Hairloom! Tucked into Manolo Grove in coconut grove, it's a small studio with that at home feel. With only 3 chairs for clients to have hair cut in, you feel safe and appropriately distanced. They are staying safe for covid and wearing masks and wiping down the chairs and everything in between clients. Carlos is INCREDIBLE. My highlights are absolutely flawless and the cut is to perfection. Appointment only and having a few hours for each appointment allows Carlos to focus on just you for as much time as needed until you're satisfied. I used the Groupon which was a great deal! Downsides: They don't accept credit card. Only Venmo and Zelle Parking: with construction and everything in coconut grove, it is really difficult to find parking. The closest VISIBLE garage Mayfair Garage is $18 for three hours and I went on a week day. It is REALLY hard to find. Better to google Venues in the Grove or the Blonde Tulip, which are across the street from the plaza in which Manolo is located. You go to the bottom floor, and it's in Suite 10. And a tip is that the closest garage is actually next to the Blonde Tulip (unsure the price) Because of the difficulty finding the place and parking, I give it 4 stars. But if it were just about the service and hairstylist, it would get a full five. Will definitely be returning to Carlos!! read more

If I could rate this establishment 0 I would . I called them after receiving a Groupon for haircut,highlights, and a conditioning treatment . For starters the man I spoke with on the phone who only works Thursday, fridays , abs weekends was a complete nut job. He was combating me and telling me what was put in my own hair without knowing me or seeing my hair , along with trying to belittle me over the phone . I let that go as I have dealt with cocky stylists before . But the icing on the cake was sending him the pictures of my hair for him to tell me if he wants to charge me more aside the Groupon because supposedly he has requirements your hair has to follow which are not listed on the Groupon he's advertising. And he replied with nothing but beautiful hair , and I asked him ??? So how much is for the extra regrowth if mine is too much , and when's your soonest appointment . No answer. I double back again next day , abs he says to send pictures , like we have already done this now for 3 times in the week. And today he decided to let off his arrogant side with response to me telling him I already sent u pictures of my hair and I already purchased the Groupon and I've been trying to book an appointment with you for the past week. I didn't have to set foot int his establishment to say that I wouldn't trust this man with my hair , and I already know if I did go I would be in for a horrible experience . read more

So far these are the best highlights I've ever received in Miami; multi dimensional, natural looking, and so far long lasting as well! I was in Miami for my birthday weekend, and I was looking up Groupon deals to touch up my roots and get a haircut in time for my birthday festivities. His small hair salon is tucked away in Coconut Grove, on the second floor of the plaza that juts into the right side of Coco Walk. Parking is plentiful and cheap. He did a quick consultation, and left me with beautiful, bouncy, and multi toned highlights and a layered cut that suited my face shape and complexion. He additionally also offered to text me the exact dye solution so I could recreate the colors back in Boston where I reside full time. So helpful! I referred him to another friend of mine who was also happy with her one process color. I take off a star because of scheduling; because the salon seems to be busy as well as possibly understaffed, he was an hour late for my appointment working between 1 to 2 clients. I would recommend making an appointment as early (or as late) as possible so you are not waiting before anyone else *if* you are on a tight schedule. **Also be wary of the fine print of Groupon deals; he did charge me extra for multi dimensional foils, use of toner, and long hair past the shoulders. If you cannot pay more than the face value of the voucher, look elsewhere if you are on a budget. read more

I did a Japanese straightener and despite how long the process takes he made sure to update and explain the process before beginning and he had a lot of patience to this treatment. I made an appointment to meet Carlos and knew immediately he was the perfect person to perform the hair extensions. He knew exactly what I needed, ordered the hair and the next day I came in. I'm new to Yelp and just cane down to Miami for the winter. I was in desperate need of a great cut and highlights and after reading many great reviews decided to see Carlos and let him work his magic. I have naturally very curly hair and my flat iron is my best friend. I've had all types of straightening treatments done including the japanese straightening but never really liked the outcome because my hair wouldn't hold a curl if I wanted to wear it curly. Carlos used an anti-curl treatment on my hair and it was a miracle worker!! I have thick hair and it cut my blow dry time down to 15 minutes and made flat ironing it a breeze without drying it out. Carlos gave me a fabulous haircut and recommended that I keep my hair in long layers to make it easier to manage. He is the ONLY person I will let touch my hair from now on! Carlos impeccably matched my previous high-lights, did a great job with re-freshing my cut, and recommended ways I could better manage my dry hair at home. My bf had bought a $60 groupon for haircut and highlights but I don't get highlights so I wanted to substitute it for cellophane and Carlos was nice enough to do that for me. When I rescheduled my appt. I told the girl who answered (Maddy) that Carlos had already granted me the substitution but she insisted that it could not be substituted. She was very rude and not willing to accommodate me. The day of my appt. I called to say that I was running a few minutes late and the same girl (Maddy) told me I needed to hurry up because there were people after me already waiting and I needed to get there "now." Needless to say, I canceled my appt and had my bf call AMEX and deliver him a refund for the groupon. Clearly, this salon lacks professionalism and it's so unfortunate that I received such bad service because I really was looking forward to getting my haircut there. Will not go there again. read more
