Are you a nice, normal human who doesn't expect Beverly Hill's spa level services from your strip mall salon? Then, I will gladly recommend you book an appointment with Alana. I've seen her since 2019​. I have a lot of hair and get all over highlights a few times a year. From beginning to end, we're talking 6 hours in the chair. Not only do I leave with gorgeous color and soft, healthy hair, I drive home with a smile on my face. Alana is one of the kindest, most personable people I've ever met. My daughter goes to get her waist long hair conditioned and cut. My wife goes to her because Alana listens: She's very specific and gets exactly what she asks for. I, on the other hand, just tell her "go for it." She knows I like my hair long, but give her card blanche to layer and style. Her instincts are stellar. Finally, money. It's hard to beat HairMasters' prices. My roots would be 6" long if my only other options were local salons. PS - With her skills, I'm sure Alana could work in a fancy salon. I'm selfishly hoping she stays at HairMasters until I win the lottery and can set her up as my private stylist. LOL read more

Their signage says walk ins welcome. But they have a single working staff member, who requires 90 minutes between clients, so "welcome" is quite a stretch....... read more

I had an appointment late yesterday afternoon with Allie. I feel like a new woman today! Not only is she talented but she's personable and gave me everything I wanted in a cut in short order.I have found my Olympia person! And by the way their Covid protocols are perfect and I had no problem with the nominal fee they charge to keep us all safe. Good for them. This business 99% of the time will not answer the phone, will not return messages left so you can make an appt. Did get someone to answer my call last week, asked to make an appointment with person who has done my color and cuts, was told she was "out" didnt know when she would be in or her schedule, was told she could not look at her schedule, would have to get in touch with "roving general manager" and would call me back,.. THAT NEVER HAPPENED, I called again an hour later after I spoke with person on the phone, no answer so I left a message specifically for the person I spoke with to give me call back, so I could ask who else I could schedule with,.. that message was NEVER RETURNED. And the BS in the nauseating voicemail, of "you can book an appointment online, @opensalon.com. IS NOT AVAILABLE OR OPERATIONAL. THIS "SALON" has gone to crap since the buy oout from a California company. And to boot, there prices have skyrocketed through the roof,.. my last appointment (not with my regular person) tacked on every thing they could think of, and something that was not done, jacking the price up intentionally, to nickel and dime you any way they could! I decided it was time for some spring highlights and a haircut so I went to Hairmasters since it was on my drive home. I scheduled an appointment since they had been busy the week before. I walked in and got a half-head full of foils instead of just some highlights. Now my hair is half this weird blonde color (top half) and half my natural brown (bottom half). Yes, the blonde is kind of a strange color... it's like a gray-blonde. So now I feel like I look like an old woman trying to cover up her gray with some color, when I'm not. Then I got a haircut after she was done with the color. Well, my hair is naturally curly, and most stylists understand the concept of curls. I explained it nonetheless -- I wanted layers, but I wanted the shortest to frame my face. So, now my shortest layer frames my temples when it's not curling up all freakily. At least I found some bobby pins when I got home. I'm going to have to spend the next few months pinning my gross bang-type-nasty-weird things back in order to for them not to end their curl in the opposite direction of gravity. So, I spent much more than $100 and hate the way my hair looks and can't wait until next fall when the front part of my hair is grown out enough to actually frame my face. All-in-all, I can think of one friend who's ever gotten a worse haircut, but that's only because she looked like a penis when she came out of the salon. That wasn't here though. read more

Due to a recent (well, a short while back) disappointing experience, I can no longer recommend. Tried twice on same day to get a haircut and first time was told 1 hour wait... second time, 2 hours before closing, tried again with my two sons and was then told they could only do two of the three of us (I guess a hairstylist was about to leave for the night). 2 hours before closing and they could only fit in 2 people. So much for a 'walk in' place. That said, had the employee been apologetic, or heck, even somewhat nice, I probably would have just written it off as a bad day for them and tried again. But both times she was cold and rude. I'm now going elsewhere for haircuts, along with my kids (they lost a lot of $ and tips over time). I did roll with 2 stars here though as the haircuts were decent and there was one stylist who had always been pretty good in the past. read more

