Terrible customer service. We ordered delivery. We had to call twice to ask where our food was as it was considerably late. We were told they have a new delivery driver and she made a mistake in the order in which she was delivering food. No apologies and we were just expected to deal with it. I expressed my disappointment and told the manager that I am unlikely to order from them again given this negative experience. The manager asked if I wanted to be compensated for my trouble and I said yes - figuring maybe they would refund some of our order, give us a credit or something. I could have eaten 10 more...A 'pot pie' that was nothing like any pot pie I ever had- a crust covering the most savory ingredients, veggie-heavy and yet, light and tasty...A tiramisu dessert delicately blending lady fingers with the traditional pudding flavors (Mahalabia or maybe kheer)? My wife and I first foray into Indian cuisine in at least 15 years. We were simply tired of the same old stuff. Before the food I have to mention the service, the manager franky was phenomenal. Helpful friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered the veggie samosa, which were delicious, a little bit of spice, soft potato filling and a crunchy outer layer. For the main course we had chicken korma. So aromatic creamy and fresh, a delight to our bored tastebuds. We also ordered a tandoori platter, again totally satisfied, fresh tasting, a bit spicy the dish included fish , shrimp, chicken and lamb. I'd just like to echo the other sentiments already posted here on yelp that they offer an excellent lunch buffet. You're given the opportunity to try dishes you may be unfamiliar with and discover new tastes you didn't know existed. My personal favorite things here were the garlic naan, their chicken 65, and their butter chicken. I went again a few weeks ago and this place is under new management again. I ordered chicken korma, chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. They all came out a light yellow color and tasted identical. When we spoke to the manager, he said they are no longer using food coloring and that was why they looked different. I explained that the tomato in the chicken tikka masala should at least make it look different and the coconut milk should make the korma taste and look different. I also explained that all 3 tasted the same. To make things worse, he started giving me a lesson on these dishes. I liked the chicken 65 and even ordered another one to go since we didn't care for the other dishes. When I got home and opened it, it was nothing like the dish I had at the restaurant. It was as if another chef made it. It was so sugary, I ended up throwing it out. I have given this place so many chances and will not be returning. read more

Went back to give the buffet here another try since own contacted me and apologized for the short-comings encountered on my first visit, explaining that the chef happened to be out that day. So on my second visit they were not out of anything that should have been in the spread. I also liked that the warming trays were continually replenished during the meal. The service was excellent, and the staff is genuinely friendly and aims to please. However, I can't say that any of the dishes really blew me away. In fact several were under-spiced to my liking. I was not expecting to find such delicious Indian food here in Eatontown NJ, but wow, Haldi Chowk really knows what's up. They are the golden nugget of the little strip mall that the restaurant is nestled in. They were very busy when we walked in, but we waited a short five minutes before we are sat. They have a free little appetizer when you go in, which is a delicious and a great start to your meal. We ordered the samosas afterwards and they were delicious. I had the Chicken Kurma and it was breathtaking. Sauce was perfectly seasoned and creamy, with just the right amount of spice. The chicken was incredible- perfect texture, buttery soft, and so moist.
