My family and I have been customers of Haisch's for at least 20 years. There's no bakery that compares. The dense chocolate mousse cake is phenomenal! Everything is totally worth the price, and I will admit the staff are not overly friendly but it's a busy shop so if you need some time to look around just say so and allow them to take care of someone who is ready. read more

Found this bakery through yelp, got a pineapple turnover, and a vanilla butter cream cake (didn't taste so good), extremely sweet bakery.

Was a regular customer about 20 years ago. I stopped getting my sweets back then. I gave them another chance this year(2017). Still a disappointment. Here is the problem. Haisch uses much too much sugar(not sure if real sugar) in all of their sweets...Buttercream filling... too,too sweet. Carrot cake.... less cake and lots of filling...This is with many of their items.. You don't taste the cake only the sugar....I complained once to the manager, she told me that's how her customers like it! Oh well. I'm finish!!!! They used to be very good. Cupcakes are really good, and their buttercream frosting are delicious - I went there for the first time looking for cupcakes for my Baby-Q. The owner was very nice and took her time to understand what I was looking for. She suggested me to get a cake made out of cupcakes with one icing covering it all - making it look as one regular cake. I had never seen that before, but she was so confident that it would both attend my need and look great that I trusted her. The result was really great. We were at Watchung Square Mall and I looked in yelp for local bakeries. I am always on the lookout for a new place, and I always search yelp for local places when I am out and about. This place was great. I had an apple dumpling that tasted like it came from the Amish country. The red velvet cheesecake was ridiculously large and rich. I could only manage 3 bites. We also had a custard tart that was good. Our daughter got a sponge bob cookie but I knew that was going to be gross- things like that always are and I don't think it was made at the bakery. I am totally going come back because they were out of the pretzels that other people had raved about and that is the whole reason why I went in the first place. Excellent spot. I will be returning the next time I am anywhere close by. I may even come here especially for a cake for an event- they looked really good!!!! read more

We used to get our breads, cakes, and sometimes pastries here all the time. The cakes used to be too sweet for me, BUT now it's signficantly less sweet and just right. We usually get the premade cakes with the fruit filling in the middle for birthdays. Delicious. The french baguettes weren't too dense, which is good in my opinion. As for the pastry, my mom and I especially love getting the one that looks like a shell.. I unfortunately don't remember the name... I'll take a picture next time. So good. Went here for Donuts because Plainfield donut shop was closed on Sunday's and I promised my dad who was staying with us an old fashioned donut. Well, he got one! The had the yummy cakey donuts with the crispy outside and soft cakey middle. They had cinnamon cake donuts and glazed donuts like a crueller. All of them amazing! The chocolate donut with coconut was my favorite. I did not try the Boston Creme or Jelly because they are not what I'm into, but they looked wonderful. You will not be disapointed. read more

Yea, this is an awesome bakery. They have homemade donuts, and even though they aren't like west coast donuts, they are loads better than dunkin or entenmann's. They have a lot of assorted cookies and breakfast pastries, but I like that they sell slices of lot of different types of cakes. I went with the chocolate cheesecake, which wasn't my favorite, but still pretty good. Can't wait to go back and try more. read more

If I could give Haisch more than five stars I would. I called a few bakeries to price and get ideas for cakes for my moms retirement party. Once I spoke to the owner I was sold. The Passion and pride she had for her bakery was evident. She explained the process, what the bakers did and the freshness of the items sold..she also took the time to tell me the types of frostings/icing and how they paired best. I ended up ordering the yellow cake with fresh strawberries and bananas, vanilla custard with whip cream topping. I also ordered a chocolate cake with a chocolate butter cream filling and fudge icing. Both were outstanding! Absolutely Fresh, not too sweet as some buttercreams can be..fruit extremely fresh..whip cream so light and airy, cake textures amazing...guests all wanted to know where I got the cakes from...and there were no left overs by the party's end. Overall I highly recommend, the cakes were outstanding, the customer services outstanding and the price reasonable! I had to travel a bit to get there, but I will only come to them for my baked goods moving forward. P.S. try the rugelach...omg. Pumpkin loaf was also yummy!!!! Trudy has horrible customer service skills and talks over the customer. If a customer is telling you that there are issues with the quality of the product I bought, i.e. dryness, rotten bananas, you should either replace the cake or offer a refund. Instead Trudy indicated that she will not be selling me any cakes in the future - well thank you for doing me a favor. I have been a customer for over 20 years but given this poor experience, I don't think I will be coming back anymore. read more

Located in the Quick Check strip mall. Excellent cakes and pastries. You will always wait in line at this place. This place is a little on the pricey side but the food is worth it. The only down side are the employees who seem more interested in getting your order into a box to get you out of the store quicker than to help you make a selection. Very few people know what is in the items which could pose a problem for people with allergies. read more

Pineapple upside down cake personal size. OH MY GOSH!! I stop by here infrequently, but I try to make it to get my fix. If I remember correctly they only make these once or twice a week and they go pretty quickly. They are baked perfectly to where the sugar is just barely crystallizing around the pineapple.... WOW! Haisch's Bakery is a frequent stop for me when I'm in Central Jersey. They have a huge selection of pastries and cookies. I'm more fond of their pastries such as their nut bar and italian clamshells. They are a little pricey for baked goods and when they are busy it gets confusing as to who is next so you can end up being there a while. read more
