The new director, Lois, is a vet and well-credentialed. She's instituted some positive and fun changes in a short amount of time. Taken down most of the plexiglass erected during COVID, allowed staff to be creative (see pic on book return slot, as one example), brought back newspapers, is bringing back game night, to name a few of the many recent things. Staff is always helpful and friendly. And check out the pic of this week's cool message. I didn't snap last week's, which was: Dinosaurs didn't read Dinosaurs are extinct Coincidence?? This library is huge, and it has so many interesting things (including books, of course). There's…read morean old graveyard outside with graves of various legibility, but appear to be at least 1800s. Currently on the interior walls are community quilts, and they lead to the older library built in 1902 (I'm pretty sure I remember that date correctly). This portion has the Library of Things and pillars! The newer portion has many, many books. It's very historical and very cool.

I love this library because they have a lot of books that I like to read as well as cool events…read morelike art exhibits and book sales. The biggest pro is that they have an ongoing bookstore inside the library that the Friends Of The Library own and they're open on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings. There's also a free book section in the lobby as well. There's some cool monthly book displays as well as self-checkout station, scanner, chairs to sit, computers, clipping seed display and many more. There's also a really nice Children's room. The librarians are really nice people and they're helpful. The library services are exceptional.

The location was home to a General and it was originally built in 1777. It's a large and beautiful library with plenty of parking. My children and I explored the ginormous children's room. There was a computer area, a train table, a puppet area, a toy kitchen, blocks, and games. There were plenty of places to sit. I love that they have self checkouts. The librarians were friendly. I've said it before and I'll say it again and again; the library is a great resource! It has events, programs, museum passes, and more. My children and I are library fans. Overall, it's definitely up there with one of my favorite libraries.

I even like read to my kids there sometimes (when they want to listen). The rest of the library is upstairs. Simsbury Public Library is definitely one of my favorites. Once you walk in, the childrens section is on the left side. The employees were very friendly. They have up to date technology, which is convenient! There is a kiosk you can check your books/items out with. Don't forget to download the Libby App, you can borrow audiobooks on there. Also, you can reserve items and they leave it in a lock box outside and you can pick it up after hours. The library is a great resource; they offer programs, services, computer access, museum passes, workshops, and career/business centers. I highly recommend it.

I have been bringing my 22 month old here since he was 6 months old. Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Katie are very friendly and knowledgeable about children's books and activities. The Librarian was very friendly and greeted us when we walked in. You can't miss the book tower in front of the librarian desk; my toddler and I were in awe looking at it. The children's section had a big fake tree that a child can go in. There were computers, Legos, train table, dollhouse, and other toys. There was a tween reading area. Although, this was not the biggest library, it was indeed lovely. I noticed a trail out back and had to check it out. The trail is called Doreen's Nature Trail and it was peaceful and neat. It is in memory of the former Library Director that tragically lost her life. Overall, this was definitely one of my top 10 favorite libraries I've been to. I wish my local library had a trail in the back!

This is in honor of East Granby originally being named Turkey Hills. The inside of this library is very well kept, with a grandfather clock that immediately caught my eye. There are some beautiful plants and a nice amount of sunlight coming through. They have a self serve coffee and tea station. The books are nicely organized and there's a substantial amount under every author. They also have an area for kids and teens. As well as quiet areas where you can work on your computer. The kids area is a lot of fun, with a large "tree", the kids can go inside of to play. The books are also plentiful in this area. They also had a selection of books for sale. Here I found a book that I was very interested in a number of years ago. It probably would have been $1 if I wanted to purchase it. I sat down and read about 20 pages, and decided it's a bit too sad to fully involve my self in it right now, so I put it back. This library is quite a nice one in the small town of East Granby. Be sure, you're going to the library not the town hall, as they're right next to one another.

This is the review of the Rockville Public Library:…read more In the downtown section of good ol' Rockville, just across the street from the Rockville General Hospital is the place where the world of reading exists. Along Union St. is a place called The George Maxwell Memorial Library (known professionally as the Rockville Public Library). Housed in over 100,000+ books, periodicals, movies, & other resources, this is the place you might want to look forward into (if you haven't been there, I'm pretty sure you'll like it there). This is a reader's favorite place to read & relax! I have been coming here for many years. This institution is one of the town's most recognized landmarks in existence. Opened in 1904, it had been an independent library up until just last year. It finally became a town department (in prior years, it was operated by the endowment given in dedication to the memorial of the late George Maxwell) in July of 2018 so the town of Vernon now takes full control of this 115+ year old landmark. Now, once you walk inside the library by using the front entrance, you'll notice that they have a lot of historical, well-maintained elements from the time the doors were first opened to the public. Here, you'll see a lonely chair in the reading room (that hasn't been repurposed or recycled) that was there since 1904, along with a light fixture on the top of the ceiling. In the Adult's Department, they have a lot of selection of books, ranging from bestsellers to biographies to books on Holocaust in the dedicated section about its historical event. They don't just carry books, they also bring to you cupcake pans on loan. Then, in the Teen section, they have their room with a lot of selection of these books. Yes, they have a teen librarian who runs it! Next, you walk downstairs, and there you see a Children's room. A room that has a lot to offer for young children & tweens. There's a lot of children's books for all ages! Every time I visit this library (I go there every couple of weeks, considering it's my hometown library!), there is something new I want to get carried on in my hands. A book, a movie, or even a magazine may excite me a lot as I always use my library card to check it out. Annually, they bring in a month full of festive trees in December, a student art exhibit during early spring, etc... You might want to consider making your stop at the library the next time you head out! Just to either get a library card (and have a book checked out!) or attend a library event. Cute library tucked away in the wooded 16 acres lot. It was quiet, comfortable, with a group of…read moreolder women whispering to each other as they knitted. They have a good selection of books for it being a smaller library. I especially appreciated how they had certain books standing out front and center so you could readily pick them up. Both of my book selections were like this, and they were really great reads. If there's a book you're looking for and they don't have it, ask and they'll order it for you. Cozy, comfortable, quiet, and inviting, everything you want in a library.
