The couple I found were going to charge me up the wazzoo just to braid my hair. Then I found Alkali Salon who put me in touch with one of their stylists, Dania. Dania was responsive & was able to provide a great quote. I was able to book with her & so glad I did because she did an EXCELLENT job! The photo I'm posting speaks for itself. The braid hasn't moved and it's been a couple days now. Keep in mind she did all this in like 20 mins? I was basically in and out with a hairstyle that lasted beautifully for the wedding. She was a great, personable stylist who I would recommend and see again for another cute braid!!

I contacted Lux Series for on-location bridal services because I wanted a blowout for my wedding. I…read morewas told to contact Ellie through social media or email, and explained that I had already done both and had been waiting nearly three weeks for a response. I was assured someone would reach out, and eventually Ellie did. Unfortunately, the communication continued to be extremely slow. I received partial information, followed up with questions, and waited another week for a response. I then asked for the cost of an additional artist because I am on a tight timeline the morning of my wedding. Nearly another week has passed, and I still have not received an answer. At this point, the issue is the lack of professionalism and communication. Bridal services are time-sensitive, and it should not take weeks to answer basic questions about pricing and availability. If they were unavailable or simply not interested in providing the service, I would have completely understood. Instead, this has been dragged out for almost six weeks with long gaps in communication and no clear answer, leaving me unable to confidently move forward despite being "the best in the industry". I suppose for normal day to day appointments it's okay to come here but if you have anything important - go somewhere else

I booked with Stephanie Gonzales for a tone/gloss appointment, and unfortunately, my experience was…read moreextremely disappointing due to poor customer service. My appointment was canceled the day of, yet I received no text, email, or notification informing me. In fact, at 7:52 a.m. the morning of my appointment (scheduled for 11:15 a.m.), her team texted me confirming details and letting me know what to expect during the service. So, when I arrived and was told my appointment had been canceled due to "miscommunication," I was very confused. What made this even more frustrating was that nowhere on the booking site or Instagram page does it clearly state that new clients are required to complete an email consultation prior to their appointment. After explaining the cancellation, Stephanie quickly asked me to put my hair down so she could assess it and ultimately said she could still fit me in for the service I booked but that I would have to wait because she was busy. During the time slot I had originally booked, she was servicing another client. The most disappointing part of the experience was how cold and unwelcoming the interaction felt. My hair wash was extremely rough, rough enough that the shampoo bottle was even dropped during the service and the entire appointment felt rushed. There was no effort made to make me feel valued as a client. As someone who also works in the beauty industry, I truly believe client experience and genuinely making an effort to talk to your client is important and part of the job. At one point, while going back and forth between me and the other client, she told the other client, "10 more minutes and I'll be all yours," which only reinforced how much of an inconvenience I felt like during my appointment. To be clear, this review is solely based on the customer service experience, not the quality of her work. I'm not seeking a refund. I'm only sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision and in hopes that this feedback is taken seriously by the salon as it seems I'm not the only one with this experience.

I had my hair cut on Saturday by Nora, it was just us two that day. I'm so appreciative of her kindness because I got super lost trying to find the salon, my gps took me on a wild detour. This salon is very close to John Wayne airport & is located in a plaza with a bunch of suites with multiple other small businesses so it can get a little confusing finding your way around. I would say give yourself an extra 10 minutes to get here if it's your 1st time. As for Nora, she was super sweet, totally listened to what I wanted. She made sure prior to cutting that I was comfortable with the length & helped clear any hesitations I had. I felt comfortable trusting her professionalism, craft & recommendations. Her excitement & passion made me excited, I loved her energy. She was so fast & not in a way that felt rushed, but because she's just that talented. My hair cut came out to about $75 not including tip. I was able to use Zelle & tipped in cash. Normally there's an extra charge for a blow out, but I was ok without. She did a light drying of my hair so I didn't walk out with completely wet hair, which I appreciated, allowing my hair to show its natural texture with the haircut. If you have a specific color in mind, he can work with you to achieve it but if you're also open to suggestions, he can create many different color combinations. You can tell how someone would treat your hair based on their workspace and Andy is all about quality! I very much enjoy going to him for my hair journey, not only because he does a superb job, but also because he is very down-to-earth and cares about your hair's health.

I visited this salon about a week ago for a straight bob haircut. My hair is slightly wavy. When I…read moreleft the salon, I did not notice anything wrong with the haircut because my hair had been styled with a round brush. The entire service at David salon--including washing, cutting, drying, and paying at the reception--took only about 20 minutes. I was surprised by how quickly everything was done and, looking back, I wish I had paid more attention to how rushed the service seemed. I paid $85 including tip for the haircut. Based on my experience, I would recommend asking about the stylist's level of experience and exactly what is included in the service before booking. At one point, the hairstylist called over someone more experienced to show them her work and mentioned that I was "not her model." That comment made me uncomfortable, and I wish I had spoken up at the time. However, few days ago, I have my hair straightened with a flat iron. That was when it became obvious that my haircut was uneven. My advice is to choose your hairstylist carefully, especially if you want a precise bob or another haircut where the lines need to be very even. I would also suggest discussing your expectations and budget beforehand so you know what level of service you are receiving. It looks like decent haircut service at this place starts at around $120. Upd: you wrote "We would have appreciated the opportunity to address your concerns directly when you first noticed the issue." The unevenness only became visible a few days later when my hair was flat-ironed. I didn't notice it at the salon because it had been styled with a round brush. So there was no opportunity for me to raise it "when I first noticed" during the appointment - the issue wasn't apparent until later. That's why I left the review after the fact.

The vibe is relaxed and low pressure. They have great judgment. I have a cool complexion, and he astutely went with a cooler, ashier toner that suited my complexion, age, and facial proportions. A couple of weeks later, the color has settled a little lighter than I expected, but it still looks nice overall. I'm happy with how it turned out. The prices are on the high side if you compare it to Daniel Michael in San Juan but not outrageous for the Irvine area. The quality and experience justifies it for most I think.
