First Yelp review because it was my first time ever going to a hair salon (I'm a recent college graduate and have now decided to graduate from Hair Cutteries) and this salon was praised by several friends so when I moved up here I decided to give it a shot. Laura did an excellent job at giving my hair more life and body without cutting off too much hair, which is usually my deepest fear with trims. Furthermore, I had never had much of anything done to my hair and she guided me to pick a toning treatment with a color boost to change up my hair as well as a restorative treatment to fix this porous ass hair of mine. I had a 12:00 appointment for PR at Partners in Gainesville, and this was my first visit. My husband also had a 12:00 appointment for a haircut and was taken right on time. I was asked to wait and ended up sitting there for 30 minutes with no communication or updates at all. No one explained the delay or checked in with me, so I eventually left and went across the street. I understand that delays happen, but not being acknowledged or communicated with as a first-time client was frustrating and disappointing. read more

PR is great. I am a little biased because I'm a. friend of the family so to speak but I have always gotten a great haircut from Chris. His assistant, Lucy, gives an absolutely dreamy scalp massage when she washes your hair. Like so amazing. What I mostly appreciate about Chris is that you aren't there forever. I think we have all had a never ending hair appointment, but every time I go Chris is prompt, does a great job, and I'm out of there in a normal amount of time. Where do I even start? I've been suffering from post surgery hair loss and I've always had really long beautiful hair. Well that obviously changed and I was in need of a change to help me hide my hair loss. From the moment I made my appointment, I felt very taken care of. I am a huge fan of Shohreh and have been following her Instagram @hairbyshohreh for some time now. I'm usually one who keeps the same hairstyle and I tend to get nervous and uncomfortable when it comes to color, however witnessing Shohreh's talent through her posts gave me the assurance I needed that she was the right stylist for me. She specializes in color and was able to educate me on the process of hair painting and helped me pick out a tone which truly compliments my complexion. The process took a while since I went in with very dark hair, however both Shohreh and her assistant Ashia were more than accommodating and patient with me through the process. The shampoo chairs recline and Ashia always made sure that I was comfortable by placing enough towels under my neck for support. The salon atmosphere is very trendy and fashion forward. If you need hair products, this is the place to be with their never ending supply of hair goodies!! I opted for a post color hair treatment by Kerestase which truly left my hair feeling shiny and so soft even after the lightening treatment. I've been wanting to go lighter for some time and I'm beyond pleased with the outcome :) I've been receiving compliments ALL DAY long and I have Shohreh and her team to thank!! I can't wait to go back for a hair cut and more treatments! I would HIGHLY recommend this team if you're looking for professionals who truly know what they're doing. My PR Partner stylist's salon service prices went WAY too high during this whole COVID ordeal. I can no longer afford going here. I found a great hairdresser twice as good and twice as personable at less than half of the PR Partner stylist's new prices, and she doesn't constantly slip in multiple upcharges on top of it. AND my hair isn't dry like straw like it always turns out at PR's. AND she doesn't always insist on cutting off at least 3" of my hair each visit, despite me insisting I'm trying to grow it out. read more

Wow!!!! I went to Katie For the first time on a recommendation from a friend and this is the first time in years that I have walked out of the salon and felt amazing! Usually I walk out feeling like I just wasted money on a haircut that stinks I could've put up the kitchen scissors and done myself. Not so here... It's been at least five years since anyone had cut my hair .. the last time I had anyone remotely professional touch it, I still lived in California. So I was a little bit nervous. Not a lot, because I really did want a change. My hair was just long, with no style, and I'd always just been wearing it up. When I called, the person who answered the phone was very helpful, asking me a few questions about what type of hair I had and what kind of services I was interested in. She recommended Olivia as a stylist, and I was able to get an appointment the same day. The salon is very clean looking and large, and although at first I was a little confused by where the reception desk was (it's hidden off to one side,) once I noticed it, things were smooth sailing. I filled out a little profile/questionnaire type thing, and then Olivia came out and she did her magic. I showed her a couple of pictures of hairstyles I liked, and decided to put my trust in her hands that she would do a good job (in the past, I have said things like "no layers!" to stylists. Their shampoo station is great, with automatic, massaging chairs. When Olivia gave me a scalp massage during the shampoo, I almost fell asleep, it was that relaxing. She overall had a great attitude, was very friendly and kept up a stream of comfortable chatter. I was very satisfied with my haircut, it's exactly the type of thing that works well for my casual style -- but also gives me an image that I actually care about how I look as well. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this salon! If I could give it 6 stars I would. I found PR at Partners after moving to Gainesville and was instantly impressed by how squeaky clean everything was, how friendly the entire staff was (they always offer me something to drink each time I go) and how perfect the location is too - right in the middle of Virginia Gateway with tons of local shops and places to eat while walking around. More specifically, I have had the BEST experience with Katie! She is the greatest stylist who has ever highlighted and cut my hair and I promise you, I can be extremely picky. Katie is always super sweet and instantly made me feel like her best friend upon my first visit. She even took the extra time after my hair was done to show me how to style and curl my new hairstyle - she always goes above and beyond with her clients! I've referred her to numerous people who continuously go back to her, including my mom who recently finished chemo and Katie gave her SOO much confidence to rock her new short hairstyle - it was the first time she went out in public without a wig in almost a year! I also must say that my shampoo experience is always amazing! The chairs are super comfortable with massage capabilities built in, they never get water in my eyes and always offer a rejuvenating or relaxing head massage - which feels incredible by the way! Amanda is the girl who usually helps out Katie and I simply ADORE her - although I've never had a bad experience with anyone working there! I also want to note that I love how they notify clients of appointments. You have the option of either a) receiving a telephone call the day before, b) a text message or c) an email. This is super convenient especially since I don't always answer my phone if I don't recognize the number and I can easily confirm my appointment via text or email. Kara is the best stylist i have ever been too. She walked through all the steps with me with the process of lightening my hair (i have super dark thick hair). Unfortunately i only had a 2 hour time span to get my hair done, what seemed impossible to get so much done in that little time, she managed to do! I'm so happy with the results of my first session with her, she was able to get my hair lightened more than i had originally thought it would in just those two short hours! I'm only giving 4 stars because Pr at Partners is kinda pricey, i paid 190$ for a full Balayage, just color no cut, with a color treatment. But i will definitely be willing to pay that again to have someone work wonder on my hair like Kara did! read more

