, I believe--seemed to rush through the session. She had a headphone in, which I don't mind if it helps her focus, but the overall experience felt a bit quiet and less engaging. I would've appreciated more check-ins, like asking if everything felt okay or if I had any specific concerns (for example, areas like calluses that I wanted extra attention on). I have been to a few of these salons that cater to and pamper men. This is unquestionably the best of them. They offer full service haircuts, including wash, and hot towel. Although my main indulgence is the various options of pedicure. Yes, they serve you beer and wine while you wait and while you are groomed. You have your personal TV with noise-canceling headphones, while you are completely pampered. I am standing by my five star review. Since this is the nicest place I've been in any ZIP Code. Avoid this place. I can't speak for all locations, but at this location they're like vultures when it comes to looking for a tip. The service that they provide is just descent but nothing special. Also don't go here thinking that the actual price is the price shown. The barbers and other workers are nice and do a great job so maybe the company should just pay them more instead of expecting us to pay their employees wages. $90 a month for 2 haircuts is high enough already and should have the tip included. Nothing is guaranteed with this place besides the fact that when you leave a bad review the owner will call you at 8:30 Easter night complaining that you left a bed review about her business. Also I'm sure she's going to leave a long lengthy reply to my review telling me how I'm wrong about everything just like she does on every bad review. LOL Do you actually believe your lies? Let me start by saying the haircut I got was really great, I have no issue with the haircut I received. However, it was not any better than the one I get for $25 at my much closer barber shop. As a first time customer I was supposed to get the premium cut for the price of the regular cut. One of the differences being a 45 minute experience versus a 30 minute. Unfortunately, I was in and out of there in less than 30 and that includes paying and walking to the car. It was supposed to come with a neck massage as well which if I received I don't remember getting which probably tells you enough right there. I don't see myself joining as a member for several reasons including the fact this place is 35 minutes away. Also, the fact my experience wasn't that much different from the $25 barber shop is hard to justify the additional expense. I did get a free beer out of the deal but I could have bought several cases of beer for the money I saved by staying close to home. I may come back for the pedicure service in the back room because that looked cool but I just don't see what the advantages are to spending $120 for a premium haircut at this place. read more

I booked a premium pedicure for myself and a sport package pedicure for my brother as a birthday gift. It was more so of a running joke since we both had serious workman's feet, so I went really expecting too much. However, I was surprised at how awesome this experience was. The bar in itself Would have made the trip worthwhile, but the service was top notch. Our feet felt as soft as a newborn bum and looked better than my wife's feet. Ok...so I just had my first visit to Hammer & Nails. I'll be honest, I was skeptical and figured I'd leave thinking it was just an overpriced haircut/beard trim and just return to my regular barber. I was WRONG! I received a better cut/trim than my normal barber, a full shampoo/conditioner, beard conditioning, a great beard trim with razor cut and left smelling and feeling amazing! Who would have known!!! They have a "membership" which was mentioned briefly by my stylist Paige, who was amazing, and figured it would be double what my barber would charge. WRONG again! It's just a few more dollars more but it includes two monthly services. Pretty spiffy! I'm signing up! read more

Great haircut - worth the money. I believe Paige was my barber. He was awesome. Very thorough. My only complaint was the hard sell on the membership. I get my hair cut about once every 6 weeks so a membership doesn't make sense. No one went over the top trying to sell it, but it came up in every conversation and my concern is that I'll eventually get annoyed enough to stop coming back. Part of the value in paying more for a haircut is the relaxation factor. It's not relaxing to have to constantly explain why I don't want a monthly membership. But other then that. It was well worth the money, and the haircut itself was noticeably better then a typical barbershop. read more
