I got the shawarma beef wrap and it was incredible. This is my second time eating Mediterranean and I can only say that it won't be my last.

Such good flavor! I went with the falafel wrap and it was great. Sometimes falafel can be bland but this had lots of flavor and there was a nice ratio of ingredients in the wrap so I got a little bit of everything in every bite. Hot sauce had some kick but complemented the yogurt sauce very well. Boyfriend got the chicken shawarma wrap and he was raving about the seasoning on the chicken. My boyfriend and I got the lamb over rice and wow, it was so good! 10x better than any street-food in New York that charges the same price. But even more importantly, we got such good service :) The man who served us accommodated any request we had (a bit of extra rice, sauces on the side, etc) and even offered water! I flew back into town on a late Thursday and was in quite a pickle of where I wanted to eat, and places were closing fast. I was feeling mediterranean, and this place came to the top of Uber Eats delivery, and boy did they come through! I got the gyro sandwhich, easily the best MVP of the meal. Generous amounts of gyro were slathered in that creamy delectable white sauce and garnished by tarty pickled vegtables. The gyro was very juicy and not charred or dry at all, some of the better gyro I've had in Austin. Really hit the spot after a long flight! I got a small order of falafel as well, and it was solid. A little on the dry side for me, however it was still tasty and a definite good compliment to the wrap. Easily one of the better gyro places I've been to in Austin, and definitely something everyone should try out. If I'm feeling especially gluttenous I'll get the gyro plate next time! read more

The hunt is over, finally found the best halal food in Austin. The chicken and gyro here is outstanding. Delicious, piping hot cooked to order, and just the perfect amount of hot sauce white sauce ratio. The side salad is nothing special but still pairs well with the basmati, meat and sauce. The guys working the truck were really nice, portion size was perfect and it wasn't expensive at all. Yes it's on a pretty sketchy corner and there's little room to sit and eat but the food makes up for all of it several times over. Gurus could make a run at best food truck in town period. read more

This is pretty much the best gyros, shwarma, and falafel in Austin. Its an unassuming location (next to a gas station in their parking lot), however that area gets a ton of traffic. Also, that neighborhood is blowing up with new things all the time. The food is insane good, comes out fast and the guys that run the trailer are perfectly friendly! I would usually blast by a food trailer that is bright yellow with neon flashing LED's but it's just weird enough to fit into 78704. It's also a good amount of food for the price. I'm always skeptical about portion size out of food trailers because it usually goes something like this; One sandwich and a mexican coke..."That will be $25 dollars sir" Not the case here. Halal gurus is one of my go to's on ubereats or door dash. Their chicken shawarma and gyro meat is delicious, their rice and pitas are good and their red sauce is addictive. The over rice plates are enough for a couple of meals for me as well, which makes their prices insanely reasonable - even with the food delivery fees I'm paying. They give you a crap ton of food for around 11 dollars! And it tastes amazing too! Filled with flavor, the rice over chicken meal comes with a small side salad and lots of meat for meat lovers out there. Though I usually don't like a lot of meat in my food, I feel like they put enough veggies in it to sate my qualms for there being too much meat. You can marinate your chicken or beef there as well, but it takes about 10 minutes so if you plan on doing that definitely call your order in in advance. Even during the busy 6th street hours this place wasn't busy the 3 times I've came here, so hit this place up and give them the business they deserve. Solid gyros and shawarma combos although it is located in a very sketchy gas station. There are homeless people around the whole area so be sure to lock up your belongings before ordering. I think the food is pretty good and on par with the other offerings around the area (i.e. halal bros etc.). The main benefit is the pricing is a little bit lower since it is a newer entry to the market. So, if you are looking for a deal then this might just be you place. I had the sandwich combo which satisfied my late night hunger needs on a weekday for $7. It's hard to beat the quality and satisfaction level so I can see this place doing well in the future, especially with a dedicated lunch crowd. read more
