So I drove here from Palm Coast because I had a Groupon for a wash with deep condition, cut and style. I got what I paid for, but it was one of the most awkward salon experiences of my life. They were polite and friendly when I walked in. One stylist working and what appeared to be two of us customers scheduled overlapping each other. One got her hair washed and waited in the sink leaned back while I got my hair washed and waited in the sink leaned back. This didn't bother me, because it was while my deep condition was doing its thing for 10 minutes. But then other customer got put under an old fashioned hair dryer cap, while my hair got cut. The stylist was rough with the comb- she combed over my ears and dug at my scalp with it like she was mad! I was actually tingly and red. But sat there without complaining, so I again can't blame her since I didn't give her an opportunity to fix it. There was zero conversation. The receptionist, the floor sweeper lady (who looked so distinguished and proper that she might have been the owner), the two customers, the stylist- nobody talked. Bizarre. After my hair cut, I got out under the hair drying cap and the other customer got her hair dryer with a blow dryer. When it was dry, the stylist asked the receptionist to come curl that girl's hair so the stylist could dry mine with a blow dryer. (To be fair, the receptionist might've been an intern of some type, I don't know.) This also hurt because she was pulling the round brush so hard. I can tolerate a lot of pain, but I guess my face couldn't lie because in between smoking her vape cig, the distinguished floor sweeper signaled to the stylist she was hurting me. Ugh. Meanwhile, my bangs dried ugly under the drying cap because my cowlick never got combed out... Seriously. This might explain why it's dead on a Saturday afternoon. If you need a hair cut, you'll get one if you go here, and I'm sure it'll be a fine one. But don't expect a "spa" experience. And take some Tylenol first, you might walk out with a headache like I did. Update: Owner contacted me offering a visit back with her personally taking care of me- on the house, so I'm upgrading my review to 4-stars. I declined her offer, but found it to be the perfect response of someone who cares about the success and reputation of her business. read more

Avoid this salon at all costs. Goddess Salon is a complete rip-off and extremely unprofessional. I visited in October and paid $40 for a blowout with curls. When I returned recently for the exact same service, they charged me $80-- a 100% increase from the original price. When I questioned it, I was told the new price starts at $55 and still insisted I pay $80. The owner refused to come out and speak with me, instead sending the receptionist. To make it worse, they even threatened to call the police if I didn't pay the full amount. That's not how you treat paying customers. Some people have no business owning a salon if they can't deal with customers the right way--with honesty, professionalism, and respect. If prices have increased, they should clearly inform clients before the service is done and confirm if that's acceptable--instead of trying to trick people into paying more and using intimidation tactics. I've had blowouts all over the U.S., and I've never experienced anything like this. It was completely unacceptable. I will never return. If you value fair pricing and decent customer service, stay far away from this place. read more

I had a consult with Goddess because after having long black hair most of my life, I was now battling grays and wanted something new without cutting my very long hair off. She was so patient with me and answered all my questions and understood how scared I was for this extreme change--gray highlights. If you want HORRIBLE service as a loyal customer of the salon and want to be ignored when asking for a fix or refund, this is the place for you. Horrible, unprofessional, amateur and overpriced service right before my birthday. I have been going to see Goddess for several months as a regular client. Until 3 days ago she cancelled my highlight appointment less than an hour before it started. She did refer me to another girl in the salon, Haven, who she said would be able to do my hair similarly. I trusted Goddess and did not think she'd have any inexperienced stylists in her salon. Unfortunately, it was not disclosed to me that this girl was straight out of beauty school and was not at all qualified to do my hair the way I was used to. She took over an hour to put 15 ish foils in my hair (maybe 6 of them were bleach) and periodically walked away from me to tend to less important tasks such as changing the song on the stereo. She had horrible time management as if she was getting paid by the hour. She completely missed several large spots in my money piece and left them orange-toned when I'm lifted to about a level 9 everywhere else on my head. I mentioned that my hair looked yellow to which Hailey (another employee) insisted that "all hair lifted yellow" but it has never looked this way when Goddess does it. The bleached parts in my money piece did NOT even touch my roots. Haven had left my hair looking patchy, brassy, and 2 weeks grown out. They sat me down in the chair to blow dry my hair and left me there for 10 minutes before beginning to blow dry my hair. Hailey began to dry my hair and then walked away again. I cannot believe how rude and unprofessional they were. The overall appointment took well over 3 hours, for a job that should not have been more than an hour and a half. At the end of it I was just happy that my hair had not been fried off. However, it looked like I needed a color correction. I would have refused to pay for the service if it wasn't 7:30 pm and it wasn't just two 25 year old mean girls in the salon. I hated it and wanted to wait until the morning to ask Goddess to fix the hair or have a refund. I called 2 times the next morning and was told that Goddess would "call me right back." She never did. I showed up to the salon and waited for her to fix the money piece. She couldn't rebleach the brassy tones that Haven had done, but she did try to complete the Scandinavian hairline that I initially asked for. Today, I DM'ed Goddess and told her I still was unhappy with how the rest of my hair turned out. The "balayage" was poorly executed and looked amateur at best. I would've liked a partial refund to get this fixed somewhere else. Considering I would have paid the same amount for her to do it as I would for the girl fresh out of beauty school, I feel robbed. Goddess is still choosing to ignore my messages. read more

