I just left the salon and my go-to stylist (for 10 years) Genet got the job done! My blowout is fire. She's always prompt and so kind. The salon recently made some updates and it looks a bit nicer, though work is ongoing. The only upsetting thing was that my MASTER STYLIST's chair was moved to the back corner of the salon with dim lighting and no windows. After 10+...why? read more

Hanh was great. Love the cut! She did a good job. Would recommend. She listened to what I wanted done.

You cannot walk in 2 hours before closing. They will not take appointments. I had to uber here to find out after not being able to book an appointment online for some odd reason. read more

Hanah is a wonder!! She's super talented; a true artist!! I found her today and will never go to anyone else in the greater DC area. I actually came from DC for the cut. She had great advice on color as well. I'm leaving here looking sassy! read more

The stylist was lovely and skilled. Efficient , appropriately priced, very clean. I asked for layered trim for long hair and I was out in 20 minutes with exactly what I had asked for. I was shocked at the price in the best way. read more

Had the pleasure of meeting Eden! She was so sweet and reassuring. She gave me exactly what I asked for. I'll definitely be back.

this is for Fallsgrove location: Booked my son an appointment arrived earlier; observed the 3 stylist behaviors were very unprofessional. One stylist was checking out a lady as we walked in; she specifically did not greet us; after checking out her last client, she walked back with a man to start cutting his hair. As I waited another lady arrived and she was greeted when arrived by one hairstylist. As I waited the hairdressers were discussing who will be taking the next client. At 505 Isabella approached rolling her eyes, calling out the name and butchering such an easy name to pronounce; we walked back to the chair; as she was walking back she was mouthing something to the other hairdresser washing another clients hair. Looking at their reaction from both laughing and making faces didn't seem like an inside joke between coworkers or friends i definitely knew this lady had an issue! While my son sat down she asked what was wanted... she combed her finger through my sons hair and she said the hair would stick out; I said how if you know how to cut the hair it shouldn't he's been getting the same haircut every 2-3 months. She kept on repeating that it's gonna be sticking up. I was annoyed by this time cause I knew she didn't want to cut my son's hair- and no other hairstylist offered to cut his hair- if she can't cut a 12 yr old hair then why call us back and waste our time! gotta find another hair stylist cause the guy my son went to retired read more

Eden did a fantastic job with my highlights and cut! I love it and left with the biggest smile on my face!

Four stars because I did wait a good 20 minute after my appointment time and was in a time crunch :/ but five stars for my girl Tina! My first time going to her after receiving a recommendation and she was great! I was very pleased with her experience and professionalism with handling my hair! read more

Kent is a superb stylist! He is friendly, professional and talented. Thank you for helping me to look my best!

I started going here when my stylist Eden came to this location. Parking is easy it is free for the first hour and typically a haircut for me does not take more than an hour so parking in this respect is free the store is medium so but it's always clean neat. The staff is very welcoming and nice one time I went there and my regular stylus was not available someone else said I know how you like your haircut I've seen it cut many times and she cut my hair. Overall this is a great place a great location easy in and easy out the sailors in a very nice it's clean and nice and very Covid safe in my option Give it a try 3.9.23 I just wanted to update this review of our game this location five stars but also my hairstylist Eden is great easy parking in free parking for up to one hour if you go during non-peak times even though it's next-door to a giant it's not very busy. There's plenty of stylus there for people who just walked in. Everybody I've met there that works there and even the customers are nice 7.27.23 Still great location and staff read more

Eden was very friendly. She cut my hair, trimmed my mustache and beard just the way I wanted.

Hanh is incredible with short hair cuts and color! Great recommendations & always a great cut!

I have had haircuts all over the world for 50 years, maybe more. Some good, some not so good. But I finally find someone who is the best haircutter I have ever had. Her name is Dilma. She works at Hair Cuttery at 4818 Bethesda Avenue, Bethesda MD 20814. 301 656 0760. My hair looks great after I leave the salon, when I wake up in the morning, when I go to bed at night, when my hair is just washed, or not, every day! Her cuts grow out beautifully too. I've never written a review before, but she's just so talented, I felt the need to share my good fortune in finding her. Thanks, Dilma! Carolyn G. read more

There is nothing signature about the haircut I got yesterday. They DON'T use blades, they dont know what a shape-up is. What a horrible experience!!! They only have basic hair clips I have at home and Yodit who did my hair took a total of 10 min to "cut my hair". She didn't offer to do a shape-up and I had to ask her for one and she didn't know what that was. Her response to me requesting a shape-up: HUH!? She literally started lining only the front of my head, not the sides, literally just the center. Huge red flag. I came home and my husband said it was a misaligned haircut. Never again! I've been going to Genet for about 2 years since moving to Arlington and looking for someone who "knows" my hair and can give me the cut/style I desire.....she does both. What I really value and appreciate about her is, along with her giftedness and competence as a stylist, she always listens to what I want so I leave the salon pleased with the look she's created and feeling like "me". I've paid 3-4 times more for cuts/styles over the years, but none have been better than what I receive from Genet. She's just really wonderful! As to the salon itself, it's always pristine and well-organized, I've never had to wait over 5 minutes, and check-in/check-out is quick and easy. read more

This Hair Cuttery is in a slightly upscale area compared to other Hair Cuttery locations. It's near luxury apartments, Starbucks, a nail salon, and Giant in Columbia Pike. I was getting ready for a date, getting a shampoo and blow dry done, and was growing pretty impatient because the lady that was doing my hair kept disappearing into a room, to grab a tiny heat protectant spray lol. She ended up finishing my hair sooner than expected when she found out I had a date, and she did a great job. She was so sweet and nice. I didn't take a pic because I was almost late for my date lol. I paid I think $28 total; $18 for shampoo and dry and $10 for "long" hair (but I think it's due to the thickness and waviness of my hair since I don't have long hair right now). read more

