I've been to many gyms over the years and usually quit in a week - but I LOVE this place! The staff is so great, encouraging and personable. What I really enjoy is the demographic of the members. Not just the super fit Gen X, Y, whatever, but a real mix of every age (boomer like ME) and fitness who are all just having a GREAT time getting fit. I do about 2 miles in 40 minutes on the tread - have lost 5.4 pounds in 35 days (with a bit of Weight Watchers on the side) and now only have 4.9 to go to get back to where I was pre-COVID. Dogs inside the gym, this is simply too absurd. Having to put up with animals in restaurants, and now in the gym as well? One person's freedom ends where another's begins. Where is the respect for people who are allergic to animal dander? The gym is filthy, and now I understand why: we keep finding more and more animal hair. I am also making this post because, during my time at the gym, I have witnessed some truly terrible situations. First, there are people who don't wear proper athletic shoes opting for flip-flops instead which is unsafe both for the wearer and for others, as it can easily lead to an accident. Second is the way many women there choose to dress; they look as if they work as strippers, heading to the gym while exposing absolutely everything. I've paid closer attention to this issue ever since several men at the gym started making comments expressing their disapproval, which surprised me, as I had previously assumed that men, in particular, would actually enjoy seeing women dressed in that manner. Ultimately, the gym is a place where such things simply shouldn't happen and certainly not where one should encounter "animals" roaming the premises. It has become truly unwholesome. read more

A lot of the low reviews are in response to the amount of effort it took to cancel memberships during the pandemic. It's definitely unfortunate, but so far I haven't experienced any issues with staff and have yet to try and cancel. My review is based on post COVID and mask regulations. There are sanitary wipes all around so you can easily disinfect equipment. Most people use common sense and put weights back. There's an awesome turf area for the sake of having a turf area. The yoga studio is in good condition. I haven't interacted too much with the staff but everyone has been friendly and courteous so far. I haven't had any issues waiting for equipment but disclaimer I also go between 2-4 pm. On to the fun part. Depending on what time you go you can get a lot of teeny boppers. It took me a minute to realize I was essentially at a high schools weight room. Again this depends on when you go and since it's summer it makes sense. Also is it just me or does everyone woman where gym shark leggings and a sports bra? I completely missed the outfit requirement to workout here. This isn't a hit on the gym at all but a reflection of Camarillo. ALSO read the fine print when it comes to personal training. It's the ultimate game of gott'emmmm. Don't get me wrong prices are still solid but why would you bold and market sessions based on 25 minute rates? AND THEN recommend in fine print to book 50 minute sessions? ALL OF THIS TO SAY... it gets the job done for a dirt cheap price so of course I'm coming back. Is it a UFC gym? Is it a CrossFit gym? Ines's fire playlists, teaching style and high energy engage and encourage you to dig deep and push yourself.Everyone leaves drenched, destressed and uplifted. When the beat drops, you are invited to let loose and get it. Though her class is advanced, she physically cues and reminds her class to listen to their bodies. I've been a member of this gym for 8 years now. I'm still loving it. They've added some upgrades in recent years and have recently upgraded more of their equipment. After being a member here for so long, it's nice for it to feel like you're at the gym with a bunch of your friends. One of my favorite things about this gym is the spin classes. Spin is such a great and fun workout. The classes at Fitness 19 are the best. I love the variety of music played by the instructors. The music really helps keep you going. All of the instructors are great. They're fun, friendly, and motivating. A couple of my favorites are David and Lisa. Great Location! Right off the freeway! Very Spacious! eventhough multiple occassions I have been here alot of the freeweights are taken. Can be somewhat messy at times. Multiple machines not dusted off, always run out of wipes or staff just hanging around the desks or on their phones. Has been ocassions guys get their friends in thru the bqck door by the squat rack but I mean I guess it's a thing! NO KIDS CLUB which is a bummer but to be honest if you are looking somewhere close to home, plenty of cardio and classes this is the gym. I tried to cancel my membership due to job relocation over the phone and I was told I could not do it. I spoke to Gabe. He has the absolute worst customer service! He was rude,no helpful at all and to top it off told me to set my alarm to wake up when his manager got in and call back. I just worked a 12 hour shift in an urgent care and I work again tonight. The worst part...I am now on the East Coast. If I was Andrew(manager) I would fire him for the way he treats the customers that basically pay his paycheck!!! To top it off, they have been using an expired card to get their payments! I called another Fitness19 and the person there was more than helpful and was able to help me cancel my membership. Camarillo resident and big fan of the fitness 19 location here! The monthly membership is super affordable and the class schedule is great, I especially recommend their Monday evening cycling and the Monday/Wednesday morning kickboxing classes with Albert. These classes have such a fun, friendly vibe, which makes time fly and you get a great workout. Another great thing about this location are the personal trainers. I've been working with the trainer Collin to set fitness goals and improve my running stride and it's already made a world of difference. Collin is super friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging while giving the type of honest feedback that leads to actual improvement. 10/10 would recommend working with him! read more
