I took my 85 yr old mother for a long over due hair cut today. My regular girl Paula wasn't there so I we had Stephanie. She was awesome! My moms hair has a few different textures and its nit easy to cut her hair and get it right the 1st time. I showed Stephanie a few pics and she really did a wonderful job. My mom was complaining the whole time that she was sick so Stephanie stepped up her pace. I felt like my mom was rushing her but she was very professional and sympathetic towards my mother. Didn't break her stride. Thank you Stephanie for being so caring and sweet. I also needed my eyebrows done and she did an AMAZING job. My eyebrows are not easy to do bcuz I have some bald spots on them. I LOVE my eyebrows. So if u have a dresser that you usually see and she's not available, ask for Stephanie!! I'll see her again. Katie was my stylist for today-she listened to to what I wanted and make sure to give me exactly what I wanted. She didn't overdo it with any product and was careful with my blowout(so no burns from the hairdryer). She was very quick and efficient and I appreciate that in a stylist. So my hair has been a little grown out, but I just haven't had time for color. I went in for just a haircut and blowout with Vessi. Wow! I never realized what a difference a really good haircut makes because I always get color too. This might sound crazy, but it even made my color look better. I really enjoyed my haircut last time, about a month or so again with Jen. She did such a great job/I got her card and we talked about how much her hair coloring was and etc and she stated her prices were a bit more but still definitely under 100 & I even raved about her to my boyfriend and said "yep this definitely my stylist" bc it's so hard for me to find a great stylist I trust & love. I made an app lastnight on the website for a VIP single color. I have straight black hair. Yeah it is pretty long, a little past my shoulder. I get long layers cut into it and a trim usually. & I just wanted black on my roots/pulled thru. The price stated online 77$. Which I was definitely going to tip generously bc of the great deal. Mind you I totally get the use of color/length of hair/time but then when I sat in her chair and explained she stated she needed to go get a price for me. She came back with "its gonna be $114" I then stated ill just take the single color then, which was $50. (I just moved into a new place and wanted to treat myself but not go overboard today) Again mind you, Jen is super duper nice & a great stylist but I wont be back. She dyed my hair, washed me out, and then just towel dried my hair for less than a minute and sent me on my way... It's still winter and I was sent out with soaked hair. I think atleast for $50 and no more than 20 minutes to cover my hair in color that I would get a quick blow dry (would've paid an extra 10 or so for it definitely) I'm just disappointed tbh. Not really mad or etc. great person, good customer service, but wish I wouldve been treated a tad better or taken into consideration. Sadly definitely lost my service and now I'm back on the search for a good stylist. read more

You can truly tell that the workers are passionate about their jobs. I highly recommend Vessi for any sort of balayage or creative/dramatic hair coloring. Before she began, she looked over my hair very carefully to determine what would work best. She explained every step that she had to take and why it mattered. I've been coming here for many years-been through several stylists. Each and every time I've been greeted and treated very warmly. The stylist asks exactly I want-I usually bring a photo to give an idea of what I want-and I've yet to be disappointed. Now I bring my kids-one is severe mentally handicapped and is treated appropriately. She gets what she wants and I don't pay an arm and a leg for it! My little guy loves how they shape his hair. I can understand this place isn't everybody's perfect salon-but for me it's my salon. read more

I've never written a review before but felt compelled to after this haircut. I recently moved to this area and needed to find a stylist. This place was close and had good reviews so I figured why not. I had julianna for a simple wash and cut. I asked to trim my current cut which was a medium long angled cut with long layers. I didn't get a blow dry, but now I wish I did so I could have seen the damage before i got home. I have an event to go to in 2 days so hopefully I can get this atrocity fixed before then. I have no idea what she did, the front is 2 different lengths!...just refer to the pictures. I obviously cant speak about the other stylists but I do not recommend julianna. read more

I went in for a under cut and to get my inverted bob trimmed and they cut my hair about 5 inches shorter than I wanted it to be. The undercut was completely crooked and the design itself was a mess. There was a LARGE bald spot at the top of the undercut right in the middle of my head! When I saw what it looked like I was appalled and distraught. I had to fix it by having my friend who is a stylist at another salon fade it out and give me a bald fade too erase the HORROR SHOW on the back of my head. I'm going to have to wear a hat to thanksgiving dinner with my husbands family this year as a result and I am so embarrassed. How did her manager not step in when he saw this being done? Such a lack of professionalism and I will NOT be back. read more

