We broke down and had a flat. Called AAA and they said it would be about 20 minutes. It was about 40 minutes but the tire was changed in a flash. AAA auto club has become a telemarketing company. Their primary product is SPAM. I have been swamped with deceptive postal mail and email at least weekly since I joined AAA. The mailings are deceptive with big red letters saying "Signature Required" or Important or Urgent but nowhere on the envelope is "AAA" or "insurance". AAA insurance is the worst. AAA appears to "share" personal information with third parties who spam you too. I've have asked repeatedly for AAA to stop this, but it continues. Unless you want a mailbox full of junk, weekly, forever, don't give AAA your name, email or address, ever. Even for towing, there are alternatives with better service for less money. AAA keeps restricting what the basic membership covers so they can upsell you, or sell you other stuff. Keep away from AAA. read more

I have had AAA for twenty years, and they have always came through eventually. Last week on a cross country trip I had a blowout on I-80. Called AAA because I have the trailer coverage and it was 6pm on a Wednesday. After wait two and a half hours on the highway, AAA said that they couldn't help me till 10am the next morning! I am a long time member. My usual great experience working with AAA for my insurance was disappointingly highlighted today when I attempted to get my travel insurance for my upcoming trip to Europe in May. An agent was recommended in the Boulder office. I called and got a voicemail to leave a message. The agent did not call me back but a secretary called me and said the agent requests that I make an appointment to have a phone call with her and the earliest she could speak with me is March 17th! A week away. Not impressed at all with this style. She asked for my details - dates, email etc. How kind of them to fit me in and decide to talk to me next week. Their style made me think they would have thrown together some figures and emailed it to me. I will look elsewhere for my travel insurance and see if I can speak with someone who might be able to give me a better, more interested "I want your business" type of response. After 5 days of trying to get our car with a broken starter towed to a dealership by AAA, spending two to four hours a day on the phone trying to get service and still not having success getting a tow truck to the house. It was next to impossible to get customer service support. Finally after getting a supervisor on the phone, they said there is no service in that part of Larimer County. I have had AAA all of my adulthood and am a fan. I travel extensively domestic and internationally and have always gotten great service discounts. I utilize AAA for small weekend trips to my international trips, they always offer sound advice, resources and know how. As for locally, I have used their services several times, they contract out to 3rd party towers, it is NOT AAA fault if those take longer then estimated, it can be longer then they quote but for goodness sake, have some patience. Find another service that will come pull you out of a ditch in adverse conditions that does it better. I will always have AAA as a traveler and vehicle operator. People are too quick to complain without realizing the logistics that go into making things happen, I have never been disappointed with my service. read more

My car slipped into a ditch on the side of our driveway. Needed to be pulled out. We have been members of AAA Colorado for 36 years, Tried to reach them and got put on hold three times. The first two times I reached an agent after 20 minute wait. Agent disconnected me shortly after we connected. Second time, 15 minutes and a disconnect. Third time, waited for 30 minutes. Was told it would be a 3+ hour weight before they could respond. Never showed up. AAA used to be very good, but not for the last 5-6 years. Suggest you look at all their more recent reviews. They no longer offer quality service and aren't worth the money. We canceled our membership. suggest you do the same, because you can no longer depend on them when you call. If you are thinking of joining AAA, don't do it. Find another auto service. There are good ones out there. read more

