Dino The Tailor - Nightstand that you assemble

Dino The Tailor

Dino is the f***ing best. He has been taking care of my family's tailoring, alterations, and…read moretuxedos for my whole life. I can never imagine going anywhere else. Dino's attitude is top notch and he really cares about his customers. He always puts them first. Not only does he have the best prices, he is the most experienced tailor in Michigan. Look no further than his stellar list of famous clients like Mohammed Ali, Chuck Daly, Gregory Peck, Elin Nordegren, Bridgitte Bardot, Jerry Vale, Lee Iacocca, Joe Dumars, several former Miss Michigan contestants and many more. Dino always says, "Don't look rented."

This was by far the worst tailoring experience I've ever had. I took a bridesmaids dress here to get slightly taken in and shortened a few inches at the bottom (pretty simple request). I came back a month later because he took in the dress 3 inches too much at the top and didn't shorten the bottom. When I came back, I politely asked if he could take the dress out slightly because it wouldn't zip and shortened so I wasn't tripping on it. He proceeded to tell me I didn't need the dress shortened (?) and that even if they took the dress out completely, it still wouldn't fit me (insinuating I was the problem the dress didn't fit even though I initially purchased the dress a size bigger than usual to account for alterations). He told me he would have his dress maker take the dress out and to come back in 2 days to get the dress remeasured. When I came back to get resized, Dino (out of nowhere) screamed at me telling me I was VERY irresponsible for coming to his store before he closed even though we spoke twice on the phone that day where I was making sure if it was fine to come at 6. He then proceeded to yell at me and my mom that the reason my dress didn't fit me was because i "put on pounds" and told me my mom i'm a "big girl" (i'm a size 6 - S/M). He also told my mom and me that my dress didn't zip because when women are on their menstrual cycles their chests get bigger (wasn't on my menstrual cycle - he just took the wrong measurements). This old man is extremely unprofessional and misogynistic. He would rather blame the customer for his incorrect measurements than admit that he made a mistake. Understanding weight fluctuates but it's physically impossible for someone to grow 5 inches horizontally in one month which is what he was telling me was my problem (a pant size is 1 inch mind you). I paid $120 for the incorrect tailoring and to be insulted by an old man - do NOT waste your time or money here.

Fun fact, May is busy. Weddings, prom's, Bar Mitzvahs... it is all happening. Walking in a week before prom, I was concerned we were SOL but as long as we were ok with the traditional black tux, Sam's could make it happen. This was actually our first choice. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy. After wandering around, it appeared a line was forming so we lined up. However, after a few moments, a younger women approached asking how she could help. She measured, wrote up the order and and cashed us out in less than 10 minutes. She explained what the next step would be and we were on our way. I have tagged his mom and grandma in for pick up but based on past experiences with my boys and the efficient from last Saturday I have every confidence everything will be fine. TBH I have no idea how they compare to other tuxedo places, pricewise, but I think they have a great selection and the customer service is clearly a priority. Now that I am done with dressing young men for prom I will have to find some black tie events for my husband to take me to. :-) They have a very nice selection of mens clothing and they might do alternations, although I am not sure if that is just for purchase from them or if they take outside work as well. A+ customer service! Highly recommend.

Every time I walk in, they make me feel like a million bucks. The selection is incredible, the pricing is fair, and the service is unmatched. It's the complete package! I've bought multiple sport jackets, suits, and even a tux here, and every experience has been outstanding. Love this place!

Instead of getting the dress back the week after the Dream Cruise, I already have it back and it's 100% wedding-ready for my position as matron of honor in my brother's wedding. Since they were not able to complete till the afternoon prior, the dress was not put on till night of prom, sadly. I went back the next day with pictures. Before I could even explain, both Mike and his wife screamed at me, waved hands in air as to strike me, and ordered me not to return. I was in shock, as I approached in a calm manner asking what they could do as far as a fair reimbursement. I did not request any amount, but I did share that the dress could never be worn again. I had hoped for return of the service $150 I would encourage you to notice the quick temper of these owners prior to giving them your item to alter. Possibly simple hems, but they did not appear experienced to handle these new formals with multiple layers, or at least was not able to properly hem this one. So sad to see a beautiful dress, with a gorgeous young lady attend her first prom and feeling awkward about her crooked hemmed formal. Pictures show gown from formal shop with even hem. Other photo with red line shows hem dragging on ground on the back and left side. Right side is correct length, but back and left falls several inches below. Horrible!