They are an authorized Kerastase retailer and I love how Chris and Lucy educate me about product usage and recommend the right things for me, but are never pushy. I look forward to literally THE BEST scalp massage after my Kerastase treatment (thanks, Lucy!). My monthly visit feels like spending a few relaxing hours with friends. I've been coming here pretty regularly, and while Margaret is no longer at PR, I've had the pleasure of working with Miranda for all of my hair needs and Carrianne for my skin care. Miranda has yet to lead me astray with my hair care - Kerastase hair treatments, beautiful handpainted highlights, and while I'm in the process of growing out my hair and have not "chopped" it, she trims it perfectly. My hair is happy and healthy and beautiful because of Miranda's good work and great advice. :) I've recently started a skin care regimen, thanks to my husband giving me a gift card specifically for a facial, and Carrianne is awesome. I had an esthetician in Annapolis named Samantha, who was amazing, and I can confidently say that Carrianne is my new Samantha. So far, my skin's been on the mend and is getting better and better with each treatment. She's not pushy with products and has given me great advice so far in clearing up my skin and correcting my hyperpigmentation. You can't go wrong with the people at PR. They're all incredibly nice and knowledgeable about their craft. I honestly think that PR is quite possibly the best salon/spa I've been to in my adult life. :) read more

Feeling disappointed in this establishment- not because of the hair stylist but because of the customer service. I've been a loyal customer of PR for over 3 years in Reston. Unfortunately, my hairstylist of 3 years left PR and moved further away so I decided to give this location a try because it's close to home and the reviews seemed decent. I booked my appointment about 2 weeks ago and asked the receptionist for the stylists prices and she stated $55 for a haircut and $25 for a toner and I was able to verify this on the website under the stylists profile. I left the establishment very confused because the total came out to $126 for a simple appointment. I paid without questioning and walked out very confused trying to add it all up in my head. I decided to call back and ask for a breakdown of the services. The stylist failed to inform me about a $35 treatment that was added while getting shampoo'd. I let the receptionist know that I was orginally told different prices by another receptionist. She quickly said "I'm not sure where you heard that but the prices have always been the same." I decided to simply thank her and apologize for my misunderstanding. I quickly looked up the stylist on the company website and found the exact same price that I was INITIALLY told. The stylist later took it to Instagram to state her prices had gone up conveniently an hour after I called the salon and her prices immediately changed on the website. It's not about the money for me it's simply a matter of principle. Not a trustworthy establishment whatsoever. Ask before you book! read more

Shelby was great but my only complaint is that she did not clean her round brush before blow drying my hair and it was filled with hair that wasn't mine. I also wish they had been more clear about prices. I was a first time client so they gave me $10 off and another $10 to write a review and I still paid $90 So that would've been $110 for a blowout and a trim. However, I walked into the salon and had to wait 20 minutes before I was even seen when I was on time for my appointment. I showed the stylist, Allison, what I wanted... midlength waves... so explain to me why I walked out with a straight bob with uneven front pieces of hair. I literally had to walk back in and say that it was uneven for her to fix it. This place is too expensive for terrible service and hair stylists. Safe to say I'm never coming back. read more

I had heard good things about this salon, that's why I went there to get my hair done. My stylist's name was Skyler. I had asked for a lighter brown hair to very light ash but the final result turned out to be very brassy. It didn't look good at all. It looked like she almost didn't use toner to tone the brassiness down. For that look, she charged me very expensive as well. I didn't like the look so I went back the next day and all she said was she can tone down my hair which even turned to be a disaster. It was dark orange. I bought toners from sally and managed to get the brassiness down when that was supposed to be the stylist's job. I don't know if it's the stylist or the salon as a whole, I don't recommend spending money here. I don't think it's worth it. read more
