Listen... I only come for the food!! I don't care what you order I've tried it all and it's fire! I mean you don't have to ask for anything the kitchen crew has you covered!!! I had to ask who is the mastermind in the kitchen and my hat goes off to my man Mike In the Kitchen!! Crab Cake it alllllll lump, wings and fries fries to perfection, burgers are made from SCRATCH and served on a buttery toasted bun!! The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the turkey burger!! The lady owner has a bad attitude but usually stays off to the side so try to stand clear of her and you will have a fab night!

Just tried to go here to watch the Nats game and it's closed!! Why have hours if you're not going to follow them...a waste of taxi money.

We happened upon this place when we were in the area after dinner. It was a Saturday night and it…read morewas surprisingly pretty quiet when we arrived, which I think was around 9pm. We sat at the bar near the back and were immediately greeted. The bartenders were super kind and quick. They chatted with us, but didn't linger. It was a great mix. They also ensured our drinks, including our water, were always full. They also brought out some snacks (on the house) for us. Music was on, but not too loud. We stayed for awhile, and pretty soon we looked up and were like, oh my gosh, this place is packed! Pretty soon there were people everywhere and it was so loud. We decided at that point we wanted to head out, but the bartenders still made sure to say goodbye. We will definitely be back when we are back in DC. Great vibes, atmosphere, and service!

Stopped by The Haymaker while hanging out around the H Street Corridor with my lady. I had passed…read morethis place before but had never actually gone in, so we decided to stop in and check out the happy hour situation. Drink-wise, we had the frozen mango margarita, which was very tasty, and my lady had the pisco sour, which was also really good and refreshing. For food, they team up with Little Miner Taco. We started with a small order of beef nachos. The flavor was definitely there, but my only complaint was that the toppings were a little underwhelming portion-wise. I would've liked a little more meat and toppings spread throughout the nachos. We also ordered the three-taco meal and went with the steak tacos. Those were absolutely amazing. Great flavor and definitely something I would order again. My only issue with the tacos is how the ordering works. With the three-taco meal, all three tacos have to be the same flavor. Since it was our first time trying the food, I would've really liked the option to mix and match three different tacos. They do sell tacos individually, but at around $7.50-$8 each, buying three singles ends up costing considerably more than the three-taco meal, which was around $20. They also offer a larger variety pack, but you can't substitute any of the taco choices in that either. I think allowing customers to mix and match would make it much easier to try different things, especially on a first visit. Atmosphere-wise, it was cool and laid-back. We went pretty early, around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Our bartender, who I believe was V, was very helpful, attentive, and provided great customer service. Overall, I definitely enjoyed The Haymaker and would go back. There were a few other things on the menu that caught my eye that I'd like to try next time. Aside from wanting a few more toppings on the nachos and a little more flexibility with the taco options, everything was solid. Definitely a 4.5 out of 5 for me.

This was ON A TUESDAY (and that's relevant because I'm over 30 and it was a work-night lol). It wasn't necessarily my scene, but it may be yours, so I'll drop the bullet points so you can decide for yourself. -Small establishment with street parking (The outside is honestly a bit sketchy-looking.) -The crowd was mostly locals that really just wanted to have a good time. Many were dancing--which I always want when I go out. And the club started to fill up around midnight. It actually packed out!--Yes on a Tuesday! -The DJ played mostly hip hop & rap. -I didn't personally try the food, but friends thought the tacos (beef or chicken) were good except that the tortillas were falling apart. -There was a full bar & nice bartenders, but the drinks were strong--but NOT tasty. -Bottle girls? Um... -Single bathrooms that were clean -The turn-up? Real. --Oh and it was hella smoky. My throat was on fire when I left and the smell was all in my clothes and hair. I think that about covers everything. Happy hunting!

I am on their email list (and yes I read most of my emails that are of interest to me) and noted they had an Oktoberfest kick off party happening this week on Thursday evening from 6pm -9pm in their outside patio, so decided to come here. We showed up at 6pm on the dot and the place outside was already packed with people. They were having a live Oktoberfest trio band play, so that was cool! A lot of people were in their Oktoberfest garb/outfits, which was adorable. The challenge was getting a beer and a non alcoholic drink for my mom. They had nothing NA for her and she ended up just having a glass of ice water. I got in the mobbed line and had a Kellerbier, which was brewed especially for Franklin's and Oktoberfest. They had an issue with their handheld payment device so that made the line longer. Beer was fine, but wished I could have gotten my mom a lemonade or iced tea. The other issue was the seating. We opted to sit over in the sandbox/kids area and the picnic tables didnt feel like the best use of space. The trio band was lovely and played some nice tunes including Edelweiss which is one of my favorite songs ever (yes I loved The Sound of Music and have watched this so many times as a kid with my mom) but it would have been nice to see the band more in the center of things, closer to the bar hut. They were serving up German sausages and huge pretzels but the line for beverages and food was so long that I didnt bother to purchase food. This was a great idea and I hope that the next one they do, they can iron out some of the wonky kinks. I'd come back again for an Oktoberfest for sure. My mom and I had a great time!

Only reason I stopped by was to watch the Bucks @ Wizards game and while they did have the game on the big screen, the audio was for a WNBA game playing on a different TV that nobody was watching. They might have better food and service on a different night and I'd really like to see it if they do because otherwise the place is chill and the TV screens are freaking ginormous.

The actual restaurant/bar drinks and bathrooms is the issue needs to definitely be updated. So back to the good part of the review: the food. Now I love me some Birria tacos and usually they are the size of a small corn tortilla...but not these! When she brought me out these ginormous (3) tacos I couldn't believe my eyes! They were the size of my open hand past my wrist! Now my pictures don't do them any justice because it took me 2-3 days to finish them and the side of Mexican rice which was also so big! So be aware that you will have food to take home for lunch or to eat later as I'm a grazer myself...lol. Now the margaritas were not good at all and tasted premade which for an authentic Mexican a spot as this seems to be should be a no-no! I did like the salsa that tasted homemade and asked if I could take a side of it home! As usual I love finding a diamond in the rough and this is definitely it! Cydney took my order, and although I had to repeat myself a few times over all the noise, she got everything PERFECT. I ordered the Lobster Garlic Noodles with salmon, and that was all I needed. With the crowd, I fully expected to be standing around until after 8 PM, but Cydney handed me my food around 7:45. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical like, "Wait...has my food been sitting somewhere?" Chile...NO. I got in the car, opened that container, took one bite and immediately started eating like I didn't have a home to go to. The noodles were HOT, the pasta was perfectly al dente, and the garlic flavor was GARLICKING! There was a good amount of lobster and shrimp, plenty of that garlicky sauce, and the salmon completed the whole situation. Meanwhile, the dine-in wait was running about 1-1 1/2 HOURS, so that takeout order felt like I had cracked the code. Thanks, Cydney, for taking care of me in the middle of all that chaos! I'll definitely be back whenever that Lobster Garlic Noodles craving hits again...because now I know exactly what I'm coming for.
