Well ten foils only I noticed the toner she was mixing was very orange but she told me oh no they all look this way. Let me tell you... this is my twentieth highlight I've never seen anyone do half your hair length in ten foils. It looked orange when wet and orange when dry. I pointed it out and she tells me no no it's me.. it's not orange. I understand mistakes happen but to make the client feel stupid is unacceptable! Thank god I found Megan! I've never had more compliments on a haircut than I did after visiting Megan. People who I hadn't seen in months told me that I finally found a haircut that suits me and those who I see everyday continue to compliment the way the cut looked even after I washed out the beautiful styling. I've now seen Megan three times for a haircut and even more often for blow-outs and styling. My hair is thick and wavy making it pretty unmanageable. Most of the time I don't do anything to style it and then I regret that when I see pictures of myself. Speaking of wars, they are best remembered not by their individual statistics, nor minuscule facts, but for the absolute ingenuity and brilliance of their weapon makers and tacticians. This quote reminds me of my experience at Hair Lounge, and more specifically it's how I feel about my haircuts done by Taylor, a stylist at the salon. Her work is so brilliant, so bitingly effective at making me look my absolute best, and so completely close to the perfect ideal, that it sometimes pains me to look in the mirror after she's finished, due exclusively to the powerful golden aura that radiates off my person every time she gets near me with a pair of scissors. Similar to war, her work is not remembered best as a series of individual cuts, but the total collective brilliance of her decisions as a stylist. Needless to say, I can't recommend her enough. Scissors dance with quick precision, the likes of which I've not equaled by anyone with the exception of Edward Scissorhands during his topiary phase, and as locks of hair fall to the ground, I feel a phoenix-like rise to the aesthetic ideal. There is parking behind the building and on the street. I simply get a mens haircut and Cindy has been cutting my hair for years, so I get the same consistent excellent service and experience all of the time. I can not speak to the other services there. I came in on a Groupon for a cut and color. First of all, I don't like hair appointments, but I had a personal loss this week and I REALLY didn't want to come in but I needed a hair trim and a color. Courtney agreed that we should not put layers in my hair because my hair is too thin. We agreed on a straight across trim with some face framing layers. The color came out fine, but unfortunately Courtney did not ask me how short I wanted my face layers - I ended up asking her how short she had just got them after she did it because I panicked seeing that they looked short. Unfortunately these layers are too short for my naturally wavy hair and they flip up and poke me in the eyes- not only that but those few face framing layers look like a shelf. I saw that right away and was not happy. The second thing I noticed was when I went to style my hair - it's all different lengths!!! WTF!!?? I called and thought I was speaking to a receptionist about my uneven hair length but it turns out I was talking to Courtney! (AWKWARD!) She said to come in so she could look at it because she was certain she cut it all one length so she wanted to see what I was referring to. (As if I was somehow mistaken.) The very last thing I want to do is come in to have the person fix my hair that messed it up! And it's not like I was a regular client of hers- it was my first time and I never want to see her again I'm so upset about my hair. This place should really have a receptionist answer the phone to field these kinds of calls and they should offer another stylist unless someone is a regular. I really enjoyed my visit to Hair Lounge at Cedros last week. They are located in the beginning of Cedros Designer District, with lots of art galleries, antique furniture shops and urban boutiques. She has recently moved here from Chicago. She is amazing! Very professional and highly knowledgeable about all the latest hair techniques, styles, color treatments. The worst hair cut I've ever had! Courtney butchered my hair. I asked for long layers and it turned out so uneven on each side. Each layer even the bottom longer layers are at least an inch longer on one side! I didn't notice till I got home and took a closer look. How can a "professional" not have seen this. Thanks for screwing up my hair! In Response to Courtney's Reply: My "extremely damaged" hair was never uneven before you cut it, I would have noticed this from styling my hair daily. Yes, you mentioned it but only AFTER you started cutting it. And by the way I never told you an inch. I remember thinking that it was odd that you didn't ask how much I wanted taken off. I told you to trim my LONG LAYERS. I walked out of there with my hair cut into a 'V'. I had to go to professional to have it fixed. The Groupon was an oversight on my part but if it was an issue you should have let me know. My cut still cost me almost $50 after tip, I would have paid the difference. I thought I would give you a second chance and not hold it against you that the first time you colored my hair you didn't leave it in long enough leaving gray hair still showing. Let's not even bring up how you "styled" my hair. I asked for beach wavy curls and walked out with the dumbest looking ringlets. One last thing, i tried to get ahold of you three times before having to call your salon. It was only after that you finally returned a phone call.
