WARNING!!! THIS IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND NOT WORTH $360 FOR ALL THE TROUBLE IT CAUSED!
My daughter received a color correction service yesterday, 08/25 starting at 10:30 am.
Unfortunately, the condition in which my daughter left the salon was unacceptable and resulted in significant inconvenience, additional expenses, and damage to personal belongings.
When my daughter came home, excessive blue dye was covering her scalp, ears, neck, face, and part of her shirt. She informed me that her hair had only been rinsed once at the salon. Today 08/26, she washed her hair again at home, and a substantial amount of blue dye continued to wash out. The attached photographs document the condition of her scalp after two rinses. Although I was unable to photograph her immediately upon returning home, the amount of dye that remained after two rinses demonstrates the extent of the problem.
The excessive dye also caused the following damage and inconvenience:
* Blue dye stained the bathtub, walls, sink, floor, towels, clothing, and other household belongings.
* Her pillowcase was covered in blue dye after only one night.
* Her $64 manicure, including the French-tip color and design, was stained blue.
* Her $80 pedicure, including the French-tip color and design, was stained blue.
* Her hands and fingers became stained blue.
* Her pink phone case was stained blue.
* We incurred additional cleaning, laundry, water, and supply expenses.
* My daughter was unable to work a scheduled shift because the visible dye remained on her skin, around her neck and scalp, resulting in lost wages.
We also returned to the salon, in an effort to address the issue. Unfortunately, the stylist was not present. We contacted her by telephone while at the salon, and she offered to rinse my daughter's hair. However, after already spending considerable time dealing with the consequences of the service, we were unable to remain and wait. We went home, and I ultimately rinsed my daughter's hair myself.
The photographs document the substantial amount of blue dye that came out during the additional rinsing at home and show the water gradually becoming clearer after extensive rinsing.
A customer paying $360 for a professional color-correction service should reasonably expect the service to be completed in a manner that does not leave excessive dye covering the scalp, face, ears, neck, clothing, and surrounding personal property. The resulting damage and inconvenience were not what we reasonably expected from a professional salon service. read more