I went in to get my Passport Photo taken to renew my passport, which is a very nice service offered for only $7, and the gal who assisted me was wonderful. It is a complaint regarding the mobile app. It is very bad, does not have sufficient views of side roads and totally did not identify us of 1 hr waits for construction near Walsenburg. Absolutely HORRIBLE. We were having trouble with our car starting, called for a jump and possibly a new battery. The agent told us they would be there in 30 min. After an hour of waiting and hearing nothing, we called for an update and were told they were on their way and would be there in 15 min. After waiting another 30 min, we called and were told the first guy wasn't coming and it would be another 45 min. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. NO updates, no communication. My experience with the local AAA was great. Beware though, this company somehow put me on automatic renew and the plus RV membership without my knowledge. We don't own an RV. I contacted AAA and recieved horrible service. I'm pretty sure the first agent I talked to was crying and the other 3 I talked to simply did not care, even though my car was dead in a busy intersection. The second time I called, the agent I talked to told me that my request had just been sent in, which was 20 minutes later. When I called the third time (20 minutes later) the agent rudely quoted my tow to be at 1:19 am (30 minutes from then). A police officer pulled behind me with her lights on (because my car was totally dead in an intersection) and offered to call the company the police use for tows (Ace Towing Enterprise, the same as AAA). Within 15 minutes, a tow truck arrived and towed me the three blocks to my apartment complex. Finally, after I had been home for 15 minutes, AAA (finally) called me back and said a tow truck would be there in half an hour. I'm so thankful the police officer called the tow company because my car was in an extremely dangerous place and after the officer called, the truck showed right up. read more

I am not sure if this is the correct AAA site for my recent service in Longmont but here it goes. I was visiting my daughter and family recently in Longmont. My daughter was taking me to the airport on my birthday to fly home. Just before she got on I25 her tire low pressure warning signaled. She pulled into a gas station where we saw a very flat tire. I called AAA Roadside Assistance and explained the situation. They said they would make every effort to be there as soon as possible but within 45 min. and texted me a confirmation of such. Rob showed up within half an hour and he was just what we needed. He had the flat changed in 15 minutes and had us on our way. He was great! He was a great representative of AAA and why I have had a membership for almost 50 yrs! Thank you, Rob! read more

I have been in the AAA store twice in the last couple weeks to renew my International drivers permit. Both times I was immediately accosted by a rude, aggressive, nasty woman named Karen. The first time, luckily, I was actually helped by a sweet woman at the second window. The second time I was stuck with this very unhappy Karen at the first window that made me want to get out of that toxic environment asap. Normally when I'm there I browse and pick up impulse travel items. The next time I need their services I will consider going out of my way to find another location to avoid this person that has NO business in customer service. On the day I visited the office there was only one person helping customers and about 4 people. It took about 20 minutes to help the people at the front. There were other staff, but they did not come to help. I was helped after 30 minutes of waiting, then she could not check me out. I still had to wait for the cashier. This included waiting and watching for a major international flight's cost to go down and catching it when it did. OK, there's been quite a few times I've locked my keys out of my car in the past couple years.. but this AAA has saved my butt so many times. Whomever the male employee is with the dog Bandit.. Well... they are AWESOME. I locked myself out like three times in one year, while at work and the same guy came every single time. Every time he was pleasant and his dog was memorable. Following up from the last "service" call.... 2 AAA rep's emailed me over the following month, not to respond to my communications via their Contact Us page on AAA website, but because of my Yelp review. Their first rep emailed as a prompt courtesy and the second was presumably trying to smooth things over. Their last email (Feb. 22) said the management team is looking into it... with all their automation, it's hard to see which calls need attention... many improvements have been made during the past month... and some cryptic lingo about whether my 2 calls counted toward my "entitlements", whatever that means. I asked for explanation of that entitlements part, and also clarified that I'd been forced to make 4 calls before they finally responded, not 2, as I have explained multiple times. They still have not replied, and now it's March 27. Although they're not real good on communication, their billing is flawless: I just received my subscription renewal notice (expires April 30). You can see where their priorities are: early or on-time invoicing, late or no-show roadside assistance, spotty and incomplete communication. I thought AAA was better than this. read more

With all due respect the employees seemed quite over-burdened and didn't have a lot of time to spend and so hurried up the process as much as they could. I unfortunately required some special attention and time as I formulated my trip based on miles, time, etc. This seemed like an unhappy match - the service people being in a hurry and my needing some extra time.
