GEDE KJCHBJHJ HTDKHGV....... Oops, forgot to wear my glasses, I guess after a month I'm still getting used to this. I was a tough sad that after 28 years I came to the realization that I'm getting older and my frequent migraines were caused by eye strain and that I would need eye glasses :( There are many boutique eye glass vendors but on this occasion I wanted to go somewhere with a trusted name in the industry (and who wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg for an exam and if needed glasses). I ventured to the Aurora location and made an appointment to have my eyes examined the very next day and when I arrived I was examined by Dr. V Gupta. He was totally professional and efficient, and explained every step of the process so I was comfortable. The verdict came down that I required corrective lenses for distance, night time driving and when working in front of a screen (ah yes...I tend to do that last one a bit being an employee of an internet/social media company). The next step in the process was choosing my "new look" and Ryan the sales guy in the show room was patient and helpful. Taking me through all my options and understanding my slight bit of self consciousness. Prices were fair and I ended up going with a pair of rectangle thick frame Ray bans with Nikon lenses (apparently a superior lens). I was assured that I'd have my glasses within a week (5 days to be specific) however it took nearly 10 days, so for this reason and this reason alone, they lose the extra star. Perhaps it was an issue where the glasses were being made but the extra time without my glasses was not anticipated and frustrating. All in all a great experience and I love my new glasses. As a customer on time for an appointment shouldn't have to wait for the doc who STILL ISNT EVEN IN THE BUILDING!!! set your alarm clock earlier and plan ahead for the traffic since you were late the first time. I went to their flagship store at Sherway Gdns to get a new prescription as I had recently had cataracts removed. Their optician gave me a prescription for computer glasses at 100cm and 200cm. Turns out Hakim could not produce these as one lens and wanted $500 x 2 (1 at 100 and 1 at 200cm) plus frames! I passed as I knew that Zeiss could produce the desired optics in one lens. So I went to my local and ordered there. Turned out that though the lens was clear at all distance TEXt was off slightly and not aligned. I contacted Hakim to speak to the optician who gave me my prescription to double check it. No one returned my call. I sent an email explaining the problem. No response. Now I will need to go to a third optician to double check this prescription in case it is wrong or at least have a reason to go back to Zeiss to see if the mistake was theirs. Hakim is un-cooperative and evades legitimate customer queries. Not interested in helping unless it lines their pockets. read more

I bought 2 pairs of glasses for my 12 year old daughter at this location, the one pair she always wears the frames themselves weren't the best and the arm kept breaking, the staff replaced them with no questions asked twice, the lady suggested the frames might be breaking from using one hand to put them on and take off (too much pressure), so I'm going to test that theory. But that being said, they are friendly and willing to work with you, I have to say I'm impressed with their customer service. At any time they could have said "no" to me and turn me away. read more
