Shown to a table immediately by the 'front of house' member of staff. Didn't catch her name, unfortunately, but a really charming young lady. Must say that is a good starting point of this review, the staff are brilliant. Friendly yet professional and attentive. The carvery cannot be beaten at those prices and, unusually, the veggies are fresh. We have been to some where the veg has turned to mush. All I can say is, if you are hungry and in the area, give Whitewebbs a try. Trust me, like us, you will love it.

When ever I've been, you choose between either roast beef, turkey, pork or gammon. Or you can have a selection of each. This place as a real old style pub feel to it. You can have a few drinks at they bar if your need to wait for your table. In my opinion its very well priced here. I would imagine that you would spend similar money cooking your own roast dinner. They do great deserts here too. The staff are generally quite friendly. There's a large car park at the front so parking should never be a problem. There's also a large garden at the back which is quite nice during the summer months.

We didn't eat there as the kitchen is not yet up and running (hence only 4 stars) but there was cold food on offer which looked very nice. Will definitely visit again.

Fortunately, en route to visit the gardens in Capel Manor College down the street, I was able to spot the Pied Bull before things got out of hand. The monster reared its head, and I did an immediate U-turn to feed the beast. Expecting the usual pub mystery meats covered in clotted cheese, we were surprised to find that this establishment considers itself something of a gastro-pub serving a variety of odd "fusion" dishes, including a crepe-like ratatouille pancake, decent vegetable puree soup, chorizo covered in what apparently passes here for haloumi cheese, and a tuna steak that is of course cooked all the way through until it is dead, since, although great strides have been made, you Brits have a long way to go before you become acclimated to seared raw fish. Not a bad diversion. My grandmother was serene as butterfly fluttering about the gardens the rest of the afternoon.
