My daughter and I drove to Boulder from Minnesota. The next morning, a Sunday, our car was dead. Through State Farm, they sent Hamilton Towing to the rescue. At first, they sent Roland, who was very pleasant and friendly on the phone. However, after I waited about 45 minutes, I got a call from Manuel letting me know he was coming. After confirming with Roland (who could not come after all), I waited a little longer for Manuel. He was a super nice guy with a very sunny disposition. I was certain something was terribly wrong with our engine, but Manuel charged the battery and that did the trick so we could drive the car ourselves to a mechanic for a new battery. Both Roland and Manuel were very nice and helpful and kept me from loosing my cool (literally and figuratively, since it was very hot that day). I would recommend them. read more

Living on the edge is something I rarely choose to do anymore. Somehow a few days following an engine repair covered by my warranty at a manufacturer-certified repair facility, my car suddenly and unpredictably broke down on a mountain road with no actual pull-off space (~2 ft.) and a shallow ditch next to it, just after a blind curve. Thank heavens for the ditch, is all I can say. Because the car stopped running. I was lucky to even go forward far enough to get off the road at all! Of course, I was also in a cell phone "dead zone" as those funny commercials refer to it. Luckily, a nice guy who was on his way to Estes Park to DJ stopped to help me. His cell phone worked a bit better than mine and he helped me to call a tow truck. I have AAA, but it was close to nightfall, and with spotty cellphone service and being on a fairly isolated mountain road, I thought it best to get a close-by towing service, and confirm that they could get to where I was quickly. It was not somewhere that I could just leave my car. It was almost jutting out into the road, on that blind curve. Dangerous. I really appreciate the guy who stopped to help me. I did not get his name. The Hamilton Towing, which I thought of simply because a Hamilton towtruck had passed me along the road near Lyons earlier, got a guy there within 45 minutes from Boulder, which was good. He was very professional and thoughtful. He made sure I got to the towtruck safely before lifting my car onto the flatbed. I also appreciate some people I know who sent some friends who were on the way to the same conference I had planned to attend in Estes, because they found me, and stopped, and waited with me until the towtruck came. They were willing to drive me to Estes for the conference, but I decided I should go back to Boulder with my car (ok, I admit it, I am too attached to my car...) and make sure it got to the mechanic ok. This driver would have gotten my car to the mechanic just fine without me riding along. He was wonderful. He is someone I would have totally trusted to be responsible for my car and its contents. So the trip back to Boulder went well, and I discovered it's not really possible to rent a car at 8pm on a weekend night, after many phone calls. Didn't get to go to the conference, but I've discovered a friendly, professional, dependable towing company--Hamilton. By the way, I felt the price was reasonable too, and their quick arrival was a real blessing! read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!! Cancelled my tow with out warning or notice. Left me sitting stranded for 2 hours plus another 2 hours waiting for a new tow truck from an actual reputable company. Dont trust these clowns with your money or time. read more

When my car stranded itself in Boulder, I decided, based on Harmony O.'s review to give Hamilton towing a try. They picked up right away, and the lady in dispatch was very nice, courteous, and efficient. My vehicle needed to be towed from Boulder to Broomfield, rather than just around the corner, but they were able to give me an accurate estimate of the cost involved. Within 20 minutes (sooner than promised), the tow driver had arrived, and was also courteous, polite, and efficient. They loaded my car on the flatbed without dinging, mangling, dropping, or doing anything horrid to it (I've had bad experiences with tow services before). 20 minutes later (traffic must have been great!) my poor car was where it was supposed to be. It cost maybe half of what I feared it would, and half what I've paid for tows before. Good price, prompt, friendly, efficient and professional service. I would definitely recommend Hamilton Towing, and will gladly use them again, should the need arise. read more

My son totaled his car on Flagstaff Road on a Sunday evening and Hamilton was called by State Troopers to tow it. It was traumatic for me to see it in the lot the next morning. The tow driver was very compassionate and brought it to our home in Lafayette within 45 minutes of being asked to do so. I highly recommend their service! read more

Very impressed! My car broke down and left me stranded outside Boulder. I did not catch the gentleman's name but he was extremely friendly and helpful to a young lady that does not know SQUAT about cars. He towed my car to the mechanic and did not leave until my friend arrived to drive me home. I was told that the driver would get to me within 30 minutes and ended up waiting an hour and a half. Thank goodness it was not a cold night! I have had my car towed before and paid an arm and a leg...and then some. Of course I was very nervous to receive the bill but left very happy! The towing guy was nice, but after my car broke down I asked for a recommended mechanic (haven't lived in the area for long), they recommended Firestone. The tow guy said they did full auto services, not just tires. So I'm towed there, and go inside and am told they don't work on engines or transmissions and I'll have to go elsewhere. I immediately call Hamilton to explain the situation, no more than 3 minutes since the tow guy has left, and they said (very rudely) if I need another tow it will be full price no discount. I'll start by saying that I waited wayyyy too long for a tow-like nearly 4 hours. They rerouted my driver to a more urgent tow on the highway. Although this was understandable as I was not roadside (I was stuck in a parking lot), it was very frustrating to wait so long and I certainly didn't feel prioritized. HOWEVER-their one saving grace was their driver, Sam. He was so kind, helpful, and personable, and went above and beyond to help me. He even dropped me off at my apartment after waiting at the auto shop. TLDR: Great driver but poor service. read more

Hamilton Towing has towed our diesel flatbed a couple times, and have done a great job both times. Both tows required some creativity and mechanical knowledge to get the truck moveable and on the flatbed, and they were champs. Thanks! read more

