Well... I am not sure how to review... Definitely skillful owner. Knows her stuff. But... the experience was somewhat weird. She was pushing to sell packages of certain number of blowdry for certain $$, and that number for this much, after a while I lost count and needed a calculator. Oh wait, she did that too, calculated the per blow dry... I understand the sell pitch, but she should wait till the customer gets a service, and then maybe mention it. Not as soon as they walk in the door... Then, it was so awkward when she was reprimanding the coffee boy (sorry mid-aged man) for not doing something right... plus she smelled like cigarettes. Really, I am not against smokers, but in the beauty industry, it will be great if she brushed after a smoke. I was hoping to like the place more, since it is next to Starbucks... but ehhh... All those negative reviews about not being happy with their prices are nothing but RIDICULOUS!!! Who goes into a store and doesnt look at prices or ask how much certain things cost? Only people that have money and money is no object!! So it's your responsibility as the customer to ask how much your hair cut, color, extensions, blow dry, etc. is gonna cost BEFORE you get it done NOT after they've spent hours making you look beautiful!!! And if you still don't think you look beautiful then maybe you should consider plastic surgery. Just sayin!!! I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair because I know that I can't find anyone with her level professionalism, education, experience & quality work. I've been going to Rumina for many years - she does great work! She is a master when it comes to color and she really listens when you ask for a certain style. I always leave feeling hot, which is not typical for this frazzled mom of 2 boys. I've also had Ano cut and color my hair and was thoroughly pleased with the results. Hi Ana, Thank you for your reply I am sad to say that YES I did get the location correct. Although I do not think Yelp is a forum for debate and I do not post reviews just to have to defend them later I do feel you have contrived to negate my review and feel your reply needs answering. Yes, I did tell the owner I wasn't happy. There was no time for the hairstyle to be corrected because the stylist had already run an hour and a half late than her estimate. I was not able to attend my fiance's birthday dinner due to this delay. It would be ridiculous for me to wait to have it fixed. In regards to the price $200.00 was the price I was charged, plain and simple. Trust me I thought it was $200 too much but having no time to argue I paid it. None of that was tip. I have never not tipped before but I received no service at Hairspray that warranted a bonus thank you. I am sorry to post such a horrible review but I do not want any girl to go through what I went through. And FYI if your blatant misspelling of my name is any indication of your attention to detail well then, I guess that just gives more weight to my review. I hope your salon improves. Im very disappointed. I just move to LA and since i don't know any salon i got a groupon to try. By location i found hairspray salon i got groupon for haircut and partial highlights. I gotta there and the owner Anna ( super rude btw) gave me the eyes bcs was groupon. I asked if she could do more to ends of my hair only the highlights, since i have natural color i didn't wanna change too much. She said: if u want different service, why did u get a groupon??? I was asking only, so i said do whatever. She also add, will be extra $20, bcs ur hair is long ( which was nothing saying on my groupon) After that she was fighting with her daughter, on her language loud, it caused a very uncomfortable atmosphere. In my mind i was: what the heck? that is so not professional. Result: she was bragging about herself and my hair looks awful ! And she cut too much. If you guys don't wanna new customer, or don't wanna people to go back, keep doing like that, is working! Also groupon is to get new people, u should appreciate it. Otherwise do not sell groupon. I purchased a groupon for haircut, blowdry, and partial highlights. This was the salon that I always go to so I was excited to find that they had a groupon. When I called to make an appointment I spoke with Anna, one of the owners. I told her that I am a pre- existing customer and that I had a groupon. The day before my appointment I called and spoke with her to confirm my appointment. My appointment was at 3:30 pm, at around 4 pm I was finally approached by the owner. She told me that my groupon couldn't be honored because I was a not a new customer. No where on my groupon did it say that I had to be a new customer, I pulled up my groupon and asked her to show me, her response was "it doesn't say it their but that is just how we do it". They should have honored what was written on their groupon , not just because that was what they were selling, but to value the customers that have been attending their salon for many years. I have been a customer here for over 5 yeasr and I am shocked at how they treated me. If they don't value their groupon customers, then they shouldnt sell groupons. I have been to this salon before and while a little overpriced they did an ok job for cut and blow out. I had no real complaints and therefore did not write a review. One thing that bothered me was the second time I returned for cut and blow out the secretary/assistant lady charged me more than when Ana charged me herself - made me feel like prices not consistent so I did not go back. I gave them a 2 because I recently had appointment for updo and was cancelled on the evening before. At least they called to cancel, but how am I supposed to get an updo appointment for Sunday morning, when it is saturday night? Truly they may have had some family emergency which required them to cancel, but I expect a return phone call of apology and or free blow dry or something because I am basically now SOL. read more

Oh My GOD...steer clear of this horrible salon! I had a hair emergency while I was in LA. So I called my best friend and asked her where she recomends and she said "Go to Hairspray". So I go, and the owner is there and she says she can correct my color and its going to cost about $250.00. I said fine. She got to work and the whole time all she was doing was talking about how great she is and how she's the best hair stylist ever. And I'm sitting there praying for her to do a good job. She kept insisting I get a Brazilian Blowout and that its only $350.00. I kept telling her "some other time". She is such an annoying lady. The final product was NOTHING worth what she charged me...$400.00!This woman is a con artist! I could have gone to Cristophe in Beverly Hills for that amount! After that fiasco, my best friend and all our friends stopped going there. By the way, a week later, I had my hair dyed dark brown by a real stylist in Encino...I should have done that from the beginning. I got a great Groupon haircut here from Ana (owner I believe). I really only care about a great cut....I live so very close it makes it even more convenient to go back a second time to try it out. I believe a haircut for short hair is $65; I don't know if prices here are consistent from the reviews below. Maybe pricing different for different clients? Scheduling was done through a man who answers the phone; some cancellations due to family engagements, but then I cancelled and rescheduled once too. When we finally got a date on the calendar it was a rainy day (figures), but I left very happy with my haircut and blowout. She definitely knows what she is doing with scissors and a blow dryer. I only took a star off because I smelled smoke in the salon and I'm very allergic to cigarette smoke; however for 45 minutes to an hour for a good haircut that will last a few months, it's worth it. The salon was quiet the day I went in, and I like that too....mid day on a weekday is good for me. I will go back again; Ana is very experienced and that matters most to me for a good haircut. read more