My husband purchase a $300 gift certificate, my first visit was awkward, I waited so long for my appointment that they gave me brow henna on the house. This is great business! got root touch up and hair cut and the bill was $128.00...ouch!; knowing that I could not use the gift certificate anywhere else, I went back almost 9 months later to have highlights done to my hair with root touch up and cut. Called for the appointment, told the receptionist what I wanted done, I know I repeated it to make sure. Looking forward to it. with $172 left on the certificate, wonderful things are going to happen to my hair. Told the stylist what I wanted done and how I would like the hair cut to be. In the middle of doing my hair, she was called away about something, all I know is when she came back, it must have not been good because you can tell the attitude changes. She completed the root touch up and start the highlights, but what appears to be in the middle of the highlights, she left and chit chat with colleagues. I signal her, she came back. I asked if she was going to finish my highlight, she stated that I am getting partial highlights. I explained that during my call with the receptionist, I wanted full highlights. she said that I was on scheduled for partials and she explained that she will have to redo and the amount of time it will be to have the full highlight complete. I stayed with the partial. After the wash and wait for the toner, she was busy with another client. Washed, cut and blow dry. Although the cut was not bad, it was hard to tell where the highlights were and the root was definitely a lot darker than my hair, I did point that out to the stylist and she stated that next time we will go lighter. So right now, the cut looks great, not sure where the highlights are and one dark line down the middle...funny . Paying for the services. The bill was $250, I explained that I have a balance on the certificate. The receptionist could not seem to find the gift certificate in the system, the manager/owner I guess came up to help, could not find it. She keeps asking for the gift certificate that I do not have. The third person came up and finally something is happening...only to find out that I need the certificate because they do not have the balance in the system. After going back and forth about me not having the certificate because I gave it to the shop on the first visit and according to the receptionist, the balance is in the system. It was very frustrating and I am certain it was frustrating for manager as well. Things got a little heated between the manager and myself; with frustration, I said just tell me how much and I will pay for it now so I can get out of there. I also added that I asked for services that I did not get and the root is very dark; she replied insinuating that I am unhappy with my hair because I have to pay and I should have said something then. I know that I said I will pay for it and have my credit card out in front of her. As for as letting my stylish know, I did...She then said that she will take care of the service and for me to have a nice day. I keep saying that there's a balance on on the certificate and she keeps saying it's not in her system but yet she took care of the services that I received. Technically you did not, you may have taking care of $78.00 out of $250.00. I do think some of this is my fault, I believed the receptionist when she said I have a balance. I believed that my stylist looked up my record and see what color I had from my first visit. There were not a lot of communications between the stylist and myself but that could be my fault. As for the Certificate, I would think it should be in the system as there was a receipt from the first appointment. I do not understand the gift certificate procedures and processes, but Ladies! if you have a certificate, have them give it back to you! I did not receive mine back from the first visit because "the balance is in the system". It is pricier than most places, people are nice but with or without the gift certificate, I am not going back. I have made another appointment elsewhere to get my root lighter, it looks like black tire track on my head :-)... and full highlights that I thought I asked for. read more

I've been searching for a stylist since I moved to area over two years ago now. I wanted to find someone that I could trust. And I found her. Goddess is absolutely amazing. I love my summer highlights and can't wait till we can do a fall color. She is super knowledgeable about the industry and so quick. She does my full head of highlights and styles it in under and hour and a half. But this isn't all she does. She just did a facial for me today and my face feels amazing. I am Male and there is a barber next door that I tried a few times and one day he was closed so I stepped into Goddess's salon and I've not been back to the barber. Not only does she have an awesome personality, but she knows how to cut and style hair. I loved her so much I made my wife, and my mother in law try her and now they both are hooked. I received a keratin treatment to help manage and reduce the frizz in my hair that is supposed to last 3-5 months long. I have curly hair so I expect the lower end of the spectrum. I even bought the products (shampoo and conditioner) to help it last longer. Instead a month later my hair is back to normal almost as if I never received this treatment. When I contacted the salon and went in I explained my problem. I didn't want the service done again because it was such a long grueling process (chemical making your eyes and nose burn and so much heat you feel light headed after sitting there for three hours). I spent $420 and I didn't even want a full refund but I was only offered a $50 refund for the product. Which is a little insulting. I won't waste my time or money here again that's is for sure. read more

I had a great hair cut here. The girl that cut my hair did a really good job. My hair is difficult to cut. It is fine and has just enough natural wave that will stick out everywhere if not cut well. I like to jump in shower in morning, shower, shampoo, brush my hair and be done with my hair for the day but a brush once in a while if I think of it. I got in this habit long ago because I had 9 children and no time for much more! Doing this does require a good cut. Megan was my stylist and though I live in Gainesville and was in the area for just a few days I plan on returning for hair cuts from her. (Also a good excuse to visit the beach!) Those 9 children are grown and gone now so I am free to do this! read more
