I love this library because they have a lot of books that I like to read as well as cool events…read morelike art exhibits and book sales. The biggest pro is that they have an ongoing bookstore inside the library that the Friends Of The Library own and they're open on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings. There's also a free book section in the lobby as well. There's some cool monthly book displays as well as self-checkout station, scanner, chairs to sit, computers, clipping seed display and many more. There's also a really nice Children's room. The librarians are really nice people and they're helpful. The library services are exceptional.

I got a book mark prize, it was Halloween-tastic!

Currently on the interior walls are community quilts, and they lead to the older library built in 1902 (I'm pretty sure I remember that date correctly). The library is not suitable for expansion but unfortunately the library is really overgrown and have barely any more space for most books to shelve. Bookshelves are cramped as well resulting in so many books withdrawn yearly (there is a basement for more storage of books but unfortunately not enough space for more books as well.). The good news is voters approved the deal that would move the library to a brand new building where Webster Bank currently is down the street (the Webster Bank will be relocated to another property and its building will be demolished for new library construction). The Cheney Library building will still be there once the library moves out of that building once the new library building is complete within the next few years or so.

Donated from different walks of life the library does well to ensure eveything is there for your fun time ahead. You can borrow the games up to 3 weeks and they even added in renewals which is a nice feature. The only thing is that the games have to be returned while the library is open and sadly here is the only place that carry an extensive selection but hope that others hop on. Do you part and support the local library and try a free new game before purchasing or having a great time. With so many games for so many different type of people and groups drop by and see what they have.

So this is the second time I've ever been to the Booth & Dimock library, thanks to the Connecticut Authors Trail, and I've got to tell you, it's a hidden gem as far as libraries go. Very clean, well lit, fully stocked, pretty up to date as far as technology goes, I was immediately struck with how this historical little library is everything that a library should be and then some. The staff were incredibly nice and pleasant, very helpful, and the bathrooms were both very clean (go downstairs to the children's restroom, they have a Harry Potter switchplate on the light switch). Very cool little library with a history, if you're in the area you should go. You know, pick up a book and read it instead of being on FaceBook or Instagram. Or instead of just an eBook. Thumb through some actual pages. I've never seen a more interactive and interesting looking children's section in a library.

This library is located on the site of Glastonbury residents, Harriet Welles and Sturgis P. Turner…read more After her death, the land their home was located on, was donated to the town so a library could be built on that site. It was dedicated to Mrs. Welles, her first husband, and their family in 1952. Expansion continued throughout the years as the town grew. It looks like a large house with a giant tree out in the front. There is also a patio area. My family and I really enjoyed our time in this library. It's modern and spacious. We loved the children's area; there were Legos, mini playhouse, train set, toy kitchen, and computers. The librarian was very helpful and friendly. Similar to other libraries, they have many events, classes, and resources. It's a great asset to Glastonbury!
