Don't expect a red carpet, well, actually, I think it's maroon, so..yeah. Anyway, the place has quite a few fun characters hanging about. The waitress does an amazing job at karaoke and she gets the crowd cheering. The bar reminded me of a TRUE neighborhood type bar with a nice mix of young people, fun couples, and of course the karaoke stars/wannabees, which is nice. The four of us had drinks, a few shots, some good laughs all for around 70.00; that's prettty damned good. Sure, the place is rough around the edges, but hey, on a Saturday night, it was hopping. I'll def go back. Maybe next time I'll try the karaoke.OH, btway, the karaoke notebook needs better organization, it's my only gripe, well, and tell the man bartender to smile a bit more. A couple of us had (Morningstar) veggie burgers, another two had sandwiches, and one person ordered a calzone. The veggie burger was good, the fries were amazing, and the calzone was larger than expected, beautifully baked, and oozed delicious-looking cheese when cut. It must have been good as well as the lucky person who ordered it ate the entire thing!! We even had a fantastic waitress who checked in on us regularly and made sure we were happy every step of the way. I am a believer - Mad Kat's is five stars all the way!

Yes, they're a thing. I really like salty martinis, so this was right up my alley. It was so good, too! The pickle flavor was there, but wasn't overwhelming. I wish I could have another one right now. My sister ordered The Happy Ending and loved hers too. Their cocktails aren't exactly cheap, which I realize is a bit of a negative for Bangor folks (I grew up there). But, I really don't mind paying a bit more for a really well-made, craft cocktail.
