Upon entering the shop, I was immediately greeted by a stylist, and immediately sat down for my hair cut. I made an appointment (I do believe walk-ins are welcomed), and doesn't need to wait at all. The staff was friendly and down to earth while maintaining a level of professionalism that sets the bar for other hair salons in the area. The area was clean, with the sounds of light conversation and laughter in the background. Debbi is the name of the stylist who did an excellent job on my hair cut. I loved talking with her and enjoyed my short time there. I's like to return, but I'm not sure that will happen, as I live in the Bay Area. I came in to clean, stylish salon and was greeted kindly. The stylist was young and said she had been cutting hair for about a year. As I looked around I noticed no license posted. Another reason for pause. I stated what I wanted, shape up same style and shorten about an inch and a half. After a very gentle wash, she combed out hair and basically cut along the bottom with a straight cut, and did the same with my bangs. That's it! No blending whatsoever. I couldn't believe that was it. She finished and I thanked her kindly. She was very nice, but very unskilled, in my opinion. I went home rewashed and tried to style. I went in with the explanation of how I had never colored my hair a crazy color, and wanted to to do it one time. But I still wanted to have a professional look, and man did Sun deliver! The purple lasted a pretty long time as well and it faded perfectly so that it didn't need much of a touching up. Now that all the purple is gone I'm left with a caramel blonde ombre on the bottom with my dark brown natural hair up top and it still Blends flawlessly. And imagine changing someone 50 dollars on a butcher job and still claiming to be a professional. Four days prior to this appointment, I immediately notified Morgan through her message app (which by the way has a grammer error) that I had to cancel due to a work related schedule change. I asked Morgan two questions. One do you use the Redkin color line? Or what is your current color line? And do you have some place to direct me to see current portfolio pictures of Kaylie's work? I only see on YELP pictures advertising Stephanie's work, and she is no longer there. Not all stylist's artist abilities are the same when it comes to doing ice blond high / low light coloring. Morgan keep sending reminder notices for my approaching appointment, so I politely sent her another notice again letting her know I had to unfortunately cancel. I few days later I got a curt response telling me Kaylie is going out on maternity leave and she has no openings. After three emails Morgan never answered my other questions. If you want people to respect you and your business than you have to be respectful back. Our time is just as valuable as your time. If you are asking people to spend hundreds of dollars at your salon for services than you have to be able to show current portfolio pictures of your work not other people's work. The treatment I recieved left me feeling that because I wasn't someone they could immediately make money off of I now was not even worthy to respond back too. That is not professional nor nice.
