Lamb Kebab, rice portion on the right side, hummus to the left and chicken kebob on the back.

Food had an ok flavor, but the experience was not so great. Food took a long time to come. Greek salad not so Greek for being an authentic family owned restaurant. Greek salad in Greece has lots of feta (usually a block), lots of kalamata olives and thickly sliced cucumbers and tomatoes. Didn't see that on the plate. Lamb kebob was tough. Lamb in klefticon was very soft and came off the bone- wonderfully prepared. Hummus had a great taste. £6 for a small bowl- no extra dippers for the hummus. Chicken kebab was the best, it had a great flavor and it was well cooked.

Good Greek restaurant in Kensington. Family owned. Reading al if the other reviews I expected more from this restaurant, and overall it was just average and slightly over priced for what we got. Would not go back with all of the other restaurants in London.

This is hands down some of the best Greek food I've had. They provide an interesting starter which I've not had in any Greek restaurant my home country (USA). Fresh radishes and raw green onions. My husband joked I wasn't supposed to eat the table decorations. There are also pita bread slices, salty olives and pickled peppers on the table. It's a very cozy narrow restaurant with limited seating. I like the decor. The dark walls with oil paintings and low ceiling creates an intimate homey atmosphere. The kitchen is visible. It's also audible. This is definitely a family restaurant with loud raucous laughter and chatter. A stern looking grandmother kept an eye on the chef and wait staff. The waiters are gregarious. They treat you like family. Opa! We had the lamb casserole ( loved it!), grilled lamb kebab, quail kebab, moussaka (creamy goodness!) and a Greek salad. If that wasn't enough we had the baklava which had a refreshing citrus/lemon finish to it. I would definitely come back here the next time I'm in London.

The best Greek in the world! My husband was raised in London and has been eating at Helepi for 50 years. The food is outstanding and I love the intimate small feel of the restaurant. Clearly family owned and run and they do an amazing job. Best dish is the beef stifado- very tender stewed beef in a delicious sauce. The grilled meats are good as well, and we always start with a Saganaki cheese, which is very hard to find.

Not much for vegetarians that you can't find else where... sadly... but the good news is that the baklava is really lovely.

The Ledbury - 3/2/23 - Truffle toast

Honestly, after The Ledbury got its third star, I was a little worried it might get too "precious"…read moreor stiff. I've been to enough 3-star spots in London where the food looks like a science experiment but tastes like nothing. Thankfully, Brett Graham is still keeping it real. The plating is genuinely stunning--the kind of art where you actually want to stop and take a photo--but the best part is that it's actually delicious. It's food you genuinely enjoy eating, not just something you admire for the technique. The pigeon courses were the absolute standout for me. They serve it in stages, which I loved. You get this perfectly glazed breast that is so tender it's basically like butter, followed by a little "snack" of the leg that has this incredible deep, smoky flavor. It's rare to find a place that treats game with that much respect without overcomplicating it. If you're on the fence, definitely go for the wine pairing. The Sommelier was a total legend--super approachable, no snobbery, and clearly obsessed with what's in the cellar. The pairings were exceptional and honestly made the meal for me. They aren't just pouring the standard labels; they're finding really interesting stuff that makes the earthy notes in the pigeon pop. Price-wise, it's a 3-star Michelin in Notting Hill, so it's going to be a hit to the wallet. It's on par with the other big names in the city, but it felt worth every penny for a special night out. The service is polished, but they don't make you feel like you're sitting in a library--you can actually have a laugh and enjoy yourself. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in London. Period. Elite Tip: If they have the signature mushroom tartlet on the menu when you go, don't even think about it--just eat it.

Not only was the food, amazing, atmosphere, gorgeous, but the service was funny, entertaining, expressive, and personal. It wasn't stuffy like some of the restaurants we have been to. The restaurant size is intimate and cosy, proper for a date ot lunch meeting. The service was very attentive and welcoming wich always makes a good impression. First,…read morethere are only 14 seats (not to be redundant or anything; it's just that small), which means it books out weeks in advance for a weeknight table and months ahead for a weekend spot. Next, the eponymous place is headed by Marianne Lumb, a MasterChef finalist in 2009, and her merry band of restaurant ninjas: a sous, a dishwasher, and a front-of-house consisting of two whole people, who are always a delight. That's it. Other things you should know: - The space was obviously someone's front parlor until recently, which makes it amazingly cozy. - Prices are beyond reasonable (3 courses at £48, with cheese it's £60) and menus change weekly and seasonally. - The wine list is substantial. - There is a waiting list for neighborhood locals. They use it to fill out late cancellations. I've gotten the nod twice in about four months. - The truffle brie is divine. Ask for some honey and oatcakes to accompany it. All things considered, it's one of the best new restaurants in London. If I had written this after the first time I went in December, I would've said it was the best new opening of the year. However, having been twice since then, the dishes have waned a bit, but this could be attributed to the lack of variety this time of year. Hopefully it picks up again in the coming weeks. Last, I waited a few months to post this review, because I haven't wanted any additional competition. But since we're upping sticks and heading down south before long, I'll just say: have at it, kids! It's a great local spot, and Marianne and her team deserve all the support they can get.

It's…read morequirky and cosy; the food is good, the service is friendly; and the bill will make your jaw drop - but in a good way. I was taken there recently by a friend who lives nearby. The exterior doesn't prepare you for what you find inside - not that much could. What you find is an intimate space, decorated in dark reds with baroque panels, rather like the sort of small 18th century opera house you might find in Prague or Salzburg. There are even little balcony "boxes" with tables accessed by vertiginous stairs (NB not good for long legged or tall people). The food is a mixture of French and modern European. There are vegetarian starters and mains, but the menu is heavy on throroughly meaty dishes, such as char-grill Lamb Steak, with crushed new potatoes, julienne vegetables and green peppercorn sauce, or chicken breast stuffed with minted minced lamb, herbal mash and Port wine sauce. I had the grilled Portobello mushroom, prepared with garlic and served with spinach and a roast pepper sauce; followed by roast aubergine strudel, stuffed with grilled asparagus and ricotta cheese, served with French beans and a tomato and basil sauce. Service was very pleasant throughout and I like the fact that they don't charge for a basket of bread. The prices vary depending on whether you book before or after 7pm; you'll save a pound on the starter and a couple of pounds on the main course if you go before. We had a very decent French vin de pays as the house wine. Pleasanter still was the bill - £55 (including service) for three people each having two courses, after 7pm. I'll definitely go back - or maybe try one of their other branches...

The owner is really, really into his restaurant and excitedly told us all about all the different specials and options. Sauce sampler of hummus, taramosalata, tzatziki and baba ganoush with bread. 2. Meat sampler of a single keftede, spanakopita and loukaniko per person. 3. Horatiki salad. 4. Entree served family style of grilled pork and chicken. 5. Dessert of yogurt with honey, a single baklava, karydopita and kataifi per person. Courses came out fairly slow and they unfortunately forgot about us for our last course. The owner gives great service, but he can't be expected to be on top of every table as it got very busy. The female server with reddish hair (spoke Greek) seemed out of it and not a good help to him. We ended up spending more than 2 hours at the restaurant, and it came down to the owner not having good support from the one waitress around, but the food was very good.
