Changing of the leaves, October 18th
    Mark D.

When my daughter moved to the Hamilton Park (HP) neighborhood, I read that the area was very desirable due in part to the park itself. As I explored her neighborhood and came to HP, I could see why this was said. It gives a nice feel to the neighborhood. I saw a LOT of kids with their caregivers having a great time on the ample playground equipment. At night, I observed lighted tennis and basketball courts as we walked right next door to Rumba Cubana restaurant. The park is well-lit, and I felt totally safe. On a Saturday, I observed vendors selling various items and also an active dog park, which is great for all the poor apartment dwelling doggies in the 'hood, I'm sure. There are plenty of trees, all beginning to turn their fall colors. All in all, HP is a gem in the gritty urban setting of Jersey City. I hope to visit again on future visits to my daughter.

Wonderful park that is kept-up really well. Friendly, safe, and has a wholesome community vibe. Love the basketball court that turns into a Farmers Market once a week + the Tennis court. The fountain is an Instagrammers dream. Plus, its two dog runs are great (trust me we've seen a lot of icky ones).

Recent renovations to Hamilton Park left us speechless. This park is just awesome. Its like an open-air community center, with tennis courts, multiple play areas, two dog runs (bigger than their counterparts in Van Vorst Park), a huge gazebo, and plenty of space to stretch out. My dog likes this park because the huge, old trees house the largest number of squirrels in town! Stop by the Madame Claude Wine shop, Smith & Chang's or the new Hamilton Park Food Co-Op while you're here!

What a lovely park. Clean, superb for children and filled with festivals, events , farmers market, diversity, culture and charm. There's a dog park and you'll always see lovely and unique breeds here. Conveniently located next to the Holland Tunnel kinda. Good food all around this area. Great atmosphere. Calm , cool sensation. Great for families or just to jog or walk through. I love this park. BbAll courts where u can see the St Anthonys ballers come play pickup and nice tennis courts too. The children's park is super awesome, safe, clean and good size !

    2 public tennis courts!

Nice park next to retail shops & dining. 2 public lit tennis courts as well as a full size basketball court are some main draws here. Others include kids playground and dog parks. Definitely one of the highlights in JC

It is quite small, and feels overcrowded the minute 5 or more dogs are there. It is 100% concrete, and because it seems to retain moisture, it is often a little slippery, and filled with sludge (my dog always comes home with filthy paws). The park is under a bridge, so it is protected from most of the elements (rain and snow), which also unfortunately means all of the pee puddles remain on the ground. Also, because it's all concrete, I often times can't stay too long because my dog's paws will bleed from running around. Appears to be a water fountain in the dog park, that I assume they turn off for winter, but it's April and warm and still not on. Have encountered a few aggressive/annoying dogs (and owners), but it is not the norm for this dog park (and is expected at any dog park). There is no separate section for small dogs, and people continue to bring 5 on dogs that have trouble hanging with the big ones (almost always creates a fight). Cool views of Seaport and Brooklyn at night, just note that several homeless sleep near one of the entrances (the side facing Industry Kitchen).

As soon as I walked in the Stench hit me right in the nose. The water running by the sprinklers I did not want my dog to drink out of. However On the bright side it's spacious and they also have some dog decor that's cute, but they really need to manage that place more. When they do I would definitely come back.

I finally had a chance to visit it on a Wednesday evening after work. The Battery was formerly known as the Battery Park. It's a historic park that overlooks New York Harbor. It also provides amazing views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the waterfront! The battery is approximately 25 acres. You can also visit some of the national landmarks using the ferry located at the Battery. One of the features at the Battery is Castle Clinton. It is a circular sandstone fort build in the early 1800s. Castle Clinton functions as a national monument and a visitor center at The Battery! While I was exploring the Battery, I also stumbled across the SeaGlass Carousel! It was such a beautiful ride, It features illuminated fish sculptures! The park also has a variety of gardens and playgrounds! During the year, there are seasonal events, performances, and other programming! Make sure to check out the Battery website for the list of events! If you want to visit the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island, you can purchase tickets online with the pickup at The Battery! If you're visiting the Financial District, I'd recommend stopping by The Battery! It has a lot of great activities!

In my opinion it does not feel like a park because there's no children's playground. It looks more like some corporate building entrance area. The trees also have nice lights on them for a nice lighting effect for the night time. So nice. There are benches and stone tables and chairs to eat lunch. Many people do that there. This park kind of sucks sometimes because there are some random construction workers or people that smoke in the park and too bad the wind is so strong that the smoke goes on you. Other than that, the park is good for sitting and dining. The park is kind of long with stairs by the halal food carts and if you're handicapped or with big luggage then you can go around and enter it without taking the stairs.

This dog run is named after PAPD K-9 Sirius #17. He was a bomb sniffing yellow lab who served in the World Trade Center. He died during the 9/11 attacks when Tower Two collapsed. His body was recovered and he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. There used to be a plaque that explained all this, but I'm not sure where it went. It's not the largest dog run I've been to, but it's a decent size for most dogs. There's no partition so small and large dogs play together. It's paved, which I prefer to using gravel for the ground. There are two hills and one crater that fills up with water and becomes a pool. It automatically drains itself as well. There's a two-level water fountain off to the side. One level for dogs and one for people. I have often seen someone spray the pavement down with a hose at night, so I know this dog run is definitely cared for. There are nice benches all along one side. Overall it's a very nice-looking dog park. The park itself is elevated a bit so you can look out on to the plaza and the North Cove Marina. There's nothing like spending an hour or so enjoying the afternoon with your dog overlooking the water and people watching. I think what really makes this an enjoyable experience though, is the people. The other dog owners are courteous and friendly. There's a sense of community among the regulars. If you live downtown, this is the place to bring your dog!
