My son's car got towed. Understandable. He was parked in a parking lot an hour after he was allowed to be there. However, I called and asked if they were open on Sunday and if it was considered after hours and they said they were open 12-3, and that it wasn't after hours, we could go pick up the car anytime in those hours. Well, after driving 45 min to north Boulder, the manager told us that we had to pay a $96 after-hours fee. I asked her to remove it because I was lied to and was told I wouldn't have that fee. She said she can pull the call and coach her employee, but she couldn't wave the fee. I was being understanding and kind until that. I was illegally towed the other day in my own apartment complex, and they are required to give 24 hour notice before towing due to the new towing laws in Colorado which went Into effect this August. I take this delineation very seriously, and my case is over the line. In my situation, I was a victim of a legal robbery from a vigilante towing service: Boulder Valley Towing. I was towed from an apartment complex at night, where it is not obvious a towing policy exists, where the parking lot was half full, where half the cars in the lot are 'towable' per the rules. I was at a clients house parked where I usually do only to come out 15 minutes later to my car stolen, or what I thought it was. They towed my car in the middle of a snow storm, I have to drive a hour to boulder everyday from where I live so not only was I stranded in the snow somewhere where I know nobody. I came to get my car a hour after it got towed( had to wait on a ride from where I live). The leasing office called and told them I was there for medical reasons and they still were not lenient considering my situation. Boulder Valley Towing are true lowlife scum. wrongfully and illegally (according to property management) towed a legally handicapped placarded and plated vehicle from a handicapped spot. When confronted, the manager stated "we don't go by that." Upon arrival at the yard, the gate was locked with no handicapped accessible entrance into the property at all (after they were informed we were on our way.) When confronted with any of the ADA legalities, we were threatened with arrest. As a local auto repair shop owner, I stopped dealing with this company many years ago because of issues and insensitivities such as this;. Discrimination IS their business, stay away. read more

This has to be one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with. They towed a friend who spent the night instead of driving home over the limit after 1 warning in December. While other visitors have gotten multiple warnings. It is a matter of consistency. Whether it is being hung up on twice or being told we will try to fix this in the future, this company has no skills in helping or handling people. They also show differential treatment at our complex. Giving some people 7-8 warnings a year, while others only get 1 warning from a previous year and get towed away. Last night, my car got towed by this company. Their website says they are open 24 hours, and that I could get my car Sunday at 1 pm. I arrived there at 1 pm, and no one was there. I sat there for 30 minutes calling them multiple times and they didn't answer at all. I finally got ahold of someone and they said no one could be at the site till 2:30 pm. (This place is 20 minutes out of town) The man on the phone was extremely rude and VERY unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend anyone to have there car towed by this company as they are very rude and unhelpful. This company is unethical when they go around at 3 am looking for people to tow. My friend stayed the night (true he didn't have the correct tag - but ONE night?) and he gets towed. Next morning wake up and no truck? Then there were so many tacked on charges - an extra day only because they wouldn't answer their phone so we could arrange a pick up and then charged $150 administration fee-for what? Would give zero stars if I could. I understand getting a car towed absolutely sucks, but this company is rude and unprofessional. Got our car towed after dropping a friend off at her apartment around 10 pm. Due to minimal signage we had not seen the private lot signs. After realizing where the car had gone, we called here and they told us to get the car tomorrow and it would save us $66 for after hours fee. Thought that's great, a good way to save a little after outrages towing costs. Get there and the guy dealing with says they will not honor the $66 off we were told about over the phone. Even though he knew exactly who told us that information. He told us the fee was for non business hours which he stated was Monday through Friday(towed Friday night picked up sat afternoon). Online suggests differently, business hours state 24-7. Get to car, the front bumper is full of new deep black scratches from the way their drivers handled the vehicle and he could not care less. read more

WORST company I have EVER had to deal with, they don't even deserve ONE star! They illegally towed my ONLY car (which apparently they do a lot). They think they're above the law. They're uneducated and absolutely rude! When I called in to see why they took my car without warning or permission, the guy told me I owed him $300 and hung up on me. So found a ride ALL the way to Boulder and went to talk to this POS. He then starts telling me that I was illegally parked and he couldn't see the permit. I asked him for PROOF. He tells me he doesn't have to provide proof and I said: "The hell if you don't!" He then shows me the pictures after I had to tell him it was my right as it was MY vehicle, and these pictures don't even show where my permit was placed, in fact, you can barely see anything from these pictures. So I told him, those are not appropriate pictures. He said they were. I showed him where the permit was. Then I asked him where the work order for it being towed is. He said he didn't have one. I told him without a work order or any proof, that he just illegally took my vehicle. He didn't really say anything. I asked him for the contract he mentioned between them and the apartment complex, and he said the apartment had them, and I said: "Well that's stupid, considering ya'll should both have them for legal reasons AND the fact that you do this to people often." He glared at me. I then called the police who told me that Boulder Valley Towing actually has to be CALLED by the complex each time a car needs to be told. The guy admitted to us that he was not given a work order and was not called, and that he (his words not mine,) "Prowls the lot for illegally parked vehicles". I called him out on it and told him what the cops said, and he started yelling at me. So I told him to stop talking so I could figure it out with my roommate, he eventually got pissed enough that I called him out and made him look like an idiot, that he asked me to leave. Well, sweetheart, be prepared for a court date and for you to be handing me back my car, which you illegally took. What a horrible company, they totally think they're above the law and they can steal cars that aren't illegally parked. He's just pissed he was outsmarted by a woman who did her research. read more

Spent two days trying to call this company to remove a car illegally parked in my parking space and I swear to God that they just stopped answering my calls after a while. Was originally told that it would be "an hour" and the next day that "there was no one in the queue before me". Eventually the guy just moved his car. Excellent, prompt, service with a lot of good cheer! I used Boulder Valley Towing to tow a car that was parked in my assigned space. They arrived in 15 minutes, and were professional and courteous. BUT! as it turned out, the car in question belonged to someone I knew who hadn't told me she needed to use the space! BVT was soooo nice about it, and gave my friend her car back at no charge. Their driver was rude, covered with dirt and grime, and not the least bit professional. There office is a disgusting disorganized mess and is indicative of the type of business they run. These people towed my car due to an error on my side. I parked where I shouldn't have. No big deal. The issue? I find my car and come to pick it up, its been gone for 2 days, I didn't notice until I went to leave for work. Cost me $440 to get it out. Why? Because apparently in 2015 it costs these thieves $150 to notify me of where my car is. Sure. Its not like I spent an hour trying to figure it out, and was able to do so. So surely they wouldn't have been able to do the same thing, and instead used some type of insanely expensive technique to locate me, which I am sure definitely cost them every cent of that $150. Because Google is free. I would never use this service, even if my car died next to their lot. Don't trust these thieves that think a piece of snail mail justifies over a day of hard work from my pocket.
