I took my 8 year old trimmer in for a tuneup after it failed to start this spring. I got the call a…read morecouple of days later telling me it would need a new carb and other parts, totaling $150. I said fine as a new cheap one would be about the same. I got there and was pleasantly surprised that the total came to $125. Good start. I got home and used it for about 2 hours and it completely quit, no start, nothing. I took it back and after a couple of days got the call that the trimmer was dead. Over the phone, they offered to credit me the $125 toward a new one if I would stop in. All of this sounded like a scam and I figured I was in for a fight. I was ready for battle as I entered the shop. We talked about the old trimmer and I explained that I have a rototiller attachment and that a new trimmer would need to be able to use it as well. That limited my choices, ruling out the pricey new trimmers on the wall. The gentleman offered a very similar used model to my old trimmer they had taken in as a trade-in, no charge, and even said I should take my old trimmer with me for parts in the future. He even threw in some 2 stroke gas to make sure the trimmer ran well. Was all of this ideal, no. Did this small shop go above and beyond to help out a new (and future) customer, absolutely! If this trimmer gets me another year or two of use I'll be happy and I'll return a satisfied customer.

Called ahead to schedule tune up and mulcher blade (3) replacements for riding mower. It was running fine but just wanted annual tune up and blades and I wanted to keep my lawn mowed until they were ready to do the work. Three weeks later and excuse after excuse I got my mower back only after going in to complain. You would think for a tune-up and mulching blades that added up to $442.56 that they would have cleaned they old grass clogging up under the mower deck! Not impressed with service or attention to detail.

This place can fix just about anything that runs on a small engine. Plus they offer great service…read moreand helpful staff. I have had them service my riding lawnmower several times and always been happy. I love that for a small fee they are even willing to pick up the mower and drop it back off when it's done. It sure beats borrowing a truck or lugging it onto a trailer. My latest encounter with them was due my mower not starting after coming out of winter storage. It turned out my mower had a cracked head gasket, which I thought meant it was done for. Happily the fellows at TK were able straighten it out no problem, and at a very reasonable cost. It's where I go for repairs!

Unfortunately,…read morethis year my brother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and is having difficulty managing his affairs alone. His snow blower quit during the last storm, and TK made an appt to go and pick it up at his home. He completely forgot about it and was not there at the agreed upon time. When they called him to reschedule, and to explain he would be billed for the missed pickup, my brother was very unpleasant and hung up on them. Later, when I was paying his bills, I contacted TK to ask about the fee (I didn't know any of the above occurrence). I spoke with Steve who was very understanding and very kind. He understood the difficulty we are having, and the "awkward" stage between independence and losing freedom to manage things himself with dementia and he credited the fee back to us. I cant speak to their work - but I can speak to their humanity. I will speak highly of Steve's integrity and service to anyone who needs small engine repair!!
