Went here because I heard it was a nice and chill study spot, the food is so good! I went late night and they have trivia and lots of seating. I got the grilled cheese with steak, and I'm still thinking about it. Service was nice lots of helpful staff. I'm definitely returning.

Waffles with blueberries and whipped cream. The latte had a shot of Lavender with oat milk!

First time visiting Halcyon. We went early, almost as soon as they opened. The workers were very polite and knowledgeable of the items on their menu. The ambience was amazing! Love the music they were playing. And their food was delicious!!

My best guy friend and I spent nearly six hours walking all over downtown and made sure to stop by Halcyon for a warm latte on a cold day. Such a beautiful, edgy-cool area with wonderful service.

Halcyon is a great place to get some good coffee and delicious food. I was at Halcyon on a Monday afternoon(Memorial Day) and it was happy hour all day on Monday. I got a Thai coffee and it brought me back to when I was in Bangkok in 2023. The Thai coffee wasn't too sweet and that is the way it's supposed to be. I got the Thick Chicks since it was at happy hour prices for $6. You get four Mac and cheese and chicken egg rolls with ranch and another dipping sauce. They were nicely sized and very tasty. I highly recommend them for happy hour or regular price. The service was very good except one thing. I wish they would have a speaker system that would allow people to clearly hear when your name is called to get your coffee. I missed my name the first time and someone took my coffee by mistake. I loud speaker system to inform people that their coffee is ready will fix this issue. It's a cool place and I still recommend this place. I hope that management fixes the one major issue.

Cool bar/coffee shop with lots of seating for people who do work or study there. Neat vibe on the inside. Great for happy hour in the evening or coffee in the morning. They do little snacks during the day and a weekend brunch. Big windows with natural light, a place to sit outside. Dogs are welcome on their patio

Repeat customer. Stopped in for a beverage to kill time in between appointments. Luckily my visit was on Monday - happy hour all day. I recommend.

Came here for brunch with a friend and enjoyed the convenient Southtown location. Lots of parking and it's right off the River Walk bike trail, so it's a perfect pit stop for a nice bike ride too. We just came to chat and catch up, did not realize they have a love DJ for their Sunday brunch. Thankfully it wasn't too loud and the music added to the atmosphere. I enjoyed my breakfast burrito and my friend had a breakfast sandwich with avocado - they forgot the avocado but they brought it by so she could add it in herself (a little messy). I really enjoyed my burrito, it was filling and pretty tasty. The soft tortilla wrapped everything tightly so the filling didn't fall out. It was a good balance of eggs, sausage, cheese, and potatoes. Yes, you can definitely get a cheaper breakfast burrito or a half dozen breakfast tacos at a local Mexican restaurant, but I enjoyed what I had. My friend enjoyed her breakfast as well. Altogether a fun stop for a casual hangout

Good coffee... a bit on the strong side. Definitely overpriced. Cute decor. Location to the Riverwalk is excellent.

It's been 4 years since I last reviewed this place. I'm still a happy customer all of these years later. I don't see the games anymore but the music and staff are still of great quality. I also tried their latte of the week: Taro, and it was so good. Try it iced :)

Nice spot for after dinner hangout. They have a full bar here. Order to your hearts content. My cappuccino was fantastic. Love the ambience. Funky and country all in one. Lots of places to sit and chat including outdoor. Great for studying with friends or get together. Definitely a must visit. Service was excellent. Plenty of private parking. A must visit in San Antonio. Cheers!

Do you happen to have a go-to spot when you're asked where you and a new friend should link up? Welp..Halcyon happens to be mine. It has all the things that make for a great spot to relax and converse with family/friends. Nice music, coffee for the non-alcohol drinkers, cocktails for those looking to unwind, and food for all the snackers. I don't know what it is about their veggie skillet, but man o man is it delicious! You gotta try it. I kind of wish I was back in college. This is also a perfect spot for those evening study groups. Grab an espresso, connect to the WiFi, and dive into those books! Overall, this place is a pretty cool spot. So go grab a coffee or a cocktail and soak in the vibes!

This place is a true gem!! Happy hour is amazing with a great selection drinks and food! You can easily get full for 2 for less than $35! We got the 1/2 plate pesto pasta, which was super flavorful (although pretty oily). Also got the chicken biscuit, which had a large chunk of chicken, as well as the cheesy tots! The long island ice teas were only $6! And they have wine, beer, cocktails, and coffee too! The indoor area has plenty of seating, with options to sit on the outdoor patio. You order at the register, and they bring you your food to your table. The music is a tad loud, but you can still hear people at your table! It was pretty busy during Sunday early evening between 5-6pm, but there was enough indoor seating and parking available! This place is also dog friendly and kid friendly!

Is there Wi-Fi available to do work?

    Yes there is!

Yelp and Google both say y'all have vegan options. The menu says vegan options are denoted with a VG. But when looking at the rest of the menu there isn't a single thing with a VG next to it. Are there vegan options? Are there just none currently?

Our current menu has a vegan sausage Sammy, our avocado hummus plate can be made to be vegan with a few modifiers, and just currently started carrying a vegan banana cake, sold out for today though.

    Is there close parking?

Yes but it is very crowded everyday its open

Could I take my dog and sit in the patio?

Of course! Hope to see you soon.

Can you do homework in the cafe?

When I've been there always seems to be people doing laptop work so I am assuming there is WiFi to use if needed! Sometimes it can get a little crowded so the main issue just may be finding space for it!

    Does the kitchen close?

Hi there! Kitchen closes at 10 pm, but we have multiple pastry and smores offering until 2 AM

If you need want to beg for seat while people drink coffee all morning on their computer then belly up To the register and order, no table service and they care?

Not sure if this a question or not but I'll try to answer it. They may not care at the coffee bar,… Read more

Unfortunately, the service was the disappointing part of the experience. It felt inattentive at times and didn't quite match the level of hospitality you would expect from such a beautiful venue. Overall, it's worth visiting for the atmosphere and scenery, but I do hope the food and service improve to fully match the setting. Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks.
