Chicken, spicy rice, fries and salad combo
    Mari T.

I ordered from Uber eats for pick up. It was ready within the 15 minutes that they said it should be. When I went to pick up the food was ready and they just put white sauce on it. He asked if that was enough and he put a lot of white sauce on it so that was great. He packaged everything and put in napkins and forks and I asked for ketchup. The salad, fries and chicken were delicious. The spicy rice was a little too spicy for me so next time I'll probably get the brown rice. I didn't eat in but the place looked very clean. Definitely would come back again. $10.99 for a combo platter is a pretty decent deal.

    Lamb Lamb Platter over Rice

Welcome to the neighborhood! Grateful to have a late night Halal spot down the block. Lamb platter over rice is banging. The gentleman at the counter is very personable and remembers my name each time I walk in. You guys stay saving the day!

    Mixed gyro with toppings

The place is spacious, bright, and clean. It reminds me of chipotle or subways. The staff were attentive and ask for your preference in building your gyro or rice bowl. I got to try their mixed gyro (lamb and chicken). The chicken looked good but was lacking flavor and was on the dryer end. The lamb is the way go! The topping after choosing whether you want the rice bowl or gyro, you get to choose your toppings (lettuce, olives, mushrooms, mixed cucumber salads, corn, red onions, and hummus) then you get white, green, red sauce or even bbq (i think). The sauces need more flavor too, i think a little more citrus like a lemon with salt would help it out. The red sauce is not spicy at all. I thought it would be and asked for a minimal dose and didnt even taste the heat. Even though it was the same amount of red sauce i usually get from my halal gyro or rice. The food doesnt leave you in a food coma or residue taste. It's like a healthier option for halal rice or gyro. Prices are also decent as well for the amount of food.

    The food smells so disgusting

Sherry, the owner, personally served us and was incredible, so warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We also had the chance to meet her husband, the co-owner and chef, and it was such a pleasure to tell him firsthand how outstanding the food was. They are both unbelievably kind and welcoming. Now the food, wow. I had the Falafel House Platter, two friends ordered the regular falafel platters, and my wife had the gyro platter. Every single dish was stellar. Everything is made to order, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. The falafel was hands down some of the most flavorful and perfectly textured I've ever had, crispy on the outside and tender and herby on the inside. The gyro was high quality, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. Even the rice was thoughtfully seasoned and delicious on its own, which says a lot. The service, the atmosphere, and the food were all unreal. Truly a 10 out of 10 experience from start to finish. We will absolutely be back.

I went back for a weekday lunch recently and the food and atmosphere both hold up fabulously, so it makes sense why they've remained a brunch mainstay at both their East Village and Williamsburg locations. I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.

Came with some friends for lunch. We all got various combinations of the mixed plate and an order of fried calamari. The calamari was lightly breaded in a flaky batter that brought out the flavors of the squid. Cooked to perfection it was tender, not chewy. As for the mixed platters, we had lamb gyro and the souvlakis as well as the lemon potatoes and fries. The lemon potatoes were perfectly seasoned and had a nice tartness to each bite. The lamb gyro was tender. The chicken souvlaki being moist and flavorful is the barometer for the level of detail that goes into every plate served.

It was a little hard to hear and converse at times as it gets crowded, but the food was delicious and there are really unique items on the menu. Food: The duck shawarma was one of our favorites! The lamb and scallops were also flavorful and tender. The dips were delicious with the pita, but I wish the serving size for the dips were bigger. The fries were great - well seasoned! Also recommend the milky pudding, it was a nice refreshing way to end the dinner. We were lead upstairs to a table. There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.

The food has always been freshly prepared, in large portions, and cooked quite well. I'm thankful that has not changed much. On my most recent visit, we got a Mix Grilled and Vegetarian Plate to share between four people. There was so much food that we did not have dessert next door as originally planned. Prices are higher nowadays, but you are receiving great value for what you pay. Both chicken shawarma and the beef kufta from the Mix Grilled tasted great, especially with the provided zesty white sauce. I also added hot sauce to mine, which made it more satisfying. The chicken kebab was not bad, it had a nice char, but slightly dry. All of the accompanying humus (a bit salty), salad, rice, and garlic pita were excellent too. For the Vegetarian Plate, though good, I would like the falafels to be fluffier. The best things I enjoyed on the plate was the fried eggplants and baba ghanosh. It also comes with cous cous, which was good. Fresh middle eastern cuisine, made with quality ingredients and care, this restaurant may not be my first choice in Astoria because it's not as sexy as some of the other offerings, but I'm glad that they are still around when I just want a quality meal at a reasonable price.

Simply outstanding -- friendly, helpful...just puts you at ease. The food is pretty good too. The kufta kebab was delicious, the accompanying salad was as well -- if I had any nitpick it was that I didn't necessarily love their house sauce and the combo of pita bread + french fries is perhaps a bit too many carbs for my liking. Besides that, this is a great neighborhood gem.
