A Heartfelt Thank You to Rachel…read more After my mom's brain surgery, she was on the fence about getting a wig. I gently encouraged her to at least schedule a consultation--and I'm so glad she did. From the moment we walked into Rachel's salon, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Even while finishing up with another client, Rachel greeted us right away and made us feel comfortable. The entire experience was incredible. Rachel took the time to explain the different types of wigs in detail and had my mom try on all three types so she could really feel the differences. She was incredibly patient, offering her professional opinion while always keeping my mom's preferences front and center. What could have been a difficult and emotional process turned into something truly positive--dare I say, even fun--thanks to Rachel's kindness, expertise, and genuine care. I would highly recommend Rachel to anyone going through a similar journey. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Rachel!

Absolutely no change and now I have even less hair on top. I should have gone to Turkey where they do everything manually for less than $10,000, including airfare and hotel. If you're thinking of doing it here, DON'T.

This is a long overdue review…read more. I had my hair transplant done back in 2021 with Dr. Canales. I noticed several bumps on head after the healing. I had brought up my concerns during the first 6 and 12 month appointments with Dr. Canales and was told the bumps are normal and will go away. I was giving a prescription of retinol which I used for a over about 2 months but the bumps never went away. When the sun/light hits my scalp, it looks similar to the hair on a Barbie doll, like I had hair plugs done with noticeable holes. After doing my research and taking to people, I found this is not normal at all and it's called FUE Cobblestones. I attempted to schedule another appointment to see Dr. Canales after a year and half of surgery to have him look at his work and address my concerns again but I was told I would have pay $200 to see him. I wasn't going to pay someone to tell me the bumps are normal. In the end, I am happy to have some hair back on my scalp but the bumps are noticeable which defeats the purpose. I can no longer shave my head because of how noticeable bumps are and how they pop out. I don't have anything negative to say about Dr. Canales, I think he's a great guy and his hair placements are on point. But somewhere along the surgery, someone or something was done incorrectly and no one wants to own up to it which is bad business in book. I didn't paid good money to have someone slam the door in my face. I am sure if the tables were turn and he was in my position, he would not be happy with the end results. I can't tell you where to have your hair transplant done at, but please do your homework before shelling out your hard earned money. Nothing is worst than having to pay for something that went wrong and ending up having to pay more money to have someone else to fix someone else's mistakes. Please see photos

I really appreciated how thoughtfully she evaluated my facial structure and shaped my brows in a way that looked natural and flattering. I also recently had my follow-up appointment and had a different vision for how I wanted my eyebrows shaped--Chakay listened, shared her professional perspective, and we met in the middle. I'm not one to argue with the expert since she clearly has the experience and knowledge, but I truly appreciated her willingness to listen and collaborate. Overall, my experience at Bar Aesthetics has been excellent, and I recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, timely, and caring experience.

I want to be fair and detailed in this review, because my experience changed dramatically between…read moremy first and second appointments with Chakay Smith, owner and artist of The Aesthetic Bar. During my first appointment, Chakay Smith was warm, professional, and communicative. The mapping and shape of my eyebrows were done well, and I was included throughout the process. I was shown the design, asked for my input, and felt comfortable and heard. However, once the procedure was complete and I saw the final result, I was immediately alarmed by the color choice, which did not match what I requested or the reference photos we discussed. When I expressed concern, I was reassured that it could be corrected after the six-week healing period and was told, "It's better to correct something that's too light than too dark." While my trust was shaken at that moment, I gave the benefit of the doubt that the correction would be handled willingly. Later, I was informed that a $100 correction fee would apply. I explained that this was not a change of preference, but a color error. I was told customer satisfaction was the goal, and the fee was reluctantly waived. From the moment I arrived for the second appointment, Chakay Smith's demeanor was noticeably different. There was no warm greeting as before. Instead of being taken to the treatment room, I was instructed to remain in the front lobby while numbing cream was applied and told to wait 15 minutes. I waited closer to 30 minutes, while she disappeared into the back. When I was finally taken to the room, communication was minimal. There was no conversation, no check-ins, no mirror offered, and no engagement -- a stark contrast to the first appointment. She left the room multiple times during the procedure, and the overall atmosphere felt tense and unwelcoming. I felt as though my presence was unwanted. When the correction was finished, I was relieved and satisfied with the final color. Wanting to end on a positive note, I asked if I could hug her, and she agreed. Immediately afterward, she sternly pointed at me and the table and stated that any future corrections would require payment for her time, with no exceptions. That moment confirmed what I had felt throughout the entire second appointment -- a complete shift in demeanor from warm and professional to cold and punitive. This review is not about perfection or even the final result, which I am satisfied with. It is about how a client is treated when an issue arises, especially in a service where trust, comfort, and professionalism are critical. The contrast between the two appointments was significant and unsettling. I waited before posting publicly to allow the opportunity for this to be handled privately. I hope future clients receive not only skilled work, but also consistent professionalism and respectful treatment when corrections are needed.
