I thought it was interesting that this library is located amongst the houses, for some people I'm sure they could walk here with their eyes closed. Right at the front of the library they have a hold box. I could be wrong with the name, but this is where they hold your book, and you could pick it up even when the library is closed. I walked inside, there's book sales and community events posted. I went to the computer to search where my book is located. According to my search result, I went to look under fiction. It wasn't there. There were other works by the same author. I went to the front desk to ask for assistance. The lady started walking towards a totally different direction. She went to look under Mysteries, I found it under New Releases. She explained that they're going through a new system, it might be difficult to find some materials. She was very helpful, despite me finding it. They also have a spiral staircase leading to the children's department. I typically love to explore the children's area, I was in a rush this time. There were some noisy kids having a fun time. I had a successful first time at the Cora J. Belden Library.

A pretty library with friendly staff - they have nice open areas to read and research, and even…read moresome art on the walls. Parking was plentiful with an easy in and out; there was even a knitting group meeting outside when I pulled up! They seem very community oriented.

I love this library because they have a lot of books that I like to read as well as cool events…read morelike art exhibits and book sales. The biggest pro is that they have an ongoing bookstore inside the library that the Friends Of The Library own and they're open on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings. There's also a free book section in the lobby as well. There's some cool monthly book displays as well as self-checkout station, scanner, chairs to sit, computers, clipping seed display and many more. There's also a really nice Children's room. The librarians are really nice people and they're helpful. The library services are exceptional.

Occasionally I'll stop by when I have a book in mind that I'd like to check out. The Bishop's Corner Library is a branch of West Hartford Public Library. This is the smallest of the three libraries in town. Despite being small, there's everything here. A smaller library is so much easier to navigate. The books are well categorized, whether they're biographies, fiction or new releases. They have a quiet study area on the opposite end of the library from where the children's play area is. They have books for every child's interest. There's also computers that are marked by child's age. I stopped by the library for a specific book. It was in the new releases. It's actually a book that was released just a few months ago. And they had it at the library. You can check out with a librarian or at the self checkout. The checkout is very easy to use if you have your library card on hand. I have been going to this library for many years, I will continue to do so for many more.

We were looking for a quiet cool place to read this afternoon after being in the sun for several…read morehours at the Wethersfield PorchFest on Main St. First we stopped by the Wethersfield Cove which was lovely by the water, but there was no shade. So we checked out their public library. What a beautiful place! The staff are welcoming and kind. The 3 floors of books are conveniently and hospitably set up, with lots of tables/chairs. Brightly lit, with several spacious study rooms along the sides. Basement is children's books, first floor nonfiction, and second floor fiction for the most part.

I always push my luck and stay until the last 3 mins... The man (who I presume is the manager) is a big pacer. He may pace outside your study room but I do believe this is just part of his exercise routine. Books seem to be in tip top shape Overall: 10/10 Would recommend this library!!!

This library is located on the site of Glastonbury residents, Harriet Welles and Sturgis P. Turner…read more After her death, the land their home was located on, was donated to the town so a library could be built on that site. It was dedicated to Mrs. Welles, her first husband, and their family in 1952. Expansion continued throughout the years as the town grew. It looks like a large house with a giant tree out in the front. There is also a patio area. My family and I really enjoyed our time in this library. It's modern and spacious. We loved the children's area; there were Legos, mini playhouse, train set, toy kitchen, and computers. The librarian was very helpful and friendly. Similar to other libraries, they have many events, classes, and resources. It's a great asset to Glastonbury!

This is the review of the Rockville Public Library:…read more In the downtown section of good ol' Rockville, just across the street from the Rockville General Hospital is the place where the world of reading exists. Along Union St. is a place called The George Maxwell Memorial Library (known professionally as the Rockville Public Library). Housed in over 100,000+ books, periodicals, movies, & other resources, this is the place you might want to look forward into (if you haven't been there, I'm pretty sure you'll like it there). This is a reader's favorite place to read & relax! I have been coming here for many years. This institution is one of the town's most recognized landmarks in existence. Opened in 1904, it had been an independent library up until just last year. It finally became a town department (in prior years, it was operated by the endowment given in dedication to the memorial of the late George Maxwell) in July of 2018 so the town of Vernon now takes full control of this 115+ year old landmark. Now, once you walk inside the library by using the front entrance, you'll notice that they have a lot of historical, well-maintained elements from the time the doors were first opened to the public. Here, you'll see a lonely chair in the reading room (that hasn't been repurposed or recycled) that was there since 1904, along with a light fixture on the top of the ceiling. In the Adult's Department, they have a lot of selection of books, ranging from bestsellers to biographies to books on Holocaust in the dedicated section about its historical event. They don't just carry books, they also bring to you cupcake pans on loan. Then, in the Teen section, they have their room with a lot of selection of these books. Yes, they have a teen librarian who runs it! Next, you walk downstairs, and there you see a Children's room. A room that has a lot to offer for young children & tweens. There's a lot of children's books for all ages! Every time I visit this library (I go there every couple of weeks, considering it's my hometown library!), there is something new I want to get carried on in my hands. A book, a movie, or even a magazine may excite me a lot as I always use my library card to check it out. Annually, they bring in a month full of festive trees in December, a student art exhibit during early spring, etc... You might want to consider making your stop at the library the next time you head out! Just to either get a library card (and have a book checked out!) or attend a library event. The Faxon Branch Library, is part of the West Hartford Libraries, it is the smallest of the three…read morelibraries. The entire library is in one room, on one floor. Despite how small it is, it still has all of the resources one would find in a typical library, including the very friendly librarians. My class is currently learning about animals. I thought Free Willy would be a great movie to play them as a reward for their hard work. I popped by the Faxon Branch Library to see if said movie on DVD was in stock. And it was! I also picked up a few books about bears who hibernate. The library is very organized and clean. If they happen to not have an item you're looking for, they can easily borrow it from another library. I think the smaller the library the more organized and the easier it is to find what you're looking for. My class loved Free Willy, and both of the books!

This review is specifically for the kids section on the second floor. I've read reviews that they…read morehad a huge section designated for kids, so I had to check it out. Once you walk in from the parking lot, take an immediate right up the stairs (I don't know if there is an elevator). This floor was huge! Biggest kid section I've seen. The Teens room had their own room. There were multiple study rooms which is pretty awesome, I haven't seen those in the libraries I've been to in the past. There's an art studio as well. The kids/preschool section was nicely decorated. The books were organized and they seem to have a huge collection of childrens books. My toddler loved the play kitchen; there's a puppet section under the tree, a play boat with fishing toys, blocks, chess table, computers, and magnetic blocks. We spent over an hour there and it's a great place to take the kids. I see that they have many events planned that's posted on their bulletin board. I will be back for sure!

So in terms of the actual library: parking was ample. It was an easy in and out. The actual building was impressive, it looked almost like a modern castle, and they had trash cans by their front door. I can't tell you how much time I have wasted in my life trying to find a trash can, and they have two within eyesight of the front door. The bathrooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the books seem to be part of a thorough collection. The actual author event was fantastic; they went above and beyond to make it as summery as they could, and were even playing the sounds of crashing waves as people walked in. Clearly a lot of thought went into every detail.