I have seen a lot of hair stylists, I do mean a lot. One of the best stylists for a color and cut is Eden. She has an amazing eye when it comes to what you want your hair color to be. She is precise with her hair cuts. She truly listens to what you want and then makes magic. read more

I've been going to Tina for about two years, and she always delivers a great service. She really listens to how I want my hair to look like and makes it even better. Really recommend her if you need a nice haircut for an event or if you just want to look sharp. read more

I posted recently about the stylist, Hahn, at the Penrose location, and her skill as a master stylist. This post is about Hahn's pride in her work and willingness to make things right for the customer. I wanted a trim before I flew out to California for a family and friend's reunion. It had been over six weeks and I wanted the fresh cut I had experienced the last time, so I made an appointment for just a cut with no blowout. When I got home, I thought my cut didn't look anything like it did the first time and debated going back later that evening. However, I waited until the next day and found out Hahn was off on Wednesday & Thursday and was back on Friday when I was flying out. I was able to get in contact with her and she told me to meet her back at the salon later that morning. She reshaped my hair to my satisfaction. I tried to tip her for her gas and trouble of coming back on her day off, but she would have none of that. Her pride in her work and willingness to make sure you are satisfied is why she now has a lifelong loyal customer in me. read more

Do not go here! I walked in because I was unable to book an appt online. I asked for a haircut and gloss, as I just needed to neutralize the yellow in my highlights. They told me it would be $99. After changing chairs to 3 different seats, and waiting 24min, the stylist Lee, told me the price is now going to be $134, because to remove the yellow it costs more. I've NEVER had this much trouble with. Gloss, and frankly with the 3 seat changes and the stylist asking so many questions, I don't think she knows how to do hair. Don't go here! read more

Hanna was great and gave me a great haircut. Not too short and great length and style. She was very professional and nice.

Hanh cut my hair. It was by far the worst haircut I have ever received. She also was incredibly rude to me the entire time. Telling me that my hair is thin, fried and flat. Just telling me over and over how bad my hair was. One thing to cut my hair poorly and then on top to roast me during my visit. I walked away with too short of bangs, incredibly choppy layers and my feelings hurt. read more

Great experience here. Hanh understood what we wanted (showed her a photo) and then improved upon it! She was great about explaining the cost ahead of time, and super encouraging. So thrilled with the results too!! read more

Yen is amazing! First time here and I honestly feel like this might be my favorite haircut I've ever had, usually when I ask for a certain few instructions there's a bit of "give and take" with how it ends up, but this time I got literally exactly what I wanted. My hair started out honestly long, at least 4-5 inches and in the past people have had trouble going from that to a short cut, which I understand. Honestly Yen handled it like a boss, and when she was done I literally said "wow omg this is perfect, I did not expect this thank you so much" - I'm super grateful and walking out of here super happy! read more

My Wife had a hair blow out appointment schedule for 6pm. They did not take her in until 745pm because they took in too many walk ins. Not only did they not offer her a discount, they told her that they "had no capacity to give her one". To make it worse, they OVERCHARGED her blow out from 36 dollars to 63 DOLLARS because they thought she had "long hair" (which she does not). They even included charges that she DID NOT REQUEST. This was completely unacceptable service met with incompetent customer service. This will be the last time we will visit this salon. read more

I have had many great experiences at this salon that I wouldn't have expected to be honest. I know that Hair Cuttery is a chain, but the individual stores are run by people and whoever is in charge of this particular place seems to put some heart into it. I have only been in this immediate neighborhood for roughly three months and the employees here are very kind and easy to talk to, friendly and even empathetic. A buddy if mine who usually has a hard time speaking up about what he wants (and subsequently, usually has bad experiences everywhere else getting a haircut) was also impressed with how the hairstylist communicated with him and made him feel at ease. He was quite pleased with the result and I had to tell him to quit checking himself out every 5 seconds in the reflection of every store window. Today I had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Ms. Detra Knight. We talked. We laughed. And at the end of it I got the haircut I asked for and a smile on my face. read more

I entered Hair Cuttery at 5:25pm today and immediately signed in and chose my stylist. My designated stylist was available at 5:59 PM according to the computer screen. However I waited an hour (double the time) despite the computer's estimate. I waited patiently and even helped other people who were unfamiliar with the sign-in computer system to set sign up as well. I checked my name on the list multiple times. I overheard another patron complain about being on and off the list and waiting too long. A technical glitch of sorts. Perhaps there was something wrong with the system, not sure. But I saw another person get taken for my designated stylist even though I thought I was next, so I waited until 6:25 PM before she was free a 2nd time and again she took another individual, saying I was not on the list. What? How? We double checked and I was nowhere to be found. However I had checked the screen multiple times and I had definitely been on the list each time and was also the next one with that designated stylist. How was I "removed"? Each time I had checked for my position, there was no one who had selected that specific stylist. They were just looking for "next available." Moreover it doesn't make sense to wait for my stylist to do yet another person and increase my wait time to 1.5 hours. I had to leave Hair Cuttery without getting my hair done as I had a 7 PM commitment. I will get my haircut done elsewhere this week as my stylist is only in on Sundays and I cannot wait until next Sunday unfortunately. So I am giving this two stars for poor customer service. It feels very disempowering to wait that long and not have one's place in line be respected. read more

I took my passport with me because it has a pretty good photo that shows how I like my hair. It didn't help. The "stylist" still cut my hair WAY too short - she probably only knows 1 way to cut hair. Fortunately, I was prepared for this eventuality and got my hair cut well before the first occasion (nephew's wedding) that I will really care how my hair looks. read more
