Parking was every where but our host is a season pass holder and drove to the VIP parking lot behind the venue. A short walk up a gentle incline and we were at the gates. The pavilion's web site gives clear instructions on what is and is not allowed. They checked my small bag and off we went. Tickets read the doors open at 6:30p but due to some heavy partying one band had not even done their sound check yet. They opens the gates 15 minutes later. We made our way to the way back of the theatre where the VIP section was. Showed our tickets got a bracelet and off to the VIP area where they have two full bars, 3 small fire pits with ample chairs and on the upper level couches and tables as well as bar stools to enjoy your beverage. We got our drinks and off we went to our seats. We were seated behind the orchestra section with the whole box to ourselves. We sat down for maybe 10 minutes and the show started. Ratt was OK but slow, they must have been the ones hung over, they sounds sluggish. Only knew one song they sang so glad they were not the head liner. A break for bathrooms and more beverages with some free popcorn. Then Vince Neil came on. He was good. Danced to a few of his songs from Motley Crew. The lighting and effects were great, really energized the crowd. Another intermission found it my turn for drinks. Two beers, a small box of wine, and a THC drink to the total of $58! WOW! $72 with tip ouch! The headliner was Brett Michaels. He was AMAZING! Energetic, talking to the crowd, and singing clear and strong bravo! Over all a great experience and will return when able

My wife has mobility issues, and the Merrill Auditorium and Bangor's outdoor amphitheater apparently do not want her to attend. Concerts in both of those places were ordeals in comparison. But where the Collins Center is concerned, there is plenty of parking, including handicapped spaces, right next to the building. And plenty of leg room in all the aisles. This place joins a very short list of indoor venues we are willing to plan on attending.

The site named after the towering elm trees that populate the town. CONCEPT: The event space brings life back into the former 18,000 square foot circa 1895 residential building, and provides a community music venue in which neighbors can gather and hear a variety of musicians from across the country. EXPERIENCE: I experienced a performance of the Young Fables, a musical and real life female/male duo formed by Laurel Wright and Wes Lunsford. The duo was on tour in the region, and hail from Tennessee. They had been solicited by The Elms at Castine owner to perform two consecutive summer nights. Justin Cooper introduced the duo, and set an expectation that everyone would hear the entire performance. The makeshift performance space is narrow, holding 12 large round tables, each accompanying four guests. To further reduce distractions, a fifteen minute intermission was scheduled between the 8:30-10:30 PM performance. The intermission allowed time for community connections, which is a significant component of events at The Elms at Castine. Given the residential building most recently served as an inn, there is a bar near the performance area, and guests are able to bring their purchases to their assigned tables. In speaking to homeowners in the community, it is clear that they appreciate the addition of an evening entertainment venue. I was impressed by the talent of the duo, Laurel's voice, and Wes's guitar playing, an opinion shared by the audience. Although an audiophile, such as my husband or professional musician could notice some acoustic issues due to the makeshift performance environment, it was not apparent to me. TIPS: Upcoming performances are listed on the website, and tickets can sell out quickly. By clicking "buy on map" customers can view and select seats that are available. There is an Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramp to help those who need it, but to avoid interior steps into the main performance space those with disabilities will need to reserve a special, limited "VIP" seating area that overlooks the enclosed porch. Unfortunately this area currently demands an additional charge, 50% more than the $40 general admission.

They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

We were warmly welcomed, and graciously thanked for attending. It was like going home to family, not a stiff cold theater at all! The inside has been extensively renovated and is BEAUTIFUL! The waitress was very friendly and even shared some Acadia hiking tips. For food I ordered the lobster poutine. I have never had anything so decadent! It arrived hot and fresh with French fries, lobster, Brie, sour cream and chives in a delicious lobster cream sauce. This was one of the best dishes I had while in Maine. The event itself was so much fun - we will definitely do that again! The waterfront park is beautiful. Clean. Pretty. Spread out. Convenient to downtown. I want to come back in the summer when the docks are in.