After a fender bender today AAA sent Sam from Hamilton Towing to flatbed my car. I don't think I've ever met such a nice tow truck driver in my life! Met the business owner too as they were storing my car until it can get fixed. The driver Sam even gave me a ride home afterwards! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! They damaged my classic car while towing it, denied it, changed their minds and offered to BONDO it for me. They were utterly unapologetic. They will be hearing from my lawyer. read more

These people were friendly on the phone and responded right out to my daughter's broken down car on a Sunday. They towed it to her house (a couple of towns away) and they only charged us 100 bucks. I was prepared to pay at least double that, so we were very satisfied. read more

I used Hamilton today, finally after Marv's left me standing on a downtown street corner for almost 2 hours, while lying to me about when they would arrive. The 2 hrs allowed my car to cool down enough to drive 1/2 mile home. Hamilton told me it would be 2 hrs or more, which was ok since I was home. The young man was very meticulous, courteous and towed it to the shop without incident. I would have given 5 stars except the dispatcher didn't call back with an exact ETA. Overall, a good experience and $75 for a tow across Boulder seemed very reasonable. read more

DO NOT USE THIS TOW COMPANY! I used this tow company to take my motorcycle 8 miles to a mechanic. When it arrived at the repair shop, it was so damaged, that, it was a total loss. I had to use MY personal insurance to get a settlement. read more

HAMILTON TOWING LEFT US STRANDED OUTSIDE WITH TWO YOUNG KIDS IN THE COLD AND NEVER SHOWED!!!! Here's the whole story. Judge this tow company for yourself: My vehicle was disabled due to a coolant leak at the Ceran St. Vrain trailhead on Riverside Lane in Jamestown. At 6:30pm we finalized arrangement for Hamilton Towing to tow the vehicle. We were told it would be 90 minutes (8:00pm) before they could be there. I noted specifically where we were and provided the address of the closest residence just up the street from the trailhead (thanks to these kind people who let me use their phone as there is no cell coverage in the area). I reiterated our circumstances being with two young children and being outside noting that there was no cell coverage and no way for them to reach us. I specifically noted we were at the trailhead just a short distance up the street from the nearest residence. I explained that the road dead-ends at the trailhead, so there was no way to miss us. Given the 90 minute wait till arrival time, I also noted that we would probably not be standing at the vehicle itself, but that we would be within 200 feet of the vehicle at all times. Because it was still early Spring, we knew it would get cold as the sun went down. We elected to start a fire in a nearby fire-pit to keep the kids warm since it was already cooling off. Although we kept an eye on the car checking regularly (we could see the car by walking 15 feet from the fire pit), we left a note both on the front seat and in the window of the car stating we were 150 feet up the road at the trailhead itself with a fire going. No one could conceivably have missed us and we could not have missed the tow truck or it's headlights in the dimming light. Knowing tow companies can not be exact on timing (it is only an estimate), I set an alarm on my phone for 7:30pm. Between 7:30 and 8:30pm my wife and I traded off walking the 15 feet to look up at the car every few minutes. This was unnecessary as the headlights would have been seen long before the truck got to the parking area (in fact twice we thought the truck must be there because we saw headlights, but it wasn't the tow truck...). We continued to watch vigilantly until 9:15pm when my family got in the car as it was now pitch dark. I finished drowning out the fire about 9:40pm and came back to the car myself. At 10:00pm we gave up on the tow company figuring we didn't know if they would ever show. We had a fair amount of water with us, so I decided to chance driving the car a short distance with a leaking coolant system. I filled the coolant system with what we had and drove the 1 1/2 to 2 miles over the ridgeline from the trail to the eastern side of overland rd. From here it is all downhill for 15 (?) miles or so. I checked steering and braking without the power assist and felt I could coast down the entire way safely just running the headlights/running lights on the battery. I was able to coast all the way to the Greenbriar Inn at the intersection of Hwy 36, where the great folks there gave me additional assistance that got me home. Thanks to the staff at Greenbriar Inn, who helped even while managing a wedding at the time! NO THANKS TO HAMILTON TOWING!!! Here's an interesting thing to note: I followed up the next morning to see if Hamilton ever showed. According to the scheduling company that arranged the tow, Hamilton claimed to have arrived, found the vehicle and said they found no one with the car. The entry was made at 9:55pm, so presumably they showed up shortly before this (only 1 1/2 hours late). Not only were we near the vehicle the entire time from 6:30pm on with a note on the vehicle giving our exact location and a verbal description having been provided the towing company at the initial call, but from 9:15pm on, my family was IN THE CAR. Clearly, the tow company reported a lie. I suspect they never came. There is only one way up the canyon from the front range (from were they said they were coming) and that is the road I took back down to the Greenbriar Inn. My whole family watched for the truck as we coasted down. We never passed one. Since we got to the Greenbriar at about 10:40pm, that meant they weren't even headed up the canyon before 10:40pm. How could there be an entry in the system at 9:55pm that they had been there already!? In my case, I was relying on this tow company for my family's safety and well being. Hamilton was made aware of my situation and yet they let me and my family down. Fortunately, my family was not injurred, but it could have turned out differently. If I were you, knowing this story, I sure wouldn't put my trust in this company!! But of course, that's for you to judge...... read more

Had to have a car towed from property. Truck came within the hour, had an emergency call to divert to, another truck arrived in a half hour, really helpful, tried to remedy the problem and almost succeeded. Not quite, so towed car off beautifully. Really glad I discovered them. read more

Very dissatisfied I received by the front desk lady. She was completely rude as I was trying to ask a simple question. She should NOT be allowed to answer customer calls. Hoping the tow driver will be a bit nicer. read more
