****DO NOT USE TARA!!!**** TARA is awful! 1st time here for a haircut. TARA is rude and unprofessional! From the waiting area I saw Tara doing unprofessional hand gestures while speaking to my 16+ yr old daughter so I walked over. My daughter was in tears in the car telling me how Tara treated & spoke to her. Not sure what her problem is...hates her job, hates young people, etc? She should NOT be working there. She was rude and confrontational and wouldn't do what my daughter asked her to do, even after she showed her an online photo. My daughter ended up having to cut her own curtain bangs when we got home! Go to SANDI (manager) or HEE if you go. They have a good reputation when I asked other customers waiting.

Went here wanting a trim because my hair was getting a little long and the lady practically shaved my head. Disappointing. Not going back.

Olivia did my shampoo and blow dry with soft curls. She was extremely kind and did a great job, no complaints!

If Money was still at this location (she is now at the Bristow location near the Harris Teeter) my…read morereview would be a 5/5, but once Money left I tried to get a couple of cuts here and I had mixed experiences. My first experience without Money: I had Courtney cut my hair. She is young but very talented and enjoyable to talk to! I liked my hair when I left and felt she listened to most of my requests that Money would do. Only thing that I wanted that I didn't really get was a good blending of my layers because my hair is pretty thin and it doesn't look its best when it is choppy, but I'm sure that this talented of a hair stylist will learn how to in time. My second experience without Money: I don't know the name of the woman who cut my hair! She did not introduce herself and hardly asked me what I wanted. She didn't make small talk and came off as very rude. If I asked her to change anything she would get huffy and say that she was cutting it how I had it done last time. If it actually looked the same as how I had it the time before I would have been happy, but the layers were extra choppy (she said she couldn't fix it) and everything felt uneven. And when she felt she was done she basically just dismissed me and didn't give me a mirror to see the back. I recommend Courtney, but beware of the other woman!

Lizzy is very personable and knowledgeable. She took a good look at my hair and knew exactly what…read moreneeded to be done. She was very efficient, and did a great job trimming and shaping my short hair. Would highly recommend her.

I treated myself to the Premium Haircut with Lawrence and the Premium Pedicure with a talented young lady whose name I, unfortunately, forgot--but her skill and care were unforgettable. Lawrence delivered a top-tier grooming experience with the Premium Cut. Every detail was handled with precision--from the razor outline and warm foam to the aftershave massage and relaxing lavender-infused hot towel. I walked out looking and feeling my absolute best. The Premium Pedicure was equally indulgent. From the warm soak and peppermint sugar scrub to the massage and paraffin wrap, every step was designed for total relaxation and care. My feet have never felt better. I also enjoyed the Premium Manicure, which was the perfect finishing touch. The exfoliation, hydration, and attention to detail were exceptional. To top it all off, I was offered complimentary beers, which added to the upscale, laid-back vibe. Hammer & Nails isn't just a grooming spot--it's an experience. I left feeling refreshed, pampered, and appreciated. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their self-care routine. I even purchased my membership. On a side note: I would like to have one closer to me in Gaithersburg.

The Leesburg location has a super comfortable environment…read moreand ambience. From the initial greeting to the service performed to the exit, the place makes you feel extra special. I recently had a premium manicure performed by Erin and it was a super experience. From the manicure to the massage to the warm paraffin wax soak and hot towels, all were performed expertly and a definite luxury experience. Thank you Erin. Would highly recommend this business.

1/5 -- Great Ambiance, Questionable Barbering…read more Let me start by saying this: Hammer & Nails in Leesburg has a NICE setup. The ambiance? . The bar? Cool. The chairs? Comfortable. The whole place makes you feel like you're about to have a luxury experience. Then you ask for a fade. And suddenly you realize the bar is the only thing getting a smooth finish. I'm not even trying to be disrespectful, but if you're going there specifically for a haircut, PLEASE manage your expectations. If you want a drink, a manicure, a massage, or possibly a blowout, you might be in the right place. But if you want a CLEAN fade? ... RUN. I genuinely believe you'd have better luck giving yourself a haircut using your front facing camera and a pair of kitchen scissors. At one point I was looking in the mirror thinking, "Maybe this is just the first stage. Maybe they're cooking." Nope. They weren't cooking. They were microwaving. I'm not naming names because I'm not trying to ruin anybody's day, but let's just say this: if you're walking in there specifically asking for a fade, make sure whoever is holding the clippers has demonstrated that they know what a fade actually is. Because I didn't ask for a fade. I asked for a faith-based experience. I had to pray over this haircut. And the funniest part? You walk out looking at yourself like, "Maybe I'm just being dramatic." Then you get in your car. You turn on the interior light. You look again. And you realize... "OH. THEY REALLY DID THAT." So yeah, Hammer & Nails gets a solid rating for atmosphere. But for a simple fade? I'd recommend somewhere else. Honestly, you might have better luck asking a blind man with a lawn mower to give you a taper. At least then you'd know what you were getting into.
