I took a belly dance class with Haley, and I really enjoyed it. However, there are a few points that I was concerned about. 1) It is very important to stretch before exercising. Her class did not start up with a warm up stretching session. I would end up coming earlier and stretching before class. 2) Proper form and technique was not touched upon as thoroughly as it should have been. You can cause serious harm to yourself if you are not practicing the proper form while belly dancing. All dance classes I have taken previously emphasis safe dance practices, I didn't really get that from her class. Haley was a very fun instructor, and the practices were very enjoyable, but I wouldn't take the class again for the above specified reasons. Edit: I would also like to add that there was a day or two that she was clearly going through some personal trials and used the hour to make herself feel better (left all of us behind and danced for herself) instead of focusing on her students. Haley is amazing! She's patient, thorough, talented, supportive and passionate about what she does. Don't worry about being a beginner, she makes you feel you are in a safe environment and will help you learn the basics. I took her Belly Dance classes for over a year but had to stop when my schedule got too hectic. From what I garnered, she loves to teach and see her students excel. And if you're good enough, you might even get to perform with her. She's mesmerizing.... Great teacher and person in general! Take a class with Haley! read more

Haley is an outstanding instructor! Haley really takes her time to break down movements to her students. When I took my first class I was nervous but Haley was so patient and sweet, and I am happy to say that I am still taking classes 3 yrs. later. There are no pretentious snotty attitudes in this class, it's just pure fun and learning. I recommend taking her beginning belly dance classes for those just starting out and if you really want to kick it up a notch, take her Saturday class. read more

Haley is an awesome instructor and an even better performer. She is great at explaining difficult moves and pushes her students to do the best they can. As a performer, she gives her everything to the audience. With her as your teacher or performer, you can't go wrong! read more

Haley teaches belly dance, cardio barre, and a killer abs & glutes class at Fitness for Life. She's terrific - very thorough, really knowledgeable, and absolutely immune to whining and begging for mercy. She pushes people to their own -- not someone else's -- limits, provides correction and encouragement where needed, and is right along side doing all the same stuff you're doing (except 50 times better, of course). She explains things well and uses helpful analogies that make the movements more understandable to those of us who aren't dancers by training or nature. I feel so fortunate to have someone of her caliber teaching at a fitness studio. Unlike a lot of dancers, who teach merely to pay the bills, Haley takes her teaching as seriously as her dancing, and works hard to insure that classes are worthwhile. read more

Just moved to the area so I thought I would try out belly dancing! Was very impressed with my first class. Haley, the instructor, is very upbeat and nice, but she makes sure you are learning at the same time. As someone who has lived in Ventura County, let me begin by saying that Haley Nicole's dance classes are a breath of fresh air and she offers a unique opportunity to receive a real education in the arts. Anyone who has lived in Ventura County longer than a month knows how starved for cultural amenities these cities can be. Without a doubt, Camarillo needs Haley's classes! Haley Nicole is a great dance teacher! She is a truly gifted performer and remains graceful and professional under any and all circumstances. The nicest thing about Haley's classes is that she maintains a balance between professional teaching, whilst managing to include all types of learners and ability levels! (any and all shyness, disabilities, anxieties are welcome and worked through) Her classes are not clique-ish, nor are they places for people to criticize and self-deprecate. Haley inspires her students to find their own strength and grace and everyone is accepted and included for their efforts. If you live in VC and you have any inclination to express yourself through dance, please take one of Haley's classes. She can enable you to find an aspect of your creative self that you might otherwise have known nothing about. I never leave dance class without a smile, no matter what kind of day I might have had. Just took my first tap class with her. She is fantastic! I've seen many dance teachers work over the years and it is rare where you find one who provides proper instruction and combines it with being supportive, encouraging, and enthusiastic, without "dumbing things down" either. You will be encouraged, not coddled. You will actually learn, not just get accolades for showing up. Most of all, she makes it fun! When I'm finished with tap, I'll look into other lessons with her too. :) read more

Haley-Nicole's Barre class is fantastic. It's the only exercise class that I've ever stuck with. People ask me what I do to keep fit. What a compliment! I tell them about her class and that she's a belly dancer too. She makes the class fun w/ upbeat music and she participates. She doesn't let you quit. I've noticed that I've gotten stronger in my core, legs and arms. My backside has definitely improved. My husband kisses her every time he sees her. read more