Honestly, I would NOT have considered working here even if I were offered the position. Hair Cuttery is a HUGE step down from the salon I'm at now. I hear more negative complaints than I do positive feedback, and now I understand why. I was trying to be professional, but I should have walked out of my interview and I wish I had. I have never felt more disrespected going through with an interview. I realized this company was unorganized the first time I tried to get a hold of Shannon and she rarely got back in touch with me. And when she did, she blamed me for her mistakes when messing up the days and times. I was also told to go to two different locations for the interview, and had to call to figure out the correct one. I arrived 15 minutes early. There were two stylists and two clients. The store was not that busy. Stephanie, the manager at the store in Glassboro and the stylist or manager at the store in Berlin, was very rude, cocky, stuck-up, and showed terrible customer service. Stephanie stayed at her station, asked if I was here for the interview, told me to sit down, and continued working. She could have taken a minute of her time to stop what she was doing, walk over to me, shake my hand, introduce herself, allow me to introduce myself, and then go back to her guest. It was very unprofessional. She then told me to grab my male model, brought me to another station to work, and gave me a time limit to perform the men's cut (20 minutes)--still never officially introducing herself. I would not have been surprised if she didn't even know my name. Afterwards, she told me to perform my women's cut. She gave me 35 minutes. I told her I felt rushed to do both cuts and that 35 minutes was not enough time for the women's cut. I did it in about 35-40 minutes, and it was a half-assed job. I can take constructive criticism, but she was very cocky when she was pointing out my mistakes and gave me an attitude when trying to figure out how I cut my layers. She said she only cuts a certain way and was confused by how I cut the layers--as if my way was wrong. She was disgusted by the entire haircut, but if that's the amount of time always given, that's the kind of cut you're going to get every time. Stephanie, with a superior tone, said she could do a men's cut in 15 minutes and a women's wash, cut, and blowdry WITH a "flat iron finish" in 25 minutes. I find that VERY hard to believe. I did a men's cut in a shorter amount of time then she did on hers so it is hypocritical to tell me to do one thing when she can do another as far as time. I understand Hair Cuttery is fast pace and a "get in and get out" type of place, but I feel as if 25 minutes for a GREAT consultation, wash, cut, recommendation/demonstration of product usage, and blowdry is ridiculous and will lead to uneven and unsatisfying results especially because not everyone has the same type of straight, wavy, or curly hair, length, or thickness of hair. Not everyone is getting the same kind of cut or finished style. I am very meticulous. I'm used to a salon where more time is taken to perfect a cut. I do a thorough consultation, ask the proper questions, give an excellent cut, demonstrate the products I am using for the blowdry and why I am using them, and give an amazing finish. I'm sorry if my 2 years of experience is not quite comparable to her 5+ years or however long she has been doing it, but it was very unprofessional for her to undermine and scrutinize me in the fashion she did. Stephanie seemed annoyed because we didn't even finish the rest of the interview as far as the demonstration. It only took me about an hour to do both cuts. We still had another hour. She brought me into the back room to finish the other half of the interview. Again, she was very rude and didn't seem happy with any of the answers I gave. Stephanie then made a comment about how she doesn't have 4 hours to spend on an interview with me or anyone else when I asked a simple question about how much time is allotted on the floor, once hired, for color services--not speaking about the interview. She gave an attitude every time I asked a question. Again, I wish I had walked out because I have never felt more disrespected during an interview. Hair Cuttery is not a place I want to work for. I deserve to work at a salon where the stylists are professional, friendly, passionate, and actually take their time and make an effort to give the best service they can possibly give. read more

Had a terrible experience and "salon leader" Erica Ranger was the whole reason. When I walked in with my 5 year old to get his hair cut, she checked us in. She told me that it would be a 15 minute wait. I said, "Ok, I'll be right back." I came back less than 10 minutes later. As I walked in, someone was going to check me in again and Erica yelled, "they're already checked in." So, we sat down and waited. About 15 minutes later, a man walked in and Erica knew him by sight. She went over to the computer, called one woman's name. No one responded so she took this man back (I think his name was Juan). We waited another 15 minutes while another employee finished up and checked out another customer. I walked up when they were finished and asked when we would be taken back. The woman said, "I'm sorry, I have an appointment." I asked if we were in the computer, she checked and said that no, we were not in the computer. I asked when we would be taken back and she told me 10-15 minutes. I asked to speak to the manager, who then walked forward, and it was the same woman Erica. She gave me a curt apology. I told her that that doesn't suffice because she compounded the issue and should have realized at some point that we were being skipped over. She just shrugged and said it was an oversight. I asked for her district managers information and she gave me the number to the help desk. The help desk gave me the client support number who said they would leave a message with the district manager Susan. The guy at that number couldn't have cared less. I told him how upsetting this situation was and his comment was, "duly noted." Seriously, that's all he said. The whole experience today has be terrible. Never again. read more
