I haven't been here since middle school, and this most recent appointment of mine reminded me why. I asked to have my hair curled - I wanted loose beach waves. Instead, I received tight, crunchy curls, which left me looking like Bo Peep. It took a very long time to curl my hair, longer than I expected, and way longer than if I did it myself or had a friend do it. I was in a time crunch and I even asked beforehand if it were possible to have it done in the time frame I asked. It was done, just not very nicely. Hair spray was over used and a lot of the curls were very hard. I had two antennas in the front while the rest of the curls were in the back. In no way did it look good. I'm embarrassed that I spent almost $100 to have my hair curled and for it to turn out the way it did. It's been days since having my hair curled and I cannot get rid of the burn smell in my hair. It is very noticeable. I've washed my hair multiple times, tried leave in conditioners, and sprays and nothing is helping. The smell has stained my pillow cases. It's nasty. I'm still extremely upset about it. The curls fell out by the time my event began - my coworkers even commented that it didn't look like I got my hair done at all. I will never ever be back! I've learned my lesson. read more

Came in for a blowout with a flat iron pass and some curls and my hair had been drenched in hairspray which isn't typical for when I get my blowouts at other places. For the price I paid I'd have expected the quality of the job to be done better and with less harsh and damaging products. Never had a stylist go through each layer of my hair with hairspray after they finished a pass through with the flat iron, it honestly didn't help the look or quality. Wish more hairstylists knew how to actually handle curly/kinky hair without doing it damage. read more

I would stay away. I scheduled my appointment online 2 days in advance with Nuzhat because I had read good things about her. When I came in for my appointment the lady at the front said oh we tried to call you. They never told me why, I'm assuming it was to cancel, but they weren't even able to tell me what phone number they had tried to call. I never got a call. Finally she went and got someone from the back and asked if I minded if someone else cut my hair. I said sure since I was already there. I never got her name and she was never outright rude to me, but I got the feeling the whole time that I was inconveniencing them by being there for my appointment. While she was cutting my hair she was teaching/explaining what she was doing to the lady who checked me in and I don't think she even understood what I wanted done. I asked for my undercut trimmed, which was fine ( I have been doing that at home for over a year now) a trim and layers added because I have curly hair and wanted more of a shape rather than all one length. What I ended up with was drastically shorter all around and uneven layers. I will not be going back there, I will pay a little more to go somewhere where I feel welcome like a paying customer and to get what I asked for. read more

This review is for a wonderful stylist, with long strawberry blonde/light brown hair and glasses. Younger, in her 20s. (Feel terrible that I forgot her name.) But, she gave me a fresh, new cut with layers, shorter in the back and longer in the front, with some wispy long bangs as well. And since I have thick hair, she thinned a bit at the bottom as well. I couldn't be happier!! My hair is lighter, bouncier, has amazing movement and just compliments my face so well. Even makes my round face look a bit slimmer. Just love it. I needed a haircut badly! My closest friend told me to come here and ask for her stylist. So I called and wanted to make an appointment but I don't need to since she doesn't do that. I was reluctant and I made sure I save some pictures of hairstyles that I want on my phone. I mean she does a good job on my friend so I shouldn't be too scared, right?! Today, I went in, was greeted by a sweet lady and was told to wait for my stylist. So I waited. They were so busy and that's a good sign of a good business. If I showed up 10minutes earlier, I probably wouldn't have waited because she just started on the client. However, it didn't matter since I was able to look through their hair products, observe the clients and all the stylists, and the dynamic of the salon. These ladies were fast. They had male clients go in and out in less than 15mins, stations were swept, combs sterilized, scissors and razors cleaned in between clients. So far, I started to feel better about this choice. It's a little bit longer for women since we tend to want more than just a simple buzz cuts, right?! Finally my turn! Probably waited 30-45mins. My stylist was so nice and welcoming. She immediately wanted to know what I wanted , asked the right questions and then shampoo and conditioner. She knew exactly what she was doing and I didn't have to say anything. I was happy with the result! Furthermore, the price is awesome! It's better than any salons that I've been when it comes to pricing! I went this morning to get a wash and blow out for a wedding. At first everything was fine and the hairstylist was complimenting my color. Then when I asked for a little more volume she laughed and said that my hair was too dry and dead from blowdrying it so much. The hairstylist next to us started laughing as well and they started making jokes. I was furious. This is no way to treat a PAYING customer. I went home and washed my hair and had my daughter help me fix it. Never coming back to this hair cuttery. If I could give zero stars I would. Very unprofessional and RUDE. read more

I booked a $41 haircut online and was charged $75 once I was there...add ons included eyebrow treatment and a long hair fee? I have shoulder length hair and have never been charged a long hair fee before. I'm not sure the cost of the eyebrow package but typically at a nail salon it's about $10. additionally I believe I was charged for an Olaplex treatment that I had said "I did not need." There was communication difficulties because the stylist had limited English and while my hair looks nice I am not pleased with the price I was charged. Also the stylist I booked online was not the one who cut my hair. I have never been charged a long hair fee at other Hair Cutteries. I understand the need to upswell but I will not be back at this hair cuttery. read more

I am delayed ed in giving this review but I feel I need to. I had gone to this hair Cuttery for many many years and was pleased. And then I decided to get highlights. The first time they came out beautiful, the second time my hair came out almost black even though I had just sat with foils in my hair to make it lighter. They said that it was just a toner and that it would go away and become light. Of course it never did and so I went back and they put foils on again and my hair was done blonder. They charged me for fixing it. The next time I went in to refresh my highlights months later, I told the stylist that I wanted them to be even blonder. And I swear she turned my hair black again. I complained I got calls from management asking me to come back in and get it repaired. Of course I refused knowing that the quality of work at the salon has gone straight to the toilet. read more

Booked an appointment with Nuzhat online which was pretty easy. Of course, the pricing isn't going to be 100% correct. For example it cost extra bc she took like 13 inches off, so I'm totally okay with that. The hair wash and mask was so amazing. She has the hands of an Angel and it was hard even staying awake. The olaplex hair care smelled so good and only added to the experience. Nuzhat was very friendly and sweet, and wasn't pushy w forcing conversation when I just wanted to relax. The cut and style turned out amazing. I feel like I'm at my best with this big change. I also went ahead and bought the olaplex mask ($30) bc it made my hair so silky soft. Hopefully I'll be able to find an easier style I can do on my own with this cut. Overall SUPER pleased. I will for sure start seeing Nuzhat when I need a cut. read more

She rounded off the ends so it came to a nice oval shape instead of straight across, which i really like. Very friendly, and sweet...u made my hair feel light and free.