If I could give no stars I would. My husband has gone here a couple of times and every time the hair cut gets worse and worse. My husband is in the military, so he has to look sharp for any inspections or anything that comes up. The old lady that did my husbands hair COMPLETELY Butchered it. It looks awful. So now, we have to go and spend another 20 dollars for someone to fix it.. she didn't even know what half the things were that he asked for! How hard is it to do a #1 and a fade. I'm sorry but I don't think she needs to be doing hair. I'm completely disappointed in this place YET AGAIN. You have lost our business for good. read more

I went here the other day and got an appointment for highlights for that same day which was great. When I got there I only had to wait around 5 minutes until they called me. Sara did my hair and she is awesome! She gave me the prettiest highlights exactly as I wanted. The cost is very affordable in my opinion. I will definitely be going here in the future for all my hair needs! :) read more

Hi hairmasters, how are you? Me, not so good. Next time someone walks in, clearly on their lunch break, do me a favor and don't tell them theres one person ahead of them and it will maybe be 15 minutes. You may want to remember that that same person will be sitting there half an hour later as three people with appointments walk in and get their hair cuts first as you chat away with everyone like your long lost friends while a distinct lack of hair cutting is going on. I can't speak for the hair cutting here, because I had to leave and go back to work without getting to eat lunch! So thanks for that too! Id reccomend one of the other countless haircutting chains unless you enjoy sitting in waiting areas for indeterminate amounts of time. read more

I always get great service here. I have not been anywhere else In the last 6 years. If I don't have an appointment I try to go in early so that I can get in. I've never had a problem. I have enjoyed getting to know the staff over the years. It's good to see they have promoted managers from within when the previous manager moved to a bigger store. Of course it is always a good idea to build relationships with those who take care of your looks I'm a very busy person so being able to stop in when I finally have time in my schedule is great. I try to be smart in regards to the business's schedule as well. Thank you Hairmasters for keeping me from looking like a wolf. read more

Arrived at hair masters about 45 mins before closing. Normal place we go, was closed. One hair stylist available. Needed two cuts. She was very professional and very good advice, for our 10 year old and 17 year old. After tonight, will be making Hair Masters our new regular place. Ally understood in full, the concept of cutting long, naturally curly hair. And did an incredible job. She also did a wonderful job cutting long, fine, wavy hair. Very pleased with the results. Finally found a young lady who knows her stuff! Ashley is great at what she does. I needed grey root coverage and a subtle highlight, just got too dark. I also needed a thinning (the last local guy chopped my hair ridiculously!!!) and a inch and a half trim. Ashley took me right away, knew her stuff, had great fun conversation with her as well! I cannot stress how amazing she is. The price was on point as well. Also found it fantastic that Ashley and the other hairdresser on the floor knew almost everyone else who came in first names, they treated everyone so professionally but kindly!! I will be seeing her every 6 weeks from now on! read more

I took my son in for a haircut, and it was clear that the stylist did not enjoy her job, both because of her demeanor and the quality of his haircut. His sideburns are uneven and so is the back near his neck, and he has a tuft sticking up at the top. She did not talk with him but instead talked with other stylists. read more

I just had my hair cut at this location. The women were friendly but aside from that it was really quite awful. The place is FILTHY, hair everywhere on the floor, sitting at the station I could see hair literally piled up in the corners, on the counter and in the place where they store their brushes and tools. I doubt anyone has swept or vacuumed in years. There were gobs of hair in the sink. The woman who cut my hair seemed very careful which was nice but she didn't do anything with my hair on the sides and left it very uneven, even after I had asked for it to be evened up. She got hair in my eye, which wasn't very pleasant. To top it off she finished the cut and then didn't dry my hair or even offer to and acted like it was normal and okay to send a customer off with wet hair. So I just paid my bill and left and will never go back to this place. I'm giving one star because the woman was nice and friendly. It just isn't a very professional place. Even lower priced places can be clean and professional but this place definitely is not. read more
